excellent location near 2 under ground stations but also near the downtown which is full of shops and walking areas. but the rooms are not luxurious with smell of old closed building inside. the staff are cooperative.

2 night stay, couldn't really complain about anything the staff were very efficient if not over friendly but that's ok. While The rooms could be slightly improved/updated they have everything you need and given we were there for the Football we wouldn't be spending too much time in it so not concerned. The breakfast had a very good selection, but it really is the location that makes this Hotel stand out which will only improve cosmetically when the building works across the street is completed. ... A nice hotel. Would have been nice if the staff had helped my wife get her bags up the rather small entry steps. Clean, great location. Close to nice restaurants and the hop on hop off bus. I enjoyed our time there. Rooms are a bit small, but its Madrid - who cares.

We stayed here both pre and post tour as it was the start and end point. The hotel staff are friendly, speak good English and efficiently check in and out. Cleaning staff are on the ball as early as breakfast. Breakfast is general European with a good spread. Coffee is from a multi choice machine, which seems to be the trend in most places. On our post stay for 3 nights we were given a room that was a bit cramped, had general toilets next to it and was in the passageway to the breakfast roo... Read more

Stayed in this hotel for one night in the weekend because of business close by during the week. Nice staff, good beds and good breakfast. 2 metro stations with multiple lines within walking distance so you can get around easy. Want to go to a Real Madrid match you figure out is happening in 4 hours but is sold out? No worries, the staff will help you get some of the best seats in the stadium.

We stayed here pre (3 nights) and post (1 night) a Back Roads tour in May 2016. We had the junior suite for the longer stay and it was great to have the space and the king size bed. Check their website for good deals - we got the junior suite for A$550 - total cost for 3 nights. The room was also very quiet as it faced a building which was being renovated and therefore unoccupied. Bathroom was also very spacious although no shelf space to put toiletries or washbags, Closet was ample for short st... Read more

This was our second stay at the Quatro Puerta del Sol Hotel. We stayed here four nights this time. We very much like the location - from the hotel, it is a very short walk to the Puerta del Sol, the Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums, and a little longer walk to the Reina Sofia museum, the royal palace, and the Rastro flea market. There are many very good restaurants (budget to more expensive) in the neighborhood. The hotel staff are helpful, friendly, and multilingual. The buffet breakfast is... Read more

This hotel was very nice. The staff was exceptionally friendly, polite and helpful. We had booked a suite there and it was not available when we arrived. We were offered two separate rooms at no extra charge and were lucky that the rooms were next to each other so it was perfect. They also gave us free breakfasts every morning to compensate so we were happy.

This four star hotel is in a great position for accessing the key attractions (Prado Museum) and shopping (off and around the Puerta del Sol). While the hotel doesn't have a restaurant serving dinner there are some great choices in eating places in close proximity such as the Cafe del Principe. We were impressed with the tourist safety briefing given by staff; we were advised to be very careful about the pick-pockets working the local area and the measures that we could take to prevent running i... We stayed there for five days last month. The location is great. There is a lot of construction around so the views are not as nice as you see lot of cranes but you can still some nice buildings depending on what room you are in. The hotel itself is an older building but looks modern from inside. The location is perfect, 2 minutes from Sol, tons of restaurants/cafes around, Close to Metro/train stations. The b'fast was very nice and staff was overall quite friendly. The Wi-Fi was a bit slow. A... Read more

Stayed here in March, 2015. The location was great - right in the middle of everything. Hotel staff were friendly and very accommodating. Room was to have been non-smoking, but obviously was not. Hotel staff had me check out another room to see if it would suffice and it did. They were pleasant about it. The city is alive at all hours of the wee morning and you can definitely hear the buzz from your room, even with windows closed. That added to the whole experience for us. Accommodations... Read more

My husband, daughter and I stayed here in mid-July, our first stop in Spain on an 8-day trip. The location of the hotel is centrally located to explore Madrid on foot. The breakfast buffet was abundant with fruit, eggs, pastries, cereal, ham, cheese, anything you would want and was included in our room price. We had a triple room which was clean, quiet and comfortable. Those at the front desk were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel has a good location. It's very close to the Puerta del Sol and Museo Prado. And other things. The staff is very friendly and try to speak your language. The room is good. The pillow was too small and low. I recommend the hotel. It's easy to have a breakfast around it.

Located in the heart of Madrid. Very close to metro station and there are lots of restaurants, bars, cafes around the hotel. Breakfast is also good as well as the free wifi connection. If you are looking for a centrally located accommodation in Madrid, this hotel is a real value for money.

I loved! It was 3 of us and in a small room we had plenty of space to accommodate our belongings and to rest. Comfortable beds, air conditioner, good toiletries and good towels, very clean, he breakfast buffet very very good and the price the best, affordable and you have a variety of selections among drinks, sweets and salty food that always look and taste fresh, people who work there also very nice. I will go back if I had to.

The staff are helpful and friendly , the rooms are small with on suite bathroom divided by a glass obscured door . The real problem with this hotel is at 7.30 am each morning we got woken by builders working on a huge building directly opposite . On each side of the hotel there is major building work being carried out on a massive scale . When I opened the curtains on our room ( 208 ) I was looking straight into the builders face directly opposite on the scaffold . This is work will be going o... Read more

On the whole this is a perfect hotel for visiting Madrid. The location is great and within walking distance of most of the popular sights. The metro and buses are also close by for those who cannot walk too far. The room was spacious and very clean. Unfortunately the large balcony was not able to be used as there was no shelter from the hot sun all day. A sunshade of some sort would have been very useful. The bathroom was again very spacious but a word of warning for less able guests as the showe... Read more

This was such a great hotel with a perfect location. Walking distance to all the touristy places. We stayed in the top floor and the room had two balconies overlooking the city, one of them had a sitting area. There was a breakfast place below the hotel I recommend. The hotel was clean and staff was friendly.

Many of the galleries need a refresh, but the art collection is amazing. I was wonderfully surprised by the quality of the American Art collection. It was a treat to see such a substantial collection outside the United States.

My first hotel in Spain exceeded my expectations. The rooms were modern, spacious and ours came with a balcony area which was perfect for an early evening beverage. Right on the doorstep of central old town, the location couldn't be faulted. Great value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location right in the centre of Madrid. Close to Sol and Sevilla metro stations. Room was surprisingly quiet considering location. Room was a bit small with slightly bland decor and the bathroom door was just frosted glass which didn't allow much privacy. Lovely big windows let in a lot of light during the day. Black out curtains kept the room dark at night/ early morning. Good air con. Sadly the bed was Extremely hard and not very comfortable. Great breakfast selection but dining r... Read more

Stayed here for three nights. Good spacy rooms. My room was not on the newly renovated floor but ok. Surroundings is quite. Room was clean neat and tidy. Quick wifi. Good breakfast. The awfulness with hotel is that you have to pass the smokers area to get to the elevators. Painfully bad. My clothes smelled really bad every time when I came up to my room. Pointed out the possibility for the receptionist she wasn't interested or had any competence in the English language.

We stayed three nights before and three nights after our Andalusia tour in September 2016. This modern and quiet hotel is perfectly located in the historical center, only 10 minutes from all interesting sites (Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Plaza de Cibeles, Museo del Prado, etc.). The first three nights, we had a very small room (501) and the other three nights we had a large and bright room with three windows (602) which was much more confortable. The air conditioning was efficient and the bed w... Read more

If I had written this review about the first room we stayed in on the second floor, this would have been a 3/5 rating, but the 7th floor room was much better, more spacious and had a terrace. The room on the lower floor was small and basic with a hard bed, but the 7th floor room had hanging space, more amenities, a larger floor area and more power points. The breakfast was varied, but the hot food was tepid at best. There are lots of places to eat nearby, and I would recommend La Catedral, which... Read more
