To be honest my first impression of the hotel wasn't the best due to the size and design of the room. However the toilet (which happens to be the most important space) was excellently designed and well-appointed. It made my stay really comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for a walking tour of Madrid city. Whether it was shopping, eating or sightseeing, the hotel was in a fantastic location. The staff were very helpful with assisting me to plan a day tour and overall service wa... Read more

Our room was initially a 'Superior room' which had a view - of a 10x10 shaft. We were able to upgrade to a junior suite for a modest extra. Fantastic. The staff and services were excellent. Breakfast was predictable, but excellent. My only complaint is that the room descriptions should be somewhat more open. This is an old property (in outstanding condition) so very few rooms have street views. Call before you book.

Stayed for 5 days . This is a boutique hotel located right opposite Prado museums with a beautiful view of fountain (if you stay in room with view). The rooms are not large but cozy, carpeted & has all the facilities that makes it nice to return to the room each day. ..... liked that Nepresso machine with range of coffee capsules & free WiFi which worked faultlessly . We stayed in this hotel both at the beginning and end of our trip ro Spain. The first room, (205) was at the front of the building, overlooking Paseo del Prado. Althought this is a main road there was no traffic noise in the room. The spacious room was well supplied with toiletries, coffee making facilities, robes and slippers. The two night stay at the end of the trip was room 707, which overlooked a light well, had most of facilities mentioned earlier, but it was very cramped and less comfort... Read more

Excellently situated across from the Prado museum (a must visit ). Ask for a room overlooking the fountain. We were upgraded when we arrived. Amazing views of life on the streets. Great staff very accommodating and helpful. They have interior rooms with no windows since this hotel is quite old. Try to avoid while booking if this is an issue for you.

You already know this hotel is in a great spot, but its always hard to know what the room will be like when you are considering making a booking. I had a Superior Room with View, which is one up from the basic Superior Room. I have often found travelling in some parts of Europe that the star rating system is not reliable, so I was very happy to be surprised by the beautiful room, lovely bathroom and great view. Everything was clean, good linen. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakf... Read more

Everything about this hotel is just beautiful. Nice, warm welcome with a free glass of Cava and very helpful with e.g. booking a table in a nearby restaurant. The room was extraordinary (we had the Suite) and everything was tidy and clean. This hotel is really recommendable.

We stayed at the NH Collection Paseo del Prado to be close to the heart of Madrid. It was perfect! We could walk to the three major museums, the Retiro - the fantastic park, and all the night life you could want. Our room was comfortable, and there is all the nespresso, and tea you want in your room. They left us additional bottles of water as well. We opted for the breakfast, which we found to be anything you could possibly want, including fresh eggs made to your order.

We spent 3 nights at NH Prado on the 6th floor in a double room facing the inside courtyard. The downside of the courtyard rooms is that we did not have any direct sunlight and lacked privacy if we kept the blinds open (other guest windows are just a couple of meters away). (Room) The size of our room met expectations for a large European city - a little space around the bed (Euro-style two single beds together), a small desk/tv table and two cabinets - enough storage to put my things out of t... Compared to its 5 star competitors, in the same area this hotel is way too expensive for what it offers. Rooms are small, bathrooms need redo. And most importantly their air conditioning system did not work.we do not recommend this hotel. The Palace next door and even the Ritz were at the same price.

One can not truly express, in words, the beauty, the variety of the food and friendliness of the people that we have met while in Madrid. They were warm, gracious and always greeted you with a smile... And that holds true to the wonderful people we've met at the NH collections Paseo deal Prado. Pros: NH is considered a 5 star hotel on my lists of many visited hotels in the US and Europe. This hotel was perfect in every way. Centrally located and easy to walk to anywhere in downtown Madrid. The room was so quiet I sleep like a baby each night which was quite a surprise given that the hotel was located at a busy intersection with lots of traffic. Enjoyed the stay. Everything was first class. I would mention about the dining room. We were not aware it was downstairs until the morning we were leaving. Suggest that the staff notify all quests when they arrive that the restaurant is downstairs and that they serve breakfast and dinner. If we had known, we would have had dinner at the restaurant. We heard it was very good and on our last day we went to the restaurant for breakfast and was very pleased both with the service and the food.

We stayed here as my husband had business in Madrid and this is the hotel his work is affiliated with. The location couldn't be better, on a busy street right opposite the Prado museum and right near the very beautiful Buen Retiro park in Madrid. The hotel looks great from outside, old fashioned and stylish, however the interior is tired. The carpets are old abd worn out, the colours faded or dirty. Al quite drab. The concierge staff were hit or miss. Sometimes friendly and helpful and other tim... Read more

The people at the front desk were extremely courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. The washrooms were clean and the shower pressure was very good. Wifi was great. Excellent location, close to all the major tourist attractions. Good restaurants and cafés nearby, VIPS is highly recommended.

We loved the walk-ability of this hotel. We were able to easily get to all the major sights and neighborhoods we wanted to see. The staff were very accommodating. The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast that features all the typical buffet items plus personalized eggs, smoothie bar, and lattes. The rooms were large, well appointed and soundproofed from road noise. The only criticism I have is that the carpeting was a bit old and could use a deep cleaning.

We stayed there to be near a friend, who was at a hotel nearby, and the NH can easily be our favourite hotel in Madrid. It is walking distance to El Prado and Gran Via. The service as soon as you walk in is fantastic. We had originally booked not to have breakfast since we like to go to cafes and have the traditional Spanish breakfast, but we went to the hotel's and it was AMAZING! The presentation, the taste, quality, service. The next time we stay, we will definitely book with breakfast! Highl... Read more

We had the most amazing time celebrating our anniversary at this superb hotel. I emailed the hotel in advance to let them know it was our anniversary, and the wonderful Lilian (Guest relations) helped me organise the occasion. We upgraded (very cheaply) to the Suite, Lilian sent up Cava and chocolates to our room, and organised a table at a restaurant for the evening. The Suite was fabulous, huge and comfortable with a lovely big jacuzzi. It was a real treat. I stay in hotels all around the worl... Read more

Wonderfully located, beautifully appointed rooms and a gracious and helpful staff. We are most appreciative of the front desk staff who supplied us with necessary items for the first two days while our luggage was delayed and especially the lovely woman who noticed my birthday upon check-in and sent up a surprise treat to make it special. Additionally, we appreciate Pablo's efforts to track down the missing luggage with the airline. All in all, a beautiful hotel with thoughtful staff.

The hotel is on the Paseo del Prado right at the Neptune Fountain. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the bathrooms are excellent. Despite overlooking the fountain there was hardly any street noise in the room. The room had coffee and tea making facilities and a well stocked mini bar. There was also a very large flat screen TV with a wide range of channels. It takes 20 to 25 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport by taxi and costs â?¬30. You can also get to the hotel using the unde... Read more

This hotel earns a very high rating due in large part to the friendly helpful staff. Special thanks to Carlos, Javier and Ana for service above the norm. They all showed great effort in resolving travel issues in and beyond the hotel. We had a dreadfully small room the first night and made a change the following day to a larger, brighter more user friendly space. Cutting a half star for that experience. The rest was world class..quiet and comfortable and an outstanding breakfast buffet. Lo... Read more

Do yourself a favour and book your room WITH breakfast. Yes it has its price, but it is worth the experience. During a long life, I have travelled all continents and stayed in many of the finest hotels, and this breakfast is the best. Ever.

Galleries to the left, galleries to the right, parks close by! Right in the heart of the main attractions in Madrid. Across from the Prado a few minutes from the Thyssen and the Reina Sofia galleries as well as the Retiro. This hotel is in the best location possible and near to Atocha station too.

this was great experience. we came to Madrid for four nights, to what was our first visit in this city. it was great. the city is great, and what made things even greater was the hotel. the room was lovely- until we had a problem, which was treated immediately, and we moved to another room, which actually was an upgrade. the new room, of course, was just as good as the first one minus the problems, plus some nice additions - but either room was great. the staff was very forthcoming and very nic... You could not get a better location than this--it is right across the street from the Prado museum, which is worth spending time in. And the hotel was top notch all the way, including the turn-down service with sweets at night. The breakfast was exceptional--a bit pricey, but worth it. If you can find a deal that includes breakfast, go for it. But beware--Spain in early September can be really hot!

The NH Paseo del Prado offers all the amenities you'd ever need or want with a fabulous location. All within walking distance of most major sites & very accessible to others by bus or taxi. And despite its central location the rooms are incredibly quiet and well insulated against noise. The staff is truly first rate- well informed with useful tips on where to go & how to get there--and always quick to respond to any need.

First night in Madrid, and our launch point to walk the Camino de Santiago. The staff was beyond helpful with everything from directions to accessing international services on our cell phone. Rooms clean and quiet. The hotel is near many attractions and restaurants. Yes, we would return.

I had mixed feelings about this hotel. It is nice, and in a nice area of Madrid. But it could use upkeep. The carpet is, apparently, a very special type of handmade carpet. But it is stained and filthy, and made me feel like the room was dirty. The room was ok. I hated the shower. You had to walk up two stairs and step down into a jacuzzi tub to get to the shower, Thank God I am able-bodied. I can think of a lot of people that would have been forced to go without a shower. It needs to be a bit... Read more

Hotel is located right across the Prado Museum. From here, it was an easy walk to Plaza Santa Anna, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, and to museums Thyssen and Reina Sofia. Train station is a 10 minute walk. Cabs are parked right outside the door. Hop on, hop off buses are across the street. So many places to eat and drink! I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed two nights here at the end of a three week vacation. It suited our purposes perfectly. Location: easy walking distance from Atocha train station. Opposite both the Prado and the Thyssen and a short walk to Sol and Plaza Mayor or north to the trendier areas. (Check out DSTAgE = fantastic restaurant !!!) Reception: excellent. They all speak English fluently and were very helpful throughout, whether it was giving directions, printing tickets or giving advice on travel times to the air... Read more

This hotel is fabulously located opposite the Prado Museum and very close to the Thyssen. The reception staff are very helpful and the hotel serves an excellent and varied breakfast. The bathroom though smallish had everything needed the best shower we had during 3 weeks touring Europe. We had a very quiet room at the back of the hotel. Rooms at the front would have great views over the Prado and park but are on a busy road so not sure how quiet they are.

This hotel is right in the middle of the tourist area and is within walking distance to all the major attractions. The rooms were not big but the facilitaties are great. Furthermore, they have lovely bathrooms with good toiletries provided. We were also offered a glass of cava each at the bar on arrival, although we both do not drink. Staff were friendly and helpful.
