Stayed only one night when travelling through Bilbao. Centrally located (someone wrote the opposite, can´t understand that). Easy walking to the museum and bus terminal. Professional and helpful staff, the room was clean and reasonably large.

Good city centre hotel within easy walking distance of main attractions, restaurants etc. Comfortable well equipped rooms although probably due a refurb as looking a little tired. Good buffet style breakfast with plenty of choice. Free Wi-fi but signal strength in room 805 was poor. Good value for money.

At the beginning of 2016 ,ı stay one night in This hotel.Hotel is at the center of the city and have great location . Hotel was very clean and safe,WiFi connection was perfect. Breakfast was fair enough, balance between the price of hotel and capabilities of hotel was very good. Hotel workers also very frıendly and try to help for everything.

Great hotel. Very centrally situated. Staff friendly and helpful. Twin room with good facilities. In the city for an early birthday treat to watch Athletic at the San Mamnes. Town has lots to see and do. Not enough time for the museums. Will return with my wife.

I stayed there 2 nights on a business trip in a basic room. It is centrally located, close to shopping area (shops are open until late). The hotel is clean, quiet and the bed was very comfy. I also tried the restaurant next door (I think connected to the hotel), where the food was very delicious. The breakfast was fair with good selection. Staff was very friendly, lent me umbrella when it was needed. The only small problem was the check out in the morning, because it seemed that everybody was le... Read more

I stayed here two night on business and it was very pleasant and is located in a excellent location, close to the Guggenheim and the city centre. The hotel lobby is modern and my room was spacious with a fine bed. I especially enjoyed the second door between the "entrance area/bathroom" and the bed area, definitely cut down on corridor noise. Yes this hotel is somewhat old and frayed around the edges, it doesnt have the same squeaky clean sheen that major 4-star chain hotels have but it did have... Read more

Stayed for a week while at a conference in Bilbao. The location made it easy to get to work (near the Guggenheim), and to old town and other locations. The room was above average with good storage and maid service. The breakfast buffet was what you'd expect in Europe - good selection and quality. Not the quietest room I've ever had, but nothing serious. Wireless was consistently available with a generally good data rate, which I can't say about some far more expensive hotels! Overall - no ... Nice hotel in the city centre, short walk to the stores and restaurants. Tasty breakfast with lots of choices. Tidy rooms and good service. Don´t expect to have a nice view from the room window, we had a room facing the tiny inner yard, not very tempting. The Wi-Fi is not very good, not so quick and worked only occasionally.

The hotel is situated in an excellent location , walking distance for the bus (the airport bus arrives very closely ) , the Guggenheim , and Old Town . The rooms are very clean and beds are very comfortable . Which is excellent . But Carpets and decor need badly a make over . And I give only 3 stars because the staff at the reception desk is very uncourteous and snappy .

Hotel was situated in the centre of Bilbao and good quality room. A little impersonal with the reception service but professional and slick. Room had all amenities. I would probably look to stay in the old town for a future visit just to be closer to the nightlife.

The mini bar didn't keep drinks that cold, (but maybe we overfilled it!) It is a modern hotel on the outside but a few things are looking a bit tired(threadbare carpets, paint peeling off walls etc.) Having said that, it didn't affect our stay, just maybe it has to do with price quality ration, and also where do the star ratings in hotels come from? ??The location is really good, close to the main square (where Airport bus picks up and drops off), and underground supermarket just a couple of m... Stayed here with a friend whilst enjoying the amazing food and drink in Bilbao. The hotel is nice and modern, staff are friendly and the rooms are comfortable and most importantly in a brilliant centralised location close to shops, bars and restaurants. We had a slight issue with the room on the 2nd day (nothing serious), management very apologetic and even upgraded us to the superior room which was very nice. Breakfast a bit pricey but good quality. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed for 5 days. Got room 1201 with a decent view (photo) so I was happy. On the 3rd day I realized the room was too hot for a comfortable sleep-- with thermostat showing 26.5 degrees. I got very poor sleep - and as there was no other option, I opened the windows, which resulted in mosquito bites. Next two days I talked to the front desk in person 4 times, and once on phone. They sent a man who could not speak English so we tried our best to communicate with sign language. He was saying the ... Read more

A 10 minute walk from most of the good stuff and close to the coach station for access to the airport. A huge hotel with charming lobby. A little run-down upstairs, but the rooms are fine. The in-house restaurant is a bit expensive. Wi-fi works but a bit stuttery. Good staff. Nice views from the (11th floor) room I had. Reasonable price overall.

so...I don't like 1 star rating but this place is ridiculous, would give higher rating if it was half the price and advertised as 2 stars. Place is really a dump, see the pictures attached, they invested more in the lobby than the rooms. I have even asked the guy at the reception how can this hotel be 4 stars...he loughed and said he does not know. Overall location is good, there is a underground parking close by, cheaper than the hotel one. So if you get a good deal and don't stay for more than... Read more

A nice hotel with a car park underneath.my Moto was squeezed in super tight and boxed in by a car,so super secure.12 floors and a really nice receptionist.Rooms were clean but air con wouldn't come on.they sent engineer to mend it.Afterwards we couldn't turn it off.room service was good.we complained about a squeeky bed and a chap appeared with a key in 30 seconds for a new room.Right in the centre of town ,five minutes from the Guggenheim.overall pleased for what I paid.8/10.

The biggest pro of Hotel Ercilla was the location - in 15 min we could walk to train and bus stations, old town and Guggenheim. I agree with previous posts about questionable "4-star" rating but for one night it was clean and comfortable.

The location of this hotel was excellent, being close to the shopping areas, 15 mins walk from The Guggenheim, and 20 mins walk from Casco Viejo.(Metro and buses also available). The décor was a bit tired and the whole place could do with a good facelift. I only had one breakfast during my stay and thought it was bit pricey at 16E. The standard of cleanliness was excellent with room cleaned thoroughly and linen changed each day. Any dealings I had with staff at reception were very pleasant and ... Read more

We spent the night at the Hotlel Ercilla and it's OK but I'm not sure where 4* came from. The staff are pleasant enough, the rooms are nice but nothing special really, We parked our motorcycle in the basement which came in at 9 Euros per night, quite expensive considering you are squeezed into a tiny space. The high cost runs into the bar prices too, unfortunately, so we went out and about for food and drinks. Back to the room, we overlooked a scruffy courtyard which seemed to look over kitchens... We booked it at the last minute due to change of traveling schedule. This hotel gives you a very positive impression as you enter it--uniformed doorman, a beautiful and huge lobby with a bar; but, the moment we stepped off the elevator on the 9th floor, a very different hotel emerged. The hallway carpet was extremely worn out, the wall paint was fading and poor lighting. Our assigned room was the same--very worn out carpet, poor lighting and tired looking walls. We felt as it we were in a one s... Read more

The hotel has a good location close to the city center. My room was quite big and comfortable. The personnel was quite ok but a bit slow during the check-in and check-out. The breakfast was an average as well as the fitness center. In general I was satisfied.

The Ercilla Hotel has a great location in the center of Bilbao. You can walk everywhere and there is a lot to see. I had two different rooms. I moved because the wifi did not reach my room. I could stand in the hall by the elevators or sit in the lobby to get a connection. No problem in the second room. The rooms were in need of updating. The paint in the bathrooms were peeling off the walls. The carpets were worn, but clean. The beds made noises when you moved or rolled over. The breakfast was... Read more

The hotel's location, friendly staff, parking (although restricted), decent size rooms and facilities nade it a great place to use for visiting and exploring Bilbao. Yes, some of the room's decor might be 'tired', but the bedlinen was new and clean, along with the bathroom and bedroom. Would definitely use again if we come back.

We stayed here one night. The hotel is very central to all sights. The reception is new but the rooms needs to be renovated especially the bathroom as the paint was peeling from the wall. The beds are hard which was gone for us. Breakfast was very busy with a long q but the choice was good. Overall ok but not 4star.

If I have to say something about this hotel in one word, it is "overvalued" hotel. I dont' know that to what is based the quality of hotel rating and it stars. Service was very poor, staff was unkindly and rooms were worn. It was great that the hotel is located in the city centrum and there was a lot of shopping places and restaurants nearby. I recommend you choose another Ercilla hotel, which is located nearby in the old town. It is smaller but offer you much more value for money.
