I have to agree with others, the view when walking into this SENTIDO hotel is picturesque. We have just returned from a week's all inclusive in this hotel, and were certainly well impressed. I have to agree with others, the view when walking into this SENTIDO hotel is picturesque. We have just returned from a week's all inclusive in this hotel, and were certainly well impressed. From the warm welcome and refreshing drink from staff on arrival to our departure, the whole experience was first class. We stayed in a junior suite overlooking the bay, a lovely spacious room with 2 balconies, one with 2 sunbeds, the other with table and 2 chairs. The bathroom had a wet floor shower, I agree you have to watch as the water tends to wander across the floor, but it was effective. There was a safe in the room, 3 euro's per day with a refundable deposit of 15 euro. A laundry service is also available. We had tea and coffee making facilities and mini bar which you could stock to your choice. The rooms were cleaned daily and staff were very friendly.
This is the first time we have stayed in an adults only hotel so i found it unusually quiet the first couple of days, however, i think it is something i could become used to. The food in the main restaurant was varied and well presented, the staff ensured it was replenished frequently and always tidy. There was a particularly good vegetarian selection, and there was a different themed area each night offering additional cuisine. We tried the a la carte restaurant on Sunday night, one visit per stay included. This was an 8 course interesting experience. The food was well presented, the only thing I would say is perhaps a down side was we could not see the menu before we went. Three of the courses were fish I have never tried razor clams, not sure I would again, but the whole atmosphere and evening was relaxed and I am glad we went. The bar on the first floor also served snacks from 10am til 5pm, this was used one day when we returned from a trip out. The hotel provided us with a picnic lunch when we took another day trip, this was perfectly satisfactory.
The Thomas Cook rep Rita was on hand daily, and provided us with great information about Majorca and various excursions available which we found most helpful. Try the Discover Majorca day out, with a wooden train, tram and boat trip before a winding trail round the mountains in the coach.
The indoor spa pool was relatively quiet and relaxing, with steam room and sauna. Didn't use the gym, but the treadmills are positioned at the window to allow you to enjoy the views over the bay, good distraction from the hard work in this room.
From the hotel there is a 10 minute walk down the hill to a few shops, restaurants and The Square (this area comes alive at 10pm with music and entertainment each evening). The taxi area is also here, over the road from here is where we had to catch the buses of we were taking a tour. Another 10 minute walk took us to Santa Ponsa beach front, more shops restaurants and a more lively atmosphere and night life if that is what you are interested in. (So obviously there is a walk back up a hill, we were ok with this but if you have mobility issues, you may prefer a taxi).
The hotel does provide entertainment during the day and evening, the 3 staff work very hard to engage with guests to the hotel, but they are not in your face. Leonie who has been promoted to manager of the entertainment this year, played the saxophone and sang very well. She was keen to seek feedback and suggestions on what people liked, but she did not overstay her welcome The entertainment was well attended by guests this week.
I definitely recommend this hotel, this was our first visit to Majorca, there is still plenty there to see and do. A car would be useful to tour the island at your leisure, however, I would say parking around the hotel area is limited. When discussing whether to rent a car, we decided against it this time due to the parking issue, and this is not a busy time of year.
Thank you to all the staff in the hotel, who worked well together in all areas to ensure we had a memorable experience. We will be returning in the future.
