I visited Ciudad de Casterlldefels Hotel 17th-20th August 2015 with my teenage son on a British airways package deal including breakfasfast, we were wanting a quieter area and to practice some Catalan. We used the train from Barcelona bound for Vilanova which was easy, remember to get off at Platja Casterlldefel stop (word of warning not all trains stop there, get on right one), straight forward 13 minutes approx walk to hotel. On first appearance this Hotel looks tired, and the decor is stuck ... Read more

Visited in mid September 2015 with my partner for a 5 day visit, as we wanted to be near Barcelona but a bit out of the city to relax. Hotel - hotel was very good, rooms and public areas all clean and a good choice of food for breakfast buffet. If you are allocated a ground floor room you will not have a balcony, just a window. Pool doesn't get much sun in the late afternoon, so make the most of it in the morning! Location - location was VERY close to the beach, about 5 mins walk away - would... Read more

After having visited many hotels in Castelldefels I must say it is not my preferable choice even though it is not too bad neither. The hotel is a part of group of hotels in the town: playafells, Rey Don Jaime and Bel air are the other "sister" hotels It is located not far from the beach but it is not the first or second row so you are not at the beach either Ok lets start with the things I liked about the hotel- it is relatively cheap , it has good breakfast option and it is not so far form the... If you are coming here as part of a group tour, which I did, then the hotel is fine. It's relatively clean, the staff friendly, the food pretty good, it's near the beach and the rooms functional. Luxurious it is not. In short, it's the perfect hotel for large groups staying on a budget. While we were there, ~ 30 of us, there were no less than four other large groups, all teenagers sharing the hotel with us. Needless to write, it was busy, noisy and any attempt to go to bed early or sleep past 7a... Read more

First off. If you're looking for peace and quiet, then search elsewhere. This hotel seems to be popular for group bookings (often children/teens) and the rooms aren't very soundproof. Dining area is also quite noisy when there are lots of people eating and even though we ate in the smaller area facing Passeig de la Marina the noise from the room next door was quite audible. If you don't mind a little life around you then the hotel is ok. Reception staff was helpful (esp Sol). Room (4 beds) was ... Read more

As others have mentioned.. you may find the hotel flooded with school groups. Although they were very noisy - the hotel moved my room on request which was nice. Only problem being the room they moved me to had no terrace and the air conditioning simply didn't work. It was only a 2 night stay so I just borrowed a fan from reception. Well apart from the noise and the school groups - it's not a bad hotel. Nice breakfast with plenty of options. Great pool (although the sunbeds are in a bad state an... Read more

One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in, highly indifferent staff and very noisy rooms. Large part of the hotel is located on the main highway from Barcelona Airport and main 24 hour rail line into the city, even though this is a small town, This is not mentioned anywhere on the website. The hotel is incredibly badly managed. When I tried to complain, the main manager said he could not hear complaints as he needed to walk his dog (in English). The hotel is essentially a holiday camp for ... Read more

Not a bad hotel but some residents seem to not give a rats about the others an think it's ok to yahoo all night, balcony doors cannot be locked and the picture of the hotel is not the current one. Rooms are ok and very clean booked a double bed got two singles. Reasonable price and good location close to beaches and lots of restaurants and the train station.

We booked this hotel just to have a long weekend near the beach somewhere in Spain. This was the best option. After all I think this hotel was great! Some reviews mention noise but we didn't have any of that. At our visit there weren't school groups also. The train station is on a 10 minutes walk. Make sure you take the second station (platja de castelldefele) the first one is at least 30 minutes walk. We tried the breakfast once, it was good but in my opinion expensive. We bought some bread ... Read more

This is a very basic hotel. Breakfast is good tough we would whish for some more vegetables. Pool is nice. Only a few minuters walk to a nice big beach. 10 min walk to train station and the train takets 30 min to Barcelona. Lots of restaurants in the area. Nice and helpful staf. We stayed 6 nights one adult and two teenagers in one not very big room. Comfortable beds. We had a perfect mix of a city and sun holiday.

We loved the location of this hotel, so close to the beach and only a short train ride to Barcelona centre, ideal for the best of both worlds city break. Buy the multi journey train ticket for best value. Family room spacious, well equipped. Breakfast good choice of fresh food. Swimming pool and good size and plenty loungers around it. There was quite a large school group staying while we were there so some extra noise but otherwise an excellent stay. We paid extra for late checkout, price goes ... Read more

Great location, 2 blocks from the beach and main street, in a quiet residential street. Supermarket, restaurants and bakery within easy walking distance. Staff were really helpful, thanks to Micha and Alex for their great local knowledge and advice. The train station is an easy 10 minute walk from the hotel and the journey into Barcelona was about 25 minutes. Very easy. Pool is a good size, busy with families so swim early if you want to do lengths. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped. beach... Read more

Stayed at this hotel for a week, from the 26th July - 2nd August. Rooms are a good size, we had rooms on the ground floor, these rooms didn't have balconies. Reception staff were very polite and helpful. Great shops are nearby, supermarket, bakery and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The beach is a short walk, which is beautiful and has plenty of small restaurants on the beach to eat and drink. Our hotel, had an outside pool, which was lovely, but did get very busy. Can't wait to return.

Four rooms had been booked for a family holiday with ages ranging from 10-60+. Rooms were a good size and overlooking the pool area. A safe, air con, small fridge and beach towels were included in the price. The rooms were very clean, towels changed every day and the sheets a couple of time during our five night stay. Breakfast was a serve youself buffet which included eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, juice, fruit, toast etc etc. Location was ideal...if the beach was needed it was a (flat) 30... Read more

Beds were comfy and aircon in rooms was sufficient - we had 2 rooms and the aircon in 1 was alot colder than the other which was odd (both on exactly the same settings)! Wifi good. Breakfast was okay, a fair amount of choice though finishes at 10.30 each day including Sundays!!!! Location excellent, just a short stroll and you were at the beach. You can rent sundbeds and shade but you need to get to the beach early (?5 per sunbed plus per shade). Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area... Read more

Stayed here with family in August. I'd recommend the hotel as the rooms are quite spacious and comfortable with baths and showers over. The staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants etc. Everything very clean - no kettle in the room though so take your own if you need one. We booked this hotel for a summer vacation as I happen to prefer this town over Sitges or any other touristy overcrowded place at the Costa Brava. Castelldefels is residential, the beach isn't overcrowded and most tourists are local. Screaming obnoxious holiday makers are absent. The beach is busy but not overly populated. Hotel Ciudad is a large hotel from a Spanish chain. It's situated three blocks from the beach, about a five minute walk. Our air conditioned room was spacious. We had a large... Read more

We got upgraded to a suite, free of charge - on arrival due to the hotel being full, which was great for us with a 4 year old. The rooms and bathrooms were clean when we arrived and cleaned daily, and plenty big enough with a balcony over the entrance (which looked much nicer than the balconies over the pool area). Great location, 5 minutes away from restaurants and the beach, and a 10/15 minute walk to the train station where we got on regular trains to the centre of Barcelona with no changes ... Read more
