To be honest my first impression of the hotel wasn't the best due to the size and design of the room. However the toilet (which happens to be the most important space) was excellently designed and well-appointed. It made my stay really comfortable. The location of the hotel was perfect for a walking tour of Madrid city. Whether it was shopping, eating or sightseeing, the hotel was in a fantastic location. The staff were very helpful with assisting me to plan a day tour and overall service wa... Read more

Our room was initially a 'Superior room' which had a view - of a 10x10 shaft. We were able to upgrade to a junior suite for a modest extra. Fantastic. The staff and services were excellent. Breakfast was predictable, but excellent. My only complaint is that the room descriptions should be somewhat more open. This is an old property (in outstanding condition) so very few rooms have street views. Call before you book.

Stayed for 5 days . This is a boutique hotel located right opposite Prado museums with a beautiful view of fountain (if you stay in room with view). The rooms are not large but cozy, carpeted & has all the facilities that makes it nice to return to the room each day. ..... liked that Nepresso machine with range of coffee capsules & free WiFi which worked faultlessly . We stayed in this hotel both at the beginning and end of our trip ro Spain. The first room, (205) was at the front of the building, overlooking Paseo del Prado. Althought this is a main road there was no traffic noise in the room. The spacious room was well supplied with toiletries, coffee making facilities, robes and slippers. The two night stay at the end of the trip was room 707, which overlooked a light well, had most of facilities mentioned earlier, but it was very cramped and less comfort... Read more

Excellently situated across from the Prado museum (a must visit ). Ask for a room overlooking the fountain. We were upgraded when we arrived. Amazing views of life on the streets. Great staff very accommodating and helpful. They have interior rooms with no windows since this hotel is quite old. Try to avoid while booking if this is an issue for you.

You already know this hotel is in a great spot, but its always hard to know what the room will be like when you are considering making a booking. I had a Superior Room with View, which is one up from the basic Superior Room. I have often found travelling in some parts of Europe that the star rating system is not reliable, so I was very happy to be surprised by the beautiful room, lovely bathroom and great view. Everything was clean, good linen. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The breakf... Read more

Everything about this hotel is just beautiful. Nice, warm welcome with a free glass of Cava and very helpful with e.g. booking a table in a nearby restaurant. The room was extraordinary (we had the Suite) and everything was tidy and clean. This hotel is really recommendable.

We stayed at the NH Collection Paseo del Prado to be close to the heart of Madrid. It was perfect! We could walk to the three major museums, the Retiro - the fantastic park, and all the night life you could want. Our room was comfortable, and there is all the nespresso, and tea you want in your room. They left us additional bottles of water as well. We opted for the breakfast, which we found to be anything you could possibly want, including fresh eggs made to your order.

We spent 3 nights at NH Prado on the 6th floor in a double room facing the inside courtyard. The downside of the courtyard rooms is that we did not have any direct sunlight and lacked privacy if we kept the blinds open (other guest windows are just a couple of meters away). (Room) The size of our room met expectations for a large European city - a little space around the bed (Euro-style two single beds together), a small desk/tv table and two cabinets - enough storage to put my things out of t... Compared to its 5 star competitors, in the same area this hotel is way too expensive for what it offers. Rooms are small, bathrooms need redo. And most importantly their air conditioning system did not work.we do not recommend this hotel. The Palace next door and even the Ritz were at the same price.

One can not truly express, in words, the beauty, the variety of the food and friendliness of the people that we have met while in Madrid. They were warm, gracious and always greeted you with a smile... And that holds true to the wonderful people we've met at the NH collections Paseo deal Prado. Pros: NH is considered a 5 star hotel on my lists of many visited hotels in the US and Europe. This hotel was perfect in every way. Centrally located and easy to walk to anywhere in downtown Madrid. The room was so quiet I sleep like a baby each night which was quite a surprise given that the hotel was located at a busy intersection with lots of traffic. Across the street from the Prado Museum and very close to the train station. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from our hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Although the rooms were small they were very clean. Wish we would have upgraded to the street view, our room faced the inside.

Enjoyed the stay. Everything was first class. I would mention about the dining room. We were not aware it was downstairs until the morning we were leaving. Suggest that the staff notify all quests when they arrive that the restaurant is downstairs and that they serve breakfast and dinner. If we had known, we would have had dinner at the restaurant. We heard it was very good and on our last day we went to the restaurant for breakfast and was very pleased both with the service and the food.

The location couldn't be better, on a busy street right opposite the Prado museum and right near the very beautiful Buen Retiro park in Madrid. The hotel looks great from outside, old fashioned and stylish, however the interior is tired. The carpets are old abd worn out, the colours faded or dirty. Al quite drab. We loved the walk-ability of this hotel. We were able to easily get to all the major sights and neighborhoods we wanted to see. The staff were very accommodating. The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast that features all the typical buffet items plus personalized eggs, smoothie bar, and lattes. The rooms were large, well appointed and soundproofed from road noise. The only criticism I have is that the carpeting was a bit old and could use a deep cleaning.

The service as soon as you walk in is fantastic. Wonderfully located, beautifully appointed rooms and a gracious and helpful staff. We are most appreciative of the front desk staff who supplied us with necessary items for the first two days while our luggage was delayed and especially the lovely woman who noticed my birthday upon check-in and sent up a surprise treat to make it special. Additionally, we appreciate Pablo's efforts to track down the missing luggage with the airline. All in all, a beautiful hotel with thoughtful staff.

And the hotel was top notch all the way, including the turn-down service with sweets at night. The breakfast was exceptional--a bit pricey, but worth it.
