This hotel is situated in the heart of Madrid's gran Via which is brilliant as everything is close like the Lion King theatre is like just across the street and other theatres are minutes away, Callao Cines are at the top of the hill opposite to a four floor massive Primark. This hotel is 10 min away walking from hotel to Sol and to Plaza Mayor. The hotel has a great shower with a good pressure and there's a safe, ironing board , fridge, TV , radio and kettle with cups and Free Wifi. Beds are ve... Read more

Clean, comfortable and quiet. The spa is well equipped although there is a slight smell of drains but it's not strong or constant. Sadly the roof top wasn't open yet but we took advantage of the spa. Great breakfast variety and friendly staff

The room was perfect and larger than some rooms in Madrid hotels. It was very comfortable and although our room overlooked the Gran Via we heard no traffic noise at all. There was a small fridge and although there were only complementary small bottles of water the first day we are seasoned travellers so we stocked our fridge with water and milk from a nearby supermarket. We always travel with our own teabags so that was not a problem. The bathroom was big with an excellent shower and bath. The b... Read more

The Senator Gran Via 70 Spa Hotel is is an excellent position for visiting this absolutely beautiful and exciting city. Set right in the heart of theatre land and close to all major shopping and attractions. The subway, which is a cheap, convenient and speedy way to get around is very close by. Outside the hotel are major shops, bars and restaurants. Major attractions like Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol are in walking distance. The Spa in the hotel is free to residents between 10am and 12 noon and... Read more

Good Hotel . Good service. Well served breakfast but the waiters a little to much busy cleaning the tables and not paying too much attention to the guest. Rooms are quite large and the bathroom was clean and tidy.

We visited Madrid for business and having a central place for our stay was important. Senator Gran Via Hotel was comparatively expensive compared to similar hotels, the main reason being its very central location. It offers easy access to the pedestrianised area of the City, that allow you to visit restaurants, clubs, bars and other places for recreation with ease. It is definitely not a modern hotel and unless we had specifically booked a bedroom for 3 (we were only 2 people), it would feel ... Read more

Very nice location, clean hotel, friendly staff. On the day off my birthday we decided to have breakfast in bed and the food was terrible and poorly presented, the utensils were not clean. This was a surprise we did not expect such poor standards from a 4 star hotel. However do not be discouraged to stay at the hotel, it's located in e heart of the City of Madrid in walking distance to a lot of cafés, Restaurants, bars, strip clubs and shops. The spar down stairs in the basement is very good. T... Read more

First let me tell you this hotel is greatly located as has subway station less than 100 meters away and is on Gran Via avenue which is one of the best locations you would want to be while visiting the city, just 10 mins walk to plaza Callao, less than 5 minutes walking to Plaza de España, second the hotel is a four star class for Spain which doesn't necessary meets American standards however the breakfast is awesome, to give you some hints, fresh orange juice made instantly when you serve yours... We loved our stay here last year, so we booked again. We again had a fantastic stay. The very spacious and quiet room, the large and comfortable beds, the good air conditioner, the iron/ironing board, the closet, and hangers, the safety box, the big TV, the kettle/tea tray. Also, we really loved and appreciated the shower - the large shower head and lots of water. We don't remember having any incovenience and were able to relax very much. We would like to stay again, next time we visit Mad... Read more

Location was good and there was a nice view from the roof. The A/C would automatically turn off when you left the room. After being out all day in late June, the temp was at least 95 on the room and took several hours to cool. Also, no A/C in bathroom or foyer.

Great central location for exploring Madrid. The Metro from the airport was easy to negotiate with just one change. The hotel was comfortable, air conditioning very effective and use of the spa included. All areas of Madrid were within walking distance. Would recommend

The location is good, very close to hop on bus stop and to Metro station. The reception staff were very pleasant and very helpful. The room was large, well equipped and excellent bathroom. Great to have a kettle as our experience of Spanish hotels is that this is unusual. It was nice to have the two free bottles of water but surprised they weren't replaced once used. It said that all non alcoholic drinks in the minibar were free - but there were only the two bottles of water in there, nothing... Read more

Hotel was reserved by my travel agent about a month or so. I didn't expect a 5 US stars hotel but neither expected what I got. First when you enter the hotel there is an odor that doesn't smell good. Once we were assigned a room, the first impression is to a humid and dusty one. Although it wasn't dusty, the humidity was high enough that it stinks. Went down to reception, but they indicated that there is no other room available. When I saw the bathtub, is unacceptable. Mold on the tiles like if... Read more

Stayed at the Senator for 3 nights. Great location for exploring what this great city has to offer. Check in was smooth and efficient. We had room 806 which was perfect! Clean stylish big spacious rooms with comfy beds and the added bonus of a terrace. Air-con was freezing cold. We used the SPA which was great for a chill out after touring the city. overall would definitely recommend this hotel when visiting Madrid.

King size rooms are good size & have lovely cornices however furniture is bit 1970's & although obviously recently decorated not in keeping with room. Breakfast are can be bot cramped If busy & buffet only has small volumes out at a time. Although Spa facilities made available only free between 10 -12am - not ideal ! Nice roof terrace with jaccuzis but very busy. Decent location for getting about with most attractions within 30 min walk.

We recently stayed at the Senator Gran Via for 2 nights during our recent visit to Madrid. The hotel is located in the heart of the city with access to shopping centers, restaurants and public transport at a stones throw distance from it. The staff of the hotel are welcoming and very warm, always ready with a map and their pen if you want to explore the city on your own. The rooms are well kept and the breakfast buffet had a wide spread of local and regional cuisine. I would recommend this place... Read more

Hotel maybe a little dated. But. It has a lot of charm. Friendly staff. Got a lovely room with terrace which was huge and had the most amazing view of Madrid. On the roof is a sun terrace with beds and two large jacuzzis. Perfect. Right in the heart of Madrid. So perfect for getting around. As said. Dated. So if you want the boutique look don't book here. But don't let that get in the way of a lovely hotel.

An excellent hotel in a very central location for sightseeing in Madrid. Located near the Plaza de Espana and on the tourist bus route. I stayed here with a group of travellers earlier this year and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. There was a tea and coffee shop on site which was an added bonus. I would certainly stay here again!

The hotel is well located - metros nearby and other tourist sites in walking distance. The room was comfortable- plenty of wood in the room and marble in the bathroom. While on a busy road, the noise was virtually nil due to the double double windows. The lights are a bit tricky with a couple of master switches and the a/c only worked after a maintenance chap visited to fix the baffles - then it was fine. Downstairs is disappointing. We had our choice of restaurants, some off the beaten path and the regular tourist offerings on the Gran Via.
