We really liked this hotel! We could walk all over Madrid from here and anywhere we couldn't, it was easy to grab a cab! Some people on trip advisor complained of the noise, however, if you want to be in the heart of all the action and able to walk everywhere, that is part of the expectation. There is a pub right by the hotel and soccer celebrations went on until 2am with cheering. But, we knew that was what we were getting when we saw the amazing location! We had a wonderful stay-just have real... Read more

Well we loved the place, the staff were great, breakfast excellent and easy to get to via the Metro at Sol. Everywhere was in walking distance and you had this base right in the centre of Madrid. However if you are a light sleeper then beware as you really are just off the Playa Mayor and located over bars and restaurants which keep Spanish hours i.e. late! If like us you had walked for many miles seeing the sights and then finished off with excellent wine and tapas we just jonked out - but tha... Read more

Stayed for three nights, as a city break hotel this is fine. Used as a base the location is perfect, with plaza mayor just yards away, dozens of bars and restaurants within feet! Didn't have breakfast here as overpriced like any other city hotel. Staff were ok, poor views from our room and a bit of a damp smell in lobby. Still four stars for location alone.

Right next to Plaza Major, the location cannot be better. You can easily walk to the Prado and the palace, and there are loads of places to eat/drink. The hotel itself is very comfortable: the family room was a decent size for a central city location, and all amenities were modern and comfortable. It does have bunk beds so may not be suitable for two very small kids, but ours are 10 and 4 so it worked out fine. Staff were very friendly, and I was also very pleased with a the sound insulation.... Read more

We stayed 3 nights in this beautiful, city centre hotel. It's in the old city area in the pedestrian zone, a few metres to Plaza Mayor & Puerta del Sol & within walking distance of many of the other beautiful sights of Madrid. There are numerous cafes, restaurants & bars nearby. The hotel is tastefully decorated in a modern style with all the expected amenities of a 4* hotel. The room was a good size with a separate bathroom. There were plenty of complimentary toiletries, a hairdryer, minibar, s... Read more

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay in the petit palace . Even though rooms are rather small , only stayed in them for sleeping as the hotel is very central to all the action for great food and shops . Bathroom was great even though felt like a soak after our mammoth walks around Madrid but showers good . Rooms kept very clean and tidy . Buffet had lots of variety and our lovely welcoming breakfast waitress Marie - Angeles was full of local information and nothing was too much trouble . Would de... Read more

The hotel is a calm oasis in a lively, bustling part of the city. The room was comfortable with a large selection of toiletries. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. It is conveniently located for bars and restaurants. Do try the Mercardo de San Miguel for drinks and tapas. The Plaza Santa Ana and Plaza del Angel for restaurants are a short walk away and nicer than the restaurants in the Plaza Mayor. The Gran Via, museums, royal palace are all within walking distance as is the Sol met... Read more

Carparking is 100 metres away - although when arriving it is best to put the carpark in your GPS if driving! The hotel is located in a pedestrian zone. The staff are very welcoming and efficient. We stayed for two nights and will stay again. It is a small hotel right on the edge of Plaza Major and is surrounded by small shops and many restaurants. The room we were in had one King size bed and it's own balcony onto the busy street below. We had no problems sleeping but remember, it is in the heart of a lively area of Madrid. Breakfast buffet was Euro11 but worth it with an extensive array of foods, including fresh croissants (NOT day old pastries). There are two bikes available f... Read more

Enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel. We had the quintuplet room and there was a lot of space for a family of 5. We are very lucky to get room right in front of the hotel so we have the view of Calle de la Sal and Postas where is the main pathway for the tourist going into Plaza Mayor.

This hotel is right in the midst of all the action Madrid has to offer. The staff are terrific with no inquiry a problem. My husband has mobility issues and there were no issues using this hotel. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The only negative is the noise that you can hear from the crowds below but considering you are in the heart of the action that should be a given.

Visited madid for a weekend, booked this hotel based solely on TripAdvisor reviews. I cant certainly say we were not let down. Upon arrival (11am) our room wasn't ready however after around 5 minites filling the paperwork in we had a room sorted. The check in person was not very welcoming whether this was a language barrier or just lack of motivation I don't know. The first thing to say about this hotel is that its location just off Plaza Mayor is just about perfect. Dozens of bars and restaurants very close by and equidistant between the Prado and The Royal Palace make this an ideal starting point. The room (No.210) was a good size, as was the bathroom, and a wide if somewhat erratic range of toiletries was very useful. We didn't have breakfast but it looked adequate and the 24 hour supply of coffee was much appreciated. Only snag was the reception staf... Read more

This hotel is a great little hotel in the middle of Madrid. The staff were extremely helpful, especially Stephanie. The hotel is very close to Plaza Mayor (less than 5 minute walk). There are lots of cafes, restaurants, bars and shops close by. And the room rates are very reasonable. Highly recommended.

Small boutique hotel, reasonable price for a fantastic location. Small but ideal for family of 3 who spent plenty of time out and about. Clean tidy and quite quiet for such a city location on a Friday night. Can walk everywhere from there. Staff called a taxi for the airport when we left. Breakfast was good and staff helpful and friendly. Would stay again

The hotel staff was great but our 4th floor room was exceptionally cramped due to the severe slope of the ceiling. There was very little space to stand. Any movement from one side of the room to the other required crouching and ducking. Location is ideal - lots of shopping and Tapas bars, which also creates a lot of late night noise.

We stayed in the patio Palace Malaga hotel only three days earlier and had a great experience. However, although the location of the hotel is great if it is your first time in Madrid or you want to be close to Plaza Mayor for whatever reason, the noise from the street outweighs everything else if you want any sleep. Additionally, our room smelled like a smokers' room and the poor room layout makes the room seem very small.

This hotel couldn't be in a better location. Walk to everything, but it is noisy, well into the night. The room is great except for the awful smell that goes through the whole building. Smells like they have a problem with the sewer - or maybe this is just normal when being in the old town.
