First trip to Majorca for twenty years or so. The hotel was much as described in previous reviews. Excellent service in all areas and a large very comfortable room. Predominantly older guests, many of whom clearly return regularly, with only a few younger people. Good food well presented and served. The hotel covers a fairly large area so some walking is required on site as we were across the road on the seaward side. We liked Palma and went there on the local bus several times which was very... The Bon Sol was recommended to us by friends whose parents were serial returners, and we found this was true of many of the guests when we were there. Some reviewers have said the hotel is a little faded, but we didn't find it so. It is decorated and furnished in a classic Spanish style, so it is not modern, but the public areas and restaurant and bar were comfortable and elegant. Our room, a junior suite, was bright, spacious and airy and prettily appointed. The bed, super king size, was comfort... Read more

This has got to be one of the best hotels we've stayed in. It is family run and it shows - Martin is very visible all the time and his pride in the hotel and willingness to be friends with guests is a major asset. The younger generation of the family are following along in much the same way. The location of the hotel is superb with a number of pools at locations down the hillside finishing in a small private beach. The level of service and quality of food can not be faulted . Drinks and snacks sensibly priced . We were worried when we booked because we knew the hotel is built in 3 sections down a cliff . My wife has limited mobility but we were able to acess most areas without using stairs . Only 20 minutes from Palma if you want a shopping trip but Bonsol has everything, so perfect for a "fly and flop" holiday. We have just recently returned from the Bonsol, we have been many times before so obviously we are biased, but that doesn't change the fact this is a beautiful hotel, the rooms, grounds and various pools and terraces, are set in lovely gardens, surrounded by large trees, bougainvillea so each pool and terrace feels totally separate. We very much enjoyed the ambience of this lovely hotel. The dining room staff especially are very efficient. The food was beautifully cooked and presented. We enjoyed breakfast by the beach with the sound of waves in the background. Our 5th visit - why do we keep going back? Because it's such a a joy to be there! Many of the guests keep returning - some for many many years - and effectively that reflects what we think is one of the most important attributes of this hotel - its warmth & friendliness. We have stayed at many hotels around Europe & wherever possible we book family-owned & run hotels, because we find those take better care of guests than chains do, & Hotel BonSol exemplifies that. Members of the family who own/... Read more

From time of arrival we were made very welcome and the young lady on the reception was a wonderful ambassador for the hotel, going way out to be of assistance, advice and information for first timers like us. The foods excellent with a very wide choice for breakfast and dinner was superb with a good selection of high quality dishes. In all departments the staff were friendly nd helpful and very efficient the pool area by the small beach is delightful with a lovely beach bar and restaurant.

A very appropriate anagram of the hotel BONSOL. It is anything but a SLOB. My wife and I recently spent 11 nights in this fantastic hotel. A lot of very positive comments have been made to which I can only agree, like: Quirky, Mediaevel, Mystic and so on. The food and choice of menu is excellent, served by very courteous waiters/waitresses with a very good selection of wines. The family who own the hotel are very much "hands on" ensuring that everything meets your expectations. The rooms are bea... Read more

Great food and great service. A wonderfully different hotel planned on 3 levels inter-connected by a series of tunnels and lifts. Small but lovely beach with charming restaurant. Happy cheerful staff and owners who are always on hand Well done!!!

The Hotel Bon Sol is a lovely oasis just outside Palma. It is on several levels, connected by lifts, but some steps have to be negotiated to reach the idyllic little private beach. We felt like we were staying in the home of a grand Spanish family rather than a hotel, it was so comfortable and welcoming. The staff were helpful, friendly and efficient, and the food was wonderful. The room (junior suite) was large if a little dark, and we had good views of the bay from our balcony. We would have p... We arrived very late at night and were warmly welcomed by the staff. Within minutes of arriving in our suite,[ 308 ], a cold buffet was delivered. The hotel is amazing! The TOP, which houses the main restaurants, suites, etc, to the BOTTOM, again a wonderful restaurant/bar and a picture postcard bay, is an incredible journey. The lifts and tunnels connecting the reception area to the beach also connect the various rooms and villas on the lower tiers of the complex. if you prefer to walk there ar... Read more

My wife and I stayed here for a week in Sept, its a great place to stay with access to a small private beach. The hotel has suits of armour in the hallways and lovely paintings on the walls which all add to its quirky existence. Lots of the guests return every year so they are obviously doing something right. Its not for the young at heart as most guests appear middle aged and upwards which fitted the entertainment in the bar. Very relaxing and enjoyable stay!

This review like others is based on a great hotel, an unusual hotel like nothing we have stayed in, and this is based on hotels all over the world. This was our second visit this year and had to come back to celebrate my wife's special Birthday. Many people come back year after year. The hotel is on three tiers with a road that circles the hotel a bit like a mini riviera. It can be noisy on a morning if you are on the second tier, I sleep with the patio door open, it's fine if it's closed. Each... Read more

Super view (room 308) Arrived early 10.15 am (we were offered breakfast lovely. Met the owners and a tour of the hotel and grounds, OUTSTANDING. Never stayed in a hotel quite like it. Staff are fanstatic. The menu could be a little outdated with SOUP at both restaurants, the beach restaurant would be better just doing a full buffet in the evening. This not a complaint.

This was our second holiday at The Bon Sol, having thoroughly enjoyed our week in October last year. This is a very unique hotel, more like staying in a private house or should I say castle! The family, staff and other guests make you feel so welcome. 2016 has been a very special year for us as we got married in May, and so this was a belated honeymoon for us. What a surprise we got when we opened the door to our beautiful suite! Red roses and petals and a table arrangement of more red roses, c... Read more

Going to someone's favourite hotel could be a problem but not in this case. My brother has been coming here frequently over a number of years so the venue was chosen for a large family (24 people) gathering. It lived up to everything that was said about the place, great setting, weather, food, staff. The evening entertainment was perfect for our mixed age group from age 1 to 75 . I look forward to visiting the area again

Back for a relaxing week at this great hotel Lovely room with side sea view close to main restaurant which was convenient. Great service from the friendly staff plus we were allowed to keep our room on leaving as we had a late return flight. Top customer service as is now expected from here. We were also treated to a short evening concert by a youth orchestra then tapas and refreshments prior to dinner - a lovely touch. Just delightful!

This hotel is very unique in comparison to others. Has great character and an interesting layout. We visited as a family of 24 and the hotel was amazing at accommodating all of us. Lots of amazing views and a private beach with lots of available sun beds. Many small shops and bars nearby and only a 20 minute bus journey to Palma. Rooms are a very good size, have great views with comfy beds and always kept clean. The staff are all very friendly and the service at meal times was incredible, you ca... Read more

A charming hotel, very quirky and eclectic furnishings. Lovely helpful staff with the added personal touch from the owners. It is amazing to think the main hotel is up on a hill with rooms and pools on another three levels and the fourth level taking you right into the sea from Bon Sol's private little bay. Definitely something for everyone and all ages at this hotel. Table service at dinner every evening, not a buffet which gives it a definite restaurant feel and not a free for all. Entert... Read more

An excellent service - you had go at least 40 years back to find something equal. And a flexibility out of this world. Delicious food both at the beach restaurant (good view too) and in the main restaurant. The room was spacious and furnished with style. We stay here for 3 nights - and enjoyed every moment. Advice: Take your friends the bar: "The best wine is the one you drink with friends"
