The perfect location in Madrid next to theaters, tours company, historic places, shopping and eating places. People at the hotel are friendly and as soon as they see you will know who you are and even your room number.

I booked this hotel after months trying to find the right one, this was a surprise 2 nights away that I had booked for my boyfriend and I for his birthday, everything was prepared and it was one week to go until our trip, when I got a very strange email from the company I had booked with ( The email stated that the hotel was unable to accept my reservation because the hotel had no availability due to a football match? We been in this nice and centric hotel. Always is fully booked. nice and comfortable rooms. Me my wife and 2 kids of 4 and 9. TV in the room and at the living room. They open a sofa for the kids in the livingroom. I had a nice experience staying in this nice hotel. Rooms were neat and friendly staff available 24X7 to help with a smile. Only thing that concerned me was the level of noise insulation, there is a lot of noise from the surrounding and we can easily hear people talking in the corridor. it can be problem when you want to take rest but you keep getting disturbed with the sound.

This hotel is in a great location - right between Gran Via and Callao metro stations, close to shopping, restaurants and various points of interest. Unfortunately not a smile or feeling of being welcome from any staff member from the time I checked in and a disappointing lack of hospitality. From memory, my booking confirmation had advised free wifi - on being unable to connect I rang reception to be told that the Internet is not free and I could come down from the 5th floor to pay (?2 for 30... Such a lovely hotel, welcoming staff, big rooms, clean and tidy. Right in the middle of the city, so close to many things, hundreds of shops around to look at. A beautiful park 10 min walk away and if you want to go further and explore more it's not even a 2 min walk to the metro

The biggest advantage of this hotel is location. Then comes polite staff, clean and quite spacious rooms, breakfast - average nothing extra but sufficient choice to start a new day, what else to say, most of the attractions are close by and can be visited on foot. Who loves shopping even shops are right next to the hotel, all in all I recommend!

The staff was friendly and I had a nice reasonably priced room. Also, the staff speaks English which was helpful to me with my lack of knowledge of Spanish. The location just off the Gran Via is very centrally located. The in-house cafe is very useful when you first arrive. Helen

When first saw hotel it was in the ideal location but when arrived late at 6:30pm our room still was ready witch was a poor start and had to wait for 40 minutes for it to be ready then when arrived back for the room the staff just handed us the keys without any information and didn't tell us where to go or how to get to the room and never told about the breakfast and never told us about checkout times and never offered to help us with our luggage but saw them help others and think its tight you ... I am used to wifi in hotels these days and was surprised to be quoted an hourly and daily rate. Nothing significant but annoying as was unable to pick up mobile data connection in room, which overlooked inner courtyard. Everything else was of a good standard, and the hotel is well located although taxis have to go a roundabout route to get to hotel entrance.

This is a pleasant hotel located just off the Gran Via. It is within walking distance to the Prado and Reina Sofia museums and other sights. The room we had was a good size with comfortable beds. The breakfast buffet is ample. There were tour groups staying in the hotel. The younger groups made noise at night. The hotel restaurant is not worth visiting for dinner. We would stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is situated at a very good location and is very close to Sol and Gran Via. The hotel rooms are out-most adequate spacious. We took a triple room and we found it somewhat spacious. The hotel staff is very helpful. The hotel does have a wi-fi but it charges 10 euros a day which is very annoying. Breakfast should have more items. The hotel does not provide in-room service which should be noticed. Otherwise the hotel is good.

The bathroom was big, but the room smell! The bed was hard and small for 2. I visited some rooms and asked to change my room to a bigger one, but they were full. The hotel is close to a lot of good things to do! Nice location!

The hotel itself is terrific very clean, nicely appointed rooms and a good central location that is easy to get to transport. Shopping is great around the hotel and restaurants, although expensive in general in Madrid, were very good. The staff of this hotel is a true let down. They look miserable, always annoyed and cranky. Thought it was just us English speaking people but no it was everyone they were short and abrupt to. The two older gentlemen and the younger girl really need to rethink thei... Read more

First time ever visiting Madrid for a city break and we wanted a hotel that was central to all the main attractions, this hotel was perfect for this! Right on the Gran Via with lots of restaurants, bars, and amazing shops for a perfect city break near by. A lot of the main attractions and things to see were either within walking distance or attractions that were further were easy to reach with many metros near to the hotel(one outside the hotel too)- overall, perfect hotel for location. The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the tourist attractions and sights we wanted to visit. Unfortunately the staff on duty left us waiting for a long time in the lobby area before checking us in. They also seemed quite unwilling to assist us with queries we had. The hotel had advertised free wifi, however we found that our booking did not actually include this facility (even in public spaces such as the lobby). We booked a triple room (noting on the booking that it was for a co... Read more

The location actually was superior, in the center of Gran Via as well as all other surrounding stores, internet connection was excellent. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean. 2 issues I faced as follows: 1) the reception staff aren't all friendly, the one we checked out during his shift was really not nice and all, and somehow dealt in a rude way. 2) the rooms aren't sound proof at all, we kept on hearing noises all night , people in the room beside us are heard as if they stayed in our ro... We stayed in Hotel Regente for 9 nights as we used Madrid as our base. The location was fantastic - Plaza Mayor and Puerto Del Sol were easily walkable and the shopping was just a few steps away. The hotel itself was recently renovated so when booking its best to request for the newer rooms. The front desk was helpful and made a number of reservations for restaurants for us. If you want complete peace and quiet, this may not be the place if only because it's centrally located and you do hear peo... Read more

This hotel was pre-booked and fully paid prior my arrival with breakfast and internet service. I checked in today and was not informed about breakfast or internet. As I went out after putting my luggage in my room, I enquired about breakfast and was told I am entitled. After a day of walking around I went back to my room and I realised that I had not given an internet password. I called from my room to the reception and was told if you want internet you come down reception to collect. When I... Read more

Hotel is on center of Gran Via with it's main entrance on Calle Mesonero Romanos. Plaza Del Sol is 5 minutes away! Access to Gran Via shops and the smaller shops In Calle Arenal, Mayor and Plaza Mayor. Refurbished rooms are modern in design but the standard rooms are good. We stayed in one of the older rooms and it was good sized and kept clean. Housekeeping was quite efficient.

This is a distinguished older hotel in the heart of Madrid - a few minutes' walk from the Gran Via and Puerto del Sol. Downtown Madrid is literally at your doorstep here! Rooms are recently renovated - they're modern, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I loved the old world feel to this place but with the updated, state-of-the-art rooms. I had a small room for one person. It was quite efficient, cozy, everything I needed. Small but comfy bed, good size tv, with channels in most languages, ... Read more

I would say that after a long search for a centrally hotel, I choose this one and now I can say that I did a perfect choice. The hotel is located great, very clean and organized rooms and you don't really need more than that ! The rooms are not big (even small) but it is not an issue because most of the day you are out of the room so who care about the square meter of the room. Highly recommended to book this hotel No experience with the breakfast, I choose a room without breakfast Enjoy

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Regente. Have stayed here twice before and always been happy. The location of this hotel is excellent, on the Gran Via, and just steps away from lots of shops and restaurants, and not far from Sol, or Plaza Mayor. The price for a hotel of this quality and position is so good! If we stayed at a similar hotel in London, it would cost 3 or 4 times more. This time we booked rooms with a view of the Gran Via, and I expected that would mean we'd just be ab... Read more
