Stayed one night when I arrived in Madrid after a long haul flight. Booked through Qantas. The room was compact with an internal window, but had everything I needed for a night's rest. The bathroom was clean and functional. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served on the rooftop. In addition to its location, the variety of foods - bread, pastries, cheese, meat, tortilla, fresh fruit, cereal etc - was excellent. There was even a green superfood to drink. This historical hote... Read more

Clean room. Nice and helpful people at the reception and a very nice buffet breakfast with a friendly host. Free bike rental. The location of the hotel is in the middle of the shopping streets and very close to Plaza del Sol.

Can't fault the location but I have some issues getting reception to respond to a very simple request and the shower was blocked. Since I checked in first on the first night and there was only one cup in the room, I asked for another cup to be brought in by house keeping for my friend as the booking was for two people the next night. After quite a few requests to no avail, I was told to visit the reception to get it. When I went especially downstairs to get it, receptionist said he thought I w... Read more

Located in the heart of Madrid, you feel that you are right in the middle of things. The rooms are clean & comfortable and with the added balcony, you see Madrid at its best. From this location we never needed a taxi as we could walk to most places and use the bus for the further places. It's location was so convenient. The service was magnificent!!! See, we lost one of our suitcase (NEVER USE VUELING AIRLINES), and the staff were helpful in assisting us with calls as we didn't speak Spanish. Th... Read more

This hotel is perfectly positioned for the centre of Madrid. Positioned right by Puerta Del Sol, only a few minutes walk from the train station. We were greeted in the most delightful manner and offered the best advice about where to go and what to do. The rooms were clean and airy, not much of a view but in the city centre what do you expect? Air con worked well, the wifi was amazingly quick and efficient. Shower and toiletries great! The breakfast was brilliant, on the top floor, some tables a... Read more

Location is in central area madrid , room is clean, in 2 nights stay the first night where in hell because the AC broke and too bad they cannot accommodate us coz all the rooms were taken and no maintenance ppl at 7 pm we gotta wait the next day for service to come at 9 am. One of the reception ladies with the short hair were too rude as if i don't know how the AC works and not even apologizing of the situation and to make situation worse she acted as if well too bad we don't have maintenance du... The hotel is very close to Sol Square and Calle de Mayor which meant easy accessibility to sights and tours and shopping. The staff were very helpful, rooms very good and the breakfast on the roof top was the best. Great choice of foods and drinks, plenty of healthy options and also there was a good play area for children.

Older hotel in the center of Madrid. Rooftop breakfast was good. The room was quite small and was less maintained then our other hotels but certainly adequate. The street below the hotel is a thoroughfare for restaurants and shops. No cars allowed so it was very quiet once the shops closed. Nearby tapas crawl down Calle de la Cruz was super! Close to the Prado as well.

Hotel is really, really nice and staff was SO GREAT. So first we were in small room and it was really small bed but the bathroom was nice and spacious , but bed was right next to curtains and one person was allergic on dust so we ask for bigger room. The other room was really big and the bed was comfortable but our balcony was looking on the main street which was not good because during the night from 24:00 until 02:00 it was so laud that we did not sleep. Otherwise the breakfast was good and t... Read more

Initial impression was not good. Cons: 1. The young man at check-in was dismissive and inconsiderate, not at all welcoming. We actually considered looking for another hotel as we sat in the waiting area and watched him ignore us and our sleepy children for 45 minutes. Finally the 2:00 check-in time came and we were allowed to check in. 2. A very strong fragrance had been sprayed in our room. Not good for those who are sensitive or suffer asthma. Pros: 1. The staff for the rest of the stay wer... Read more
