Beautiful hotel, with grand public spaces and large rooms. Well maintained and exceptionally clean. Great workout facility and friendly, helpful staff. The location is right in the heart of Madrid, meaning we could walk to almost anywhere. Can't wait to go back.

the hotel has some great history going back to 1912.The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff are very pleasant and all can speak English. The one negative is the air conditioning is suspect,it seems to go on and off ,I expect to save money. The breakfast buffet is superb and a great start to your day.The big shopping area the Passeig del Gracia is a 15 minute walk away from the hotel.Overall a very good expierience

Im at the Westin Palace Madrid eating breakfast and had to write this review now. This hotel is so great and Im so happy my wife and I stayed here. We booked on points with SPG for three nights. As a Platinum Guest, I was upgraded to a Jr Suite. Things were off to a great start. The lady at check-in was so kind. It was really busy and she stayed focused on getting us checked in. The location is excellent. We have walked to all of the major attractions and stopped at the many Tapas bars along the... Read more

It's a stunning hotel and the staff are amazing at this grand hotel of Europe. And that is a very comfortable bed! But the other furniture and the carpet are both in dire need of updating. Definitely splurge on the breakfast - one of the best I've had in ages - and the staff couldn't be nicer or more accommodating. Ask for a courtyard room - I've never ever had such a lovely quiet night at a central city hotel.

The hotel itself is a grand old building in great location. Being a little harsh to vote only as average but given the competition it is nostalgia that would vote it higher. If a feeling of an older world opulence is what you are after this would be a very good.

We spent five days at this beautiful and historic hotel! We were in Madrid for a wedding and had a wonderful time! Our room was large by European Standards and had a very comfortable Westin Bed! The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants, museums and shopping. We were out late every night and always felt safe! We did not eat in the hotel but the Sunday Brunch, though expensive, looked amazing! Hope to go back again soon!

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our two week trip to Spain. A perfect choice. Our rooms were large and well appointed. Staff were very polite and accommodating. We particularly appreciated the fact that at any time you could dial "9" and get instant attention from the staff. Example: woke up at 6:00 am for an early morning departure. Pressed "9" and asked for two coffees (complimentary), coffee arrived within five minutes. Another advantage of this hotel is that it provides ameni... Read more

Our visit to Madrid last month was my first since 1980. In looking at my 36-year old photos, I found one of the Palace Hotel on its beautiful square with the Neptune Fountain. Well, it's still there and this time I was fortunate enough to be able to stay there. When we arrived at 8:30 AM, our room was ready, which was a nice surprise following our overnight flight from DC. The room was moderate in size but had two sinks in the bathroom and a beautiful view of the fountain. We also learned (... Read more

Great Hotel overall. Very good location, clean and spacious enough rooms. Attentive staff, good restaurant. It is a "big" hotel and every time I have stayed there in the past 4 years a Business Conference or meeting is taking place. This creates a busy lobby and not necessarily an inconvenience! Would recommend it and would stay there again!

We stayed 5 nights and the foyer dining room and general space is beautiful. Gorgeous colours and feel. The room was a little disappointing very small and fixtures and fittings in bathroom were old and need renovating. The breakfasts were lovely but the main restaurant for dinner was very expensive and food was underwhelming. Tiny portions and my dishes tasted horrible. To give you an idea it's 15 euros for a canned pineapple coconut juice. Overall the hotel itself was in a perfect city location... Read more

No major view from the room - but very well appointed ones. Wi-fi was a trifle slow. Breakfast spread is very good. Didn't have lunch or dinner. Stayed for 3 days. Roo service was very slow - ordered once, didn't bother again but then it could be due to packed house.

We stayed here for three days, arriving on a Saturday. Things went badly the moment we arrived at this hotel ‚?? two people immediately pounced on us to carry our bags in and then stood watching us as we waited for some 20 minutes to check in, in spite of spare unmanned check-in desks. When we finally checked in, we were told that it was hotel policy to draw down from our credit card the full cost of our stay plus an extra 15% on check-in. This is a Westin and a good one. However the hotel looks like a luxury property but is a Westin. The service does not match the architecture. But for the price and location you can't go wrong. Just don't expect 5 star service, it more like 3 stars.

We had such a wonderful stay here. It's near everything you'll want to see while in Madrid and the staff is super friendly. The rooms were clean and modern, and there are many spaces to sit and socialize (or read, like I did) at night when you're done for the day. The breakfast buffet was huge and had everything I had been craving from America after four months abroad (like peanut butter!)

Hotel is 5 Star so one can expect all that goes with that , but pricing is excessive with comparable hotels in the area , also considering there are hundreds of hotels in the area. If you paying for a prime hotel , I don't get the excessive charges on simple things like drinks and water . If you can afford this doesn't mean you loose the comprehension of outrageous markup . A drink in this hotel is three times anything outside the hotel, and being Madrid , there is a restaurant every 50ft .

This hotel is as good as things can come in Madrid. The location is excellent and all the major attractions are a short walk away. The staff is "extremely" helpful and very polite. Always on their toes.Prompt & Polite. The rooms are nice, well lit and breakfast spread is delightful. Easily one of the best Westin around the world. A truly special place. We loved the hotel it was clean organised, classy and the dining room was spectacular. If we were to be critical whilst we expected the drinks to be more expensive than the surrounding areas the prices meant you had no incentive to eat the lovely hotel restaurant areas and encouraged to eat and drink elsewhere which wjen visiting Madrid we came to do anyway. Some of the usual things you'd find in the rooms like slippers and toiletries had to be asked for. They were provided but should really hav... Read more

Was given a complimentary upgrade; my bedroom was very spacious with beautiful decor, bathroom was quite large too. Our first visit to Spain and we were fortunate to book this hotel. It is located in the middle of everything in Madrid, walking distance to many museums, parks and the train station. The hotel itself is beautiful. The room was spacious and the service was excellent (free coffee daily and really good coffee too!). I stayed here for a night, since it was conveniently located to reach anything in the center and later on to travel to the airport (shuttle bus very close). The hall of the hotel and its restaurant are very beautiful. A true classic in Madrid. Nevertheless I stayed in a room that was quite smal, views to a dark patio and it looked quite old for my taste. This was the fourth time I stayed at the Westin Palace and was startled at how the property and service have deteriorated. I previously enjoyed my visits and was looking forward to the Palace again complementing my Madrid trip. Alas, it did not.
