The hotel was nice, I liked that each of the 12 floors had a different theme going on, me and my partner stayed on the 1st floor (space club) the room and bath room were really nice but the bed was a little hard for my liking... The hotel location was good too, close local supermarket and tram station... And about a 20min walk to the town centre...

Stayed for 3 nights, although a bit out of centre metro is a2 min walk ,after reading reviews we picked 10th floor views amazing .The room is Japanese themed including a huge wooden bath it's amazing ,nice toiletries included. Would really have liked a different room every night just to see what others are like kept stopping the lift at the different floors thinking I should have picked this floor .Breakfast has everything you could want from fresh fruit to carrot cake! I had heard a lot about the Silken Puerta America Hotel in Madrid, with its floors created by different designers and architects. The place is a trip! I stayed for one night. The hotel is outside the city centre, close to the airport, but also steps away from the excellent Madrid Metro. Check-in was greatâ?¦very friendly staff. I chose one of the Zaha Hadid rooms on the first floor. Itâ??s a wild room that is perhaps not the most comfortable or practical but a fun experience. Itâ??s fun to check... Read more

I stayed in Silken Puerta America Madrid hotel in late April 2016 for a corporate seminar. The hotel is putting himself as a boutiqur hotel with all the floors having different design flavor. It's probably their selling points with a different interior designer/architect for each of their floors. I had a room on the 2nd floor with a minimalist white design. So minimalist that they pushed the sleekness up to doorless bathroom giving full view on your neighboors. Just don't forget to pull the cur... Read more

This is the second time I stayed at the Silken in Puerta America, (the hotel that the cab drivers call "the colored one" ;) ) and I cannot recommend it more. I love the fact that every floor has a different design and in the floor itselt the rooms also vary in color. It really makes every stay at silken unique and the design itself is such a nice beakout of the usual "hotelroom" design. At receptions during Check-In the staff will show you the available rooms so you may chose the design accordi... Read more

We were originally meant to stay at this hotel in September 2015, but had to change our dates due to unforeseen circumstances. The hotel was more than happy to change our dates for us which meant we didn't lose out on what we had paid. Upon arrival, the reception allows you to choose which floor you'd like to stay on - they have an iPad with pictures etc. We stayed on the 3rd floor designed by David Chipperfield as this is the only floor that has smoking rooms (my partner smokes). The room did... Read more

Good for events and to impress clients, not to stay. The rooms are thought to impress for their design, not for their comfort and convenience. So it's not the place to relax and rest. Maybe the place for events or to take your couple for one night.

Really loved staying here and would do so again next time in Madrid. The different theme floors are great and makes everyone chat so it creates a real friendly atmosphere at the hotel. Service was awesome and a very handy location. The beds in some themes are hard so make sure you ask about that when checking in and selecting a room theme if you have a choice.

Having had a very nice time here last time we visited in January, we booked again in June. We got a room on the seventh floor I think (red bathroom fittings, round-shaped bed). The views were lovely from the room and we liked the decor. The bed is a bit short if you're around 6ft tall, since it's round and so the middle is the longest part of the bed. Having said that, this is a feature of the rooms on the seventh floor, and was not an issue on the other floors we've stayed on last time (2 and 1... Read more

Very good hotel with designer floors all around. Location of the hotel is not perfect (metro cartagena 5 minutes away or bus to town a couple of streets further up the road although it will take 45min). The hotel is also providing a shuttle to town and to the airport, but seats are limited so make yourselves known at the reception. The staff is super helpful and worth 5 stars (valet parking !). The bar is nice and the staff there is also courteous and professional. The car park is huge and clean... Read more

When you go to a five star hotel you expect the best service and the best rooms ... Well it was not really what we experienced. First disappointment was the room we got : the tv was not working well, limited number of plugs and only one was working, the hairdryer didn't work. On top of that and despite the fact that international design a designed the rooms, when we took a shower the bathroom was flooded ! The following day we have asked for a new room that was much better but still not at the ... Read more

We stayed at in a Space Club room by Zaha Hadid which was something straight out of the future. The room design and appointment was just impeccable. Check-in process was a breeze and the hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. It was very easy to reach the city centre via metro, there is a station within a few hundred meters from the hotel.

Come for business purpose, hotel is picked by partner. Rooms in each hotel floor are designed by different designers. My floor is designed by Norman Foster, so theme is stainless steel. Whole floor is covered by stainless steel. As a note, be careful after getting out of lift, as there is a stainless 'obstacle' just outside the lift. Most people will not notice it and will hit it. Room is also covered by stainless steel, including the bath tub. I was nearly slipped during bathing. If you l... Read more

Everything perfect but be careful if you travel with kids. They are apparently welcome at Lagrimas Negras restaurant terrace but staff privileged other customers if kids play normally -they are kids- and that can ruin your dinner. Staff -bell boys, front desk- are extremely nice and friendly. Rooms are space full and contemporary like. Gym and swimming pool are not remarkable as space is limited and there are no views since the terrace is devoted to a night bar. Other than that, very good hotel... Read more

We arrived at the hotel on Sat 9th July 2016, after waiting only a few minutes we were greeted and checked in. You get to choose a room from the ipads on the check in desk! This was a fab idea! Each floor has a different theme and it was cool riding the glass elevator seeing all of them! The room was very clean and spacious with a huge bed and bath, and the views from the 11th floor are superb! We didn't use room service but it is available. The shower was divine! This hotel is so amazing I had to leave it and go to a regular cafe just to regain my composure! The decor is simply unbelievable. A unique design on each floor ranging from a winter wonderland to a warped glass cavern maze! Only negative to report is that the design of our glass room meant you could sort of see each other sitting on the toilet! They'd done their best to put a non-transparent partition in between but not the best if you have an upset stomach! A snazzy bar at the top and a decent... Read more

Firstly I have to say this is a wonderfully designed building, however you must be willing to accept design over functionality. I booked a Zaha Hadid bedroom, because of my love of her architecture. When arrived I was told by reception whether I actually wanted a Zaha Hadid roo, my reply was yes that's what I booked, I was then told there were no rooms available I expressed my disappointed especially as I had booked some weeks earlier. The hotel design is different for each floor, when you check in, you can choose your room decoration based on the floor design. Each floor is having its own very original design (you may love or hate it !), the rooms are large and comfortable, not convinced such an orginal design and material will last long but at least it was a nice stay. The small roof top sport room and pool are quite nice, the bar is also offering a nice view on the city.

Pro : good value, have everything. Profession and friendly staff. Spacious and clean room and provide all sort of toiletries. Frequent shuttle to airport which is another added value. There is a convenient store close by which has all sort of groceries and necessities if you want something outside of the hotel. Con : Location is quite a distance to city center but subway station is close by. Hotel restaurant is closed on Sunday.
