This hotel is a "Grand old Lady" . Excellent staff and service. Food ok but not fantastic. Really nice Lobby area and bar for afternoon tea, some tapas, or just a drink w friends. Rooms are clean, old style decoration. Thick towels and nice bathrooms. Only some 135 rooms so no machine. Staff make an effort and will remember you which is a nice toch. Rooms have proper keys and no plastic cards. Location is absolutely great and there is limited traffic on the road outside. Summary: if you like an... Read more

As soon as I purchased our airline tickets to Madrid last April, I made reservations through our Whatahotel travel agent at one of my bucket list hotels: The Ritz. I was a little wary about the recent changeover from Belmond to Mandarin Oriental management, and some accounts of the hotel needing renovations, but any concerns melted away the moment we were greeted upon our arrival from the airport. I had arranged in advance for a driver from the Ritz to pick us up at the airport in a house car. ... Read more

Every stay at the Hotel Ritz, Madrid is excellent. With its dedicated, helpful staff and amazing location, you can't have a bad vacation when staying here. The rooms are dated, but that should be fixed soon enough. Even if the rooms were never updated, I'd stay here just for the staff. They're fantastic!

Excellent location right next to all the museums. Rooms were very nice and though we had the "cheapest" type were quite spacious and very well furnished. But most impressive was the service. Across the board extremely helpful. I want to specially recognize one of the concierge Raoul who got us reservations at short notice at some of the best places in town. He also took personal interest in us recommending what we should do and see. Interestingly in the Most economic way knowing we were on vac... Read more

My husband and I have stayed at the Ritz many times, and this time we decided to get a suite. They gave us a great deal, four nights for the price of three and breakfast included. Furthermore, getting a suite entitled us to pick up and drop off at the airport in a beautiful, spacious car. To start with, the concierges at the Ritz are amazing. In one case they were able to get us in to see the Liria Palace with only six months lead time, when normally it can take up to a two year wait to see ... Read more

This is a beautiful historic hotel with a stunning lobby/bar and loyal clientele. The Concierge and reception staff were wonderful and they gave our party adjoining rooms. I was told that Mandarin recently took over and will be updating the hotel soon. In the meantime, the lighting system was crazy and a few things in the room didn't work. The service in the bar was horrible (really surprising for such an elegant setting) and room service breakfast showed up an hour late (we left order on door n... Read more

It's a very nice hotel with a great location. Rooms and bathrooms could be updated but service is great and we found it to be a good value. Returned to tge ritz in Madrid after a long time and was pleasantly surprosed, mostly by its service standards. RoomRoom as nice with an interior courtyard view and bathroom was nice of a bit small. Really appreciated the luxury amenities and heated towel rack. Breakfast was excellent and the outdoor terrace is a great place for a drink or snack, weather... Read more
