The design of this hotel, the furnishings, and the artwork are all very modern and different from any other hotel I've stayed at. (They even have smart phones in the room rather than old landline phones.) It makes it fun. However, it sometimes seems unfinished. For example, the sealing in the shower wasn't very good and it leaked. It's also very difficult to close the door to the bathroom all the way. The walls have skid marks on them. If you want something that looks very traditional and fancy,... Read more

We arrived late and were offered the chance to leave our luggage at reception so we didn't miss dinner which was great. The rooms are modern and beautiful. As mentioned previously they are set out a little strange but we liked it. The rooftop pool was wonderful. We had cocktails are the first night and booked a bed for a half day at 25 Euros which was good value considering the bottle of cava and fruit. This hotel is not for the traditional traveller. If you like your bedroom and bathroom Ensuite then this is not for you. Everything is open plan. Seperated only by glass cubicals. The bath is in front of the window. At a push I can understand this. What I can't understand why the loo and the shower cubicle is glass without any sort of screening and sound proofing. Is this what people want? Maybe I am too old fashioned. If I am too old fashioned then disregard this review. The hotel is a maze. L... Read more

The hotel lives up to it's stylish appearance and it has the added bonus of being in a beautiful setting between the Spanish hills and views of the sea. You are away from the hustle and hubbub of Fuengirola. The hotel area has a shuttle train that will take you up to a supermarket the or down to the nearest station Carvajal and to the beach. You can walk to the station but it is a 20% incline so even though it will only take a 20min walk it is quite challenging. A taxi is around ‚?¨5 and... Read more

The hotel is very modern as described, which was very nice, if rather odd, particularly the layout of the washing/bathroom area. We got very lost and had to muddle through too much through a lack of a detailed welcome pack and lack of good English by the staff, who failed to be very informative. The only way of finding out that the roof infinity pool cost ‚?¨25 was by arriving and being told you can't stay on a bed without paying!! This hotel has some unusual features which are worth knowing about before you stay (the quirky design of the bathrooms, the very steep hill it sits on and the paid for sunbeds at the rooftop pool [which help avoid overcrowding and does come with refreshments] to name a few). Although this is a Doubletree by Hilton it didn't start out as a branded hotel - this means it will look and feel different to other hotels under this chain. There are still a few elements of the old hotel that remain that ... Read more

What could have been a great hotel did not deliver. We were not told much of the workings and felt like we intruded everywhere. They made us feel like we shouldn't use the pool during breakfast and like you did not belong at the skypool (extra charge). The bathroom has glass walls that do not even fully cover which is very weird. Many hinges on the closet were broken and most hangers had come off from the walls. Also the door to your room is difficult to open. The location is beautiful though, ... Read more

This hotel could be perfect but still has a few minor annoying flaws which stop it from being the best. The check in is still slow there is always an IT error and there are never quite enough staff on hand. The tapas restaurant is not as good as it was. This sounds like a negative review buy other than this the hotel is still very good even with its quirks

Very different style of hotel as very modern and minimalistic but comfortable rooms. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide range of food and drinks and chef available for omelettes etc. My only comment is that the bar area in reception could be open more for those guests who want to sit and have an informal coffee without sitting by the pools.

Where do I start, this is probably the longest review I have ever written. Firstly, the rooms: not a traditional room configuration. No, you don't have a bedroom and bathroom...what you have is essentially a bathroom with a bed in it. We were upgraded to a King sea view room up on the 4th floor .....views were stunning looking straight down onto Fuengirolla and the coast. The room was extremely clean and very spacious. Just got back from 9 night Honeymoon!! The hotel and grounds are clean and well kept, the rooms are modern and had the biggest bed I've ever seen in a hotel room, it's just up a big hill is the only down side, I would hire a car if I was to return. Saw a lot of bad reviews before we went, which in my opinion are rubbish, 90% of all staff were bilingual, Friendly and helpful. The buffet was fantastic. ‚?¨10 taxi from the hotel and you are in the heart of Fuengirola or Benalmadena. The shuttle dow... Read more

Hotel itself is lovely with amazing pool areas and restaurants at reasonable prices for hotels. The walk down to the beach is manageable at around 15 mins but walk up isn't due to how steep it is, 9EUR in a taxi though is fine. Staff are friendly. We had a deluxe King room which was nice in size but a bit of a weird layout as we had a bath in the middle of the room.

I can't express how disappointed I was with my stay. Thankfully it was just one night. 170‚?¨ room only 1 night and charged 40‚?¨ for a bed on rooftop infinity pool. Then at 3pm we couldn't use our bed or half the pool as they were setting for an event. No apology just kept moving us! Shut off half the pool. No warning when we booked and didn't offer money back!! Flashy according to the pictures and the reality is that the pool areas are very nice but the rooms are not so nice in terms how the maintenance is done (see pictures). There is also a modern door lock system to the room which created some problems to us. There only a very small amount of places in the outside terrace when eating breakfast, most of the guest have to eat breakfast in a very big noisy room.

Stayed here for 3 nights bed and breakfast. Opted for a deluxe room which was very nice. The view could have been better as we were facing a construction site but I'm sure if we would have asked they would have moved us but we weren't here to sit on the balcony anyway. The infinity pool is a must it really does make the hotel. Some people were moaning on here about having to pay but it's totally worth every penny, so chilled out and relaxing there and is still just as lovely at night. Staff ar... Read more

I read the reviews here before booking a 7 night stay so had an idea what to expect and we loved the hotel for its originality - and I'm a young at heart pensioner! It is in a quiet residential area which suited us perfectly. It is well served by a frequent rail service from the airport and to towns between Fuengirola and Malaga, making our day trip to Córdoba easy. But we did have a hire car which meant we did not have to contend with the very long and steep hill from the station and beach ... Read more

This a delightful hidden gem in the Costa del Sol region. Highly recommended as a place to relax and the perfect location for traveling around the whole area with good connections to major roads and Malaga airport. We hired a car with Avis via the hotel, which enabled us to visit the beautiful town of Mijas high up in the hills, Marbella, Puerto Banus and Gibraltar. Fabulous views overlooking Fuengirola. I can see why people like it dislike this hotel. It's different and a little quirky but really rather good. If you want a classic hotel with classic service them don't stay. The rooms are different, strange bathroom set up and layout. But embrace it.

I stayed at this hotel for 1 week. I'm so pleased that we had a hire car for the full duration of our trip because the hill down to the beach is sooooo steep. When we arrived we were given a twin room, we asked to change to a double room and was charged an extra 70euros for this pleasure, absolutely ridiculous. Had a great, relaxing stay with group of friends in our thirties. It is out of the way so is restricted transport-wise unless you get taxis everywhere. Do not attempt to walk up the hill from the train station! It's therefore not ideal if you want to go into town in the evenings or to the beach every day. We just wanted to relax with cocktails by the pool so we were happy. The infinity pool has great view and is really relaxing and peaceful - it is an adult only area. I was initially surprised ... Pretentious hotel, with good food, very nice rooftop bar and pool, stylish interior. But the beds are crappy with thin matrasses (should be the first thing to be okay, eh?), the toilets in the rooms and public areas are not private at all, the Spa is too expensive for the hotel guests. The only real comfort is the Michelin-starred Sollo restaurant, making the experience of a three-day stay worth the trouble and time. For goodness sake, do something about your beds!

My wife and I stayed here for a few nights in October before moving on to our timeshare in the area. We were very disappointed because it was not for the average tourist and, as Hilton Honours members, it fell below our expectations. Consequently walking is not an option (certainly not back to the hotel from the coast). We regard ourselves as active seniors and did walk 18 miles alo... Read more

Catering services very average though as was the food on offer in its various restaurants - far better and much cheaper food available outside locally.
