I would give 5/5 for the location. Hotel is a bit old and is under renovation. The noise of renovation was little annoying. They must have avoided new year holiday season for renovations. I was disappointed with the WiFi speed too. Staff was courteous and friendly. Plug points placement was not convenient.

We stayed 3 nights over the new year Reception staff were welcoming and friendly. We booked a family room but on arrival there was only 1 double bed in our room - having said this it was sorted out immediately. The room was clean and had good decor with a nice size bathroom. The bed was to hard for me - but can't fault the lovely white sheets and lovely fluffy towels. Breakfast- I can only say SHAMBLES! Not enough tables I think this is due to the refurb! So maybe this will get better. I can't ... Read more

This was already my third visit to this comfortable Mercure hotel. This time the hotel was under constuction and three upper floors were not available and breakfast room was smaller than usual. However everything was almost the same than usual. The staff was friendly and professional and householding was very well organized. The room was quite comfortable but requires face lifting. A bathroom was very clean and big enough to one person. Some extra noise was available but during the night everyth... Read more

Set alongside España Square, you get to walk on the Grand Via del Sol Square and major museums. The room is large from the outside, as in presentation, but what he is not from the inside. Breakfast is diversified, but monotonous, no changes from day to day. The actual number is three star hotel, with a good price offer. Considering the described location is taken into account.

Everything was good during my stay in this hotel, the staff is very kind, my room on the 5th floor had a balcony and a nice view on the street, and there are 2 metro stations (Plaza de Espana, Ventura Rodriguez) just near the hotel. I will return in this hotel in the future!

Rooms small, old, but clean. Fridge in the wardrobe. Electric socket not available, quite challenging to find one to charge your devices. Bar closed all the time. Staff at reception very friendly and kind. Location great to city centre, metro station.

The hotel is situated in a street close to Plaza de Espana, within walking distance to Debod temple, royal palace and the central parts. The street is a typcial central Madrid local street, with many bars, restaurants and also shopping. The hotel feels like a traditional spanish hotel. I had a room with roof terrace, which was very nice since the weather was very good. However, the wifi did not reach out to the terrace, so you could not sit outside using your laptop. The room was tastefully f... Read more

I have visited this hotel at least 5 times during the last 10 years, each time it was a delightful experience. the hotel is centrally located at Madrid and its very easy to get anywhere on foot from this location. The breakfast is always fresh and very tasty . and the people at the reception are always very nice and welcoming . There are few shortcomings, but i feel they are minor. the elevator is quite old and it takes quite a long time to go up to the upper floors (but it also is very charmin... Read more

Just had a 5 night stay at this hotel. It was perfect for us and in a great location. Possibly the only 2 downsides, were that the hotel is a little tired/dated internally and our room was very warm. We arrived at around 11:30 in the morning and expected to have to leave our bags in reception and go off until room was ready mid afternoon but our room WAS ready. This was a godsend as we needed a shower and change after travelling. Location: About 300 metres up from Plaza De Espana Metro, down a... Read more
