Off course its a hotel, right on the Gran Via near metro station plaza d'Espagna.. 4 star with a grand façade... But once you enter you understand you have just a hotel on a good location, near the metro...not the metro line with the best connections for a tourist ... Than you come in and get ignored by receptionist talking among themselves and.. you know this is not a four star hotel. After check in you get instructed to go to the coffee shop on the ground flour (part of a chain found everywh... Read more

Entrance to hotel strong old building smell luckily it's just the lobby- room was nice & comfy, pros- good size, comfy beds and pillows-issues with a/c could it get it to cool, no hair conditioner counted on hotel provisions but they didn't have, blower hardly blows and had two ask for third towel every time as we paid for three person room they never made the connection. Con -chose this hotel because of the pool but could never use because only free to use 10a-12p we were out at that time and w... Read more

Traveled with a friend. Ordered a twin room which was very big. Two double beds . Very comfortable. Location is amazing. Makes up for the minor downfalls. Breakfast is quit good. Freshly squeezed orange juice every morning was quite a treat. Staff were great. The hotel is a bit old and the room smelled of sewarege once or twice . Even so I would definitely come back. Very valuable in my opinion!

This hotel was much better than we expected for the cheap short break we booked! It is in a great position and you can walk to a lot of the main tourist places. If you don't walk taxis are plentiful and the hop on hop off tourist bus goes right past. That is a really good way to get your bearings . We were upgraded to rooms with terraces which weren't really what you want in December but as they were on the 10th floor the views were superb and it was nice to have a bit of fresh air as the rooms ... Nice hotel, in the middle of everything. For parking you have to inform you well. Not easy to get there. Stop first at the front of the hotel to unload your luggage. Then in walking distance, you can visit some nice atractions for photographs.

The location of the hotel is fantastic - close to shops, bars and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and modern. Our bedrooms weren't next to each other (as we were a party of 5) but there was only one door between. The receptionist who checked us in didn't speak much and didn't really give us any information about the facilities at all. The beds were nice and big, lovely clean bathroom and plenty of wardrobe space. Breakfast was ok - not great choice and the same all 3 days but f... Read more

I have stayed in this hotel many times over the last few years and it is always my first choice of accommodation in Madrid city. The hotel is in a central location There are good shops, restaurant and bars nearby. The staff are very friendly and helpful in providing me with plenty of information about Madrid. The hotel room is cleaned very thoroughly and the rooms are very spacious.

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The location could not be better, within walking distance of most of the sights one would want to see. We had our choice of restaurants, some off the beaten path and the regular tourist offerings on the Gran Via. We were offered a room upgrade when we arrived, and it was the best room we had during our time in Spain. It had two very comfortable queen-sized beds and a view of the Gran Via. The only downside to the room was the theater lights that blink... Read more

Picked this place for the location and I was not wrong ! The interior needs a bit of refurbishment but it is acceptable giving the extremely central location. Breakfast is not included but there are plenty of bars around. Great nightlife too and of course very well connected by public transport. It is so central you can walk anywhere in central Madrid in around 20 mins. Spot on for weekend breaks.

I have used trip advisor many times and always found it useful so have decided it is time to start my own reviews. This is the first and I will say it as it is, so hope it helps. The Senator Gran Via was as it says on Gran Via so central and ideal for cafes, bars and restaurants. Despite being on a very busy street the hotel was quiet, no noise in the rooms. Rooms were comfortable, large beds and all the facilities you need, including coffee, tea. Free safe in room. The Spa was fantastic and wel... Read more
