We loved our 4 night stay at The Artrip hotel. Lovely spacious room - very comfy beds, great shower, fridge and a kettle . breakfast was included in our price and although quite a basic choice , I think it had something for everyone- we loved the bread, jams and everlasting fruit bowl. The hotel is tucked away in a lively neighbourhood which we enjoyed because it was easy to find a bar/restaurant that was full of locals rather than tourists. The reviews say it all - this is such a great place to stay. We have just returned after a 3 night break in Madrid. The owner Miguel and all of his staff were helpful, thoughtful and friendly from start to finish. We were given a junior suite which was clean, spacious, comfortable and had everything you need. The hotel is safe and the room downstairs where you have breakfast (very good) or just hang out is a bonus. One night we were sitting quietly downstairs with our 10 year old daughter having ... Our room was simplistic, but thoughtfully designed. Very clean and modern. A/C was nice after being in Morocco. Good walking location to all the main sights in Madrid. The front desk staff was very helpful and kind. Breakfast was the basics, but just what we needed to start each day. Great value and a very nice hotel! We met the owner briefly as well and he was so nice and genuinely wanted to ensure we were having a great stay. Highly recommend!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. Everything about it impressed from the knowledgable, friendly staff;spacious and light room; inexpensive, simple breakfast with a coffee machine that produced good coffee; value for money; and accessible location between Atocha station and the touristy parts of Madrid. I'd stay there again!

We stayed here twice over a two week period. We chose the hotel because of the high ratings and location about a 10-12 minute walk from the Atocha train station. Our first room was basic but good sized, clean, and modern with plenty of light and electric outlets. The decor was simple with white walls and furnishings. The bed was very comfortable the room was quiet at night due to the modern windows and location on a side street. We were upgraded to a larger room on our second one night stay... Read more

The room was immaculate and very clean with a small balcony overlooking the street. We stayed here for two nights after finishing the Camino. We arrived early in the morning and received the warmest welcome to a hotel ever. Laura is fantastic. Our room wasn't ready however we were invited to have coffee and breakfast. We were handed a portable Mifi, stored our bags and set out after receiving a map and lots of tips. The rooms are lovely with comfortable beds. The décor is wonderful. The stairs invite you to use them however there is an elevator. Location is in the museum area,... Read more

The hotel was hard to find and wasn't much to look at from the outside but once you never it is very modern and clean. We came in too early to check in so they staff was nice enough to give us a room where we could keep our things and rest from our long flight. SO NICE. I really enjoyed the breakfast, it was delicious and had a good variety of items. The metro was a few minutes away and so easy to use. Don't stay anywhere else!

Our reception at the hotel was very friendly and throughout our nine night stay everyone from the owner to our room cleaner was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a junior suite which had everything we needed; it was spacious and quiet and equipped with a sofa, fridge, safe and tea and coffee making facilities. The only downside was that the window looked out onto a shaft which did not provide much natural light. The hotel is only a short walk from the metro and ten minutes away from... Read more

Four of us had 2 rooms for 3 nights and we were m9ost impressed. The hotel has recently been revamped and the decor is attractive, the rooms clean and of a good size. Bathrooms were large and everything was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was excellent and reasonably priced and coffee or tea were available throughout the day. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, including sending us to one of the best restaurants, local, of our entire trip. The location is superb for the museums, less than 1... Read more

This was our last night in Spain after 2 weeks of travelling the country we stayed at the Artrip the night before flying out. We honestly wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful hotel, great staff, wonderful location. Could not ask for more. They arranged our taxi to the airport the next morning and were able to accommodate our early check in. The staff had great recommendation for a wine bar. Very enjoyable stay!

We stayed at the Artrip Hotel our first four days in Spain, and then again for our last two days before flying home. I cannot say enough good things about this boutique-style hotel. It is located within walking distance of the three major art museums, the train station and many of the interesting sites of Madrid. When we arrived at the hotel on our first morning after our overnight flight from Chicago, the staff made an extra effort to get our room ready right away. They helped orient us to ... Read more

I booked the Artrip Hotel for 3 nights in Oct. based on reviews listed on this website. True to the reviews, I experienced a very clean European style hotel closely positioned to a Metro stop with a small convenience store and bakery only steps away. Also within walking distance to the Art Museums and the Train Station. Marcella, their best employee at the front desk was very helpful in suggesting restaurants nearby the hotel and in other neighborhoods accessed by the Metro to have Tappas and o... Read more

This hotel is a lovely hotel, well designed and in a great location. It is not a big chain but family owned and run. I was put off a bit at first because when you enter, you cannot see the small front desk or the person who greets you. Then when you do see, it is so small as is the entire entry. So why is this not to be believed? The service, the design and the kindness and humanity of the owner. The rooms are various sized, Ikea in general design, and clean. The building belonged to the... My wife and I stayed at the Artrip Hotel, choosing it because of the reasonable price, the TripAdvisor reviews, and the location (just a short walk from the main train station - Atocha). The hotel has so much more than that. The staff were all super friendly, super helpful, and went out of their way to give us a great stay. We arrived at around 9 AM, well before we had any right to expect a room and, of course, none was ready. We were invited to enjoy the hotel‚??s free continental breakfa... Read more

We arrived late afternoon to a warm welcome from Laura who was very helpful with invite to the free tea/coffee available all hours in the breakfast room and a tip for a good local bar. The room was modern and clean with a great shower, and on the 4th floor with a small balcony we could see street life without it being too noisy. Very secure with keycard entry to building, elevator, and rooms. The 24 hour grocery store located 1 block away was also convenient. Would stay again or recommend to anyone without hesitation.

On holiday from Australia, we completed the Spanish part of our trip with a couple of nights in Madrid. We chose to stay at the Artrip, and are very glad that we did. The atmosphere of this very small hotel is just lovely: warm, welcoming, wonderful art on the walls for sale, a non-stop coffee room, and enthusiastic and friendly staff. We chose to stay here as a good value option for 2 nights and were not disappointed as we were quitely upgraded to a 2 bed/2 bath unit without asking (something I saw happen to another family also). #41 was very spacious, quiet and comfortable. There was a very pleasant and helpful young lady on reception and the logistics all worked out fine. We would recommend staying here. The breakfast offering of milk, orange juice and a pastry helped get the day off the mark.

When the staff is this friendly it really illustrates how important that can be. We stayed two nights at this property, one that has a very good location, close to the heart of Madrid. The best part of thia hotel is the genuinely excellent service. From the moment we checked in each person at this hotel went out of their way for us. One receptionist sat and had a coffee with us and went over a day of walking on a map. I also asked if they had any items to meet my dietary restrictions and the next morning someone had gone to the store and bought every gluten free breakfast item imaginable. They even sent me out with snacks. Now that is service!
