I chose this hotel based on its 4* rating and central location. The reception staff were not outwardly friendly, the 2 elevators must be the smallest I've seen anwhere the largest one had a capacity of up to 4 persons. The room was small, the decor outdated and dull with chipped paintwork on furnishings. Old style tv. No tea/coffee making facility in room. Poor soundproofing. Buffet breakfast adequate. The only thing going for this hotel is its central location just 110 meters from Gran Via metr... Read more

Excellent hotel for city trip. Hotel looks slightly outdated but rooms are nice, sound proof against traffic noise and beds comfortable. Excellent airco, makes absolutely no noise and keeps the room cool. Breakfast is more than adequate. Staff has been very friendly throughout our stay

Stayed here with a group of friends, great location on Gran Via walking distance to all of the attractions. Hotel was clean and bar was lovely. Rooms were slightly small but clean and comfortable ideal for a short city break. Would stay again.

Hotel Arosa is situated down a quiet lane off the Gran Via, perfect location, great view from the large bedroom window of the Via, the window was completely noise proff, nice comfy bed, good bathroom with bath/shower and seperate toilet. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There is an electronic mini bar in the room and you can empty the fridge for ?9.50 a day, so no need to panic about drinking luke warm beer or wine, it's sorted for you. The breakfast room is locat... Read more

I loved the Arosa. This is the only place we've stayed in Europe that made us feel like family. The two gentlemen at the front desk were wonderful, also the gentleman from Segovia who works in the lounge/dining area. We loved the breakfast. Met our adult kids there and all enjoyed having breakfast at the hotel & planning the day's activities. Great central location, convenient to transportation. If you arrive by plane, be sure to have hotel address handy, as it can be a little tricky to fi... Read more

We stayed here last weekend from Friday to Monday. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable. Very quirky lifts but what do you expect for a very old building. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you.

I have stayed at hotel Arosa twice, The last time in August 2016. I love the location and this is the reason why I stay there. Centrally located near all the major stores and plazas. Walking distance to Plaza de Espana, Callao, Puerta del Sol, El Corte Ingles, etc. The hotel is clean and though my room this last time was very small I have no complaints otherwise. Will come back again. Very pleasant personnel.

Robbed inside the room at Hotel Arosa. I-Pad, Computer, Kindell Books stolen. Management was not available for 4 days. Safe deposit box did not work. There is no security cameras in the hallways leading to the rooms. Hallways are dark and dirty. Do not stay in this hotel. There is no way this is a 4 star hotel. Management stated that they are not responsible. They do not care about their guests.

Hotel is perfectly placed for shopping and public transport right in the heart of Madrid on corner if Gran Via. However, the double room was small, very dark and dated. The bathroom was a decent size but lacked toiletries. There was no body lotion, conditioner, shower gel, bubble bath or bath soap. The only soap was a dispenser fixed to the wall at the washbasin. In a 4 star establishment a wide range of toiletries is a basic requirement. The quality of towels and bedding was also not of a good ... Read more

Came here last Friday to Sunday for my birthday and to visit my boyfriend who moved to Madrid last month. This hotel is great if you want to be right smack middle in Madrid. It's across the road from all your retailers including a beautiful massive Primark, Mango, H&M, Zara etc. The staff were friendly and the hotel is in an old beautiful building. The lifts are really small, the one on the left is a laugh in a good way (the world smallest lift, can barely fit 3 people in it!). However the dow... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for a long weekend to visit the city. Although it says a four star it's more a three and a basic city hotel. It's very tired and needs a good overhaul. Breakfast was adequate. Our room was a reasonable size but not a lot of natural light, bed was comfortable. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly apart from our lovely barman Antonio who was a gem. Location was very convenient. To get to and from the airport we recommend a taxi which has a fixed rate of 30euros

Location is primarily the selling point for this hotel. You're within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, music. They offer a decent breakfast with wonderful attendants, however I wouldn't rate this a 4 star hotel. The rooms are a decent size with decent bathrooms without amenities, both requiring updating for 4 star category. Although their room description states A/C, the hotel had switched from AC to light heating mid October with outdoor temperatures in the mid 60s to low 70s. ... Read more

The location of this hotel is perfect. You are right in the centre of Madrid and only a 5 minute walk from restaurants, bars cafes, and more shops than you could ever visit. The rooms are comfortable and clean, bathrooms are modern with lovely powerful showers. Our booking included breakfast, which was very good, regularly topped up and a great variety for all tastes. The reception staff all spoke English and we're very helpful and informative. Please remember this hotel is positioned on one... Read more

We chose this hotel because of its location and because the price was reasonable - 910 euros for 10 nights. The hallway to our room was a bit gloomy & the carpet much in need of a through clean or even replacement, which made us a little wary about what we find when we opened our bedroom door. The room itself however was very clean though a little tired in terms of decor. We stayed for 10 nights which meant we had quite a few clothes and shoes to store - not much storage on offer except a double... Read more

Hotel's location is ideal if you are traveling for pleasure. It is located on the corner of Gran Via which is the central road of Madrid full of shops and restaurants. Primark , H&M, Zara, Startivarius etc are just 1 minute away. Starbucks is just on the opposite of the road. If you book a hop-on-hop-off tour you can pick up the bus just outside starbucks. Hotels breakfast was not very rich but is was ok. The rooms although not huge were spacious. Bathroom was ok as well. The hotel's carpet in ... Read more
