The hotel is very well situated in the heart of Madrid. We had a superior room, which was sufficient, the bathroom a little bit narrow. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast buffet in the morning is very rich and tasty. I wish to recommend this hotel and certainly will stay there next time I visit Madrid.

What a first class hotel! Quiet, refined, service oriented, immaculate-the small details matter here. Such respect to guests. Marcos is awesome, making us feel pampered, taken care of. He took the time to answer questions about customs, and to make great recommendations for restaurants, tapas, walks, shopping, museums, flamenco. Thank you Marcos! Everyone always greeted us warmly and took great care of us. As my daughter said, she couldn't believe we were lucky enough to stay in the nices... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Orfila for a couple of nights over the new year. We chose it based on all the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor and it was great! The room was awesome, was large and tastefully decorated with antique furniture. It was on the fourth floor facing the courtyard and was nice and quiet on New Year's night. The front desk helped us with tips for things to do around Madrid. They booked online tickets for the Prado museum for us and that helped us skip the long lines. The neighborhood ... Read more

The hotel is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I've not been disappointed in any way. The reception and welcome perfect. It's all very professional. The position is good. Walking distance from the shops and near same very good restaurants. My room is good it's reasonably large, the bathroom very clean. I will definitely return.

We stayed here for two nights. We were welcomed by very friendly helpful staff. They offered us a drink and somewhere to sit, which was very much needed. We were show our room and all the facilities explained. We ate in the restaurant on the first night. Again the staff were wonderful and took the time to help us with our questions. A wonderful stay. It made our trip to Madrid even more enjoyable.

Room 47 has a separate toilet in spacious bathroom. Love this. Big bathroom and room has vestibule. Grand duchess furnishings (this is the place for modernists) and very comfortable beds. Room got black as black at night due to heavy curtains. Layout of room excellent. Can spend time pleasantly in the room. Best location in Madrid for dinner at Sala de despiece and breakfast at Toma. Hotel breakfast seems expensive. Coffee and tea facilities in room and complimentary sherry.

Hotel was first class - lovely big room & bathroom. Room had enormous double bed and a sofa - couldn't fault it. All staff went out of their way to help us from suggesting restaurants, tourist must dos etc. Hotel is located a short walk from the metro, some of the tourist attractions and excellent restaurants. I would agree that the breakfast was pricey but excellent and did mention it to the manager. However, after reading trip advisor before we visited we did head out for breakfast the firs... Read more

We stayed here 3 nights in Madrid in November of 2016. After looking at many many hotels on trip advisor we decided on the Orfila and were not disappointed. The room was beautiful and big. Furniture in the room looked to antique or copies of classics. The room was clean. The staff was very helpful and always seemed happy to see and help guests. This hotel is slightly outside the center of things in Madrid and this is ok. It sits on a quiet street and is a 5 minute walk from the metro stop. Easy... Read more

My husband and I /steve thomas arrived straight from airport on Friday am/our room was ready and the most gracious staff served us coffee/pastries in the bar while paperwork was completed. They then took us up to a lovely room and gifted us with a bottle of bubbly as we were celebrating our anniversary. There was also another bottle of sherry in the refrig on the house. We slept for a few hours and then out to explore. The staff took so much time getting us oriented to the neighborhood, faci... Read more
