I stayed at these apartments (Atrium block 4) for a week all-inclusive. The all-inc package is actually at the hotel Monika not the Atrium, the apartment however has all the cooking/kitchen appliances, plates, cups, cutlery and even a washing machine which worked great once we figured it out. There where 2 bedrooms, one double en-suite and one small twin room. The en-suite was the bigger of the 2 bathrooms, both had bath and shower, sink, toilet and bidet and were very clean. The kitchen and washroom were also very clean and spacious. The living room area had 2 double sofa beds, a dining table and chairs and a tall set of drawers that had a tv on top. The tv had about 20 channels but all were Spanish. The balcony was big enough for the 6 of us to sit on comfortably with a table and chairs and a drying rack. The apartment was fully air conditioned with fans in each room to circulate, this was a god send as the temperature was 28/29 degrees every night. There was also an intercom service which was very much needed as you are only given one set of keys no matter how many in your group. This was irritating if the group was separated or doing different things we all had to change our plans to make sure someone was home at certain times, and the key only worked in 1 out of 3 doors. There were 5 lifts that i counted and one was a glass lift that had a great view of the mountains when taken to the top. These apartments also have a nice pool with a waterfall feature and a kiddies pool, the sun hits so the pool area all day so the temperature in the pool is nice. The maid came everyday with clean towels and she made the beds but the sheets were never changed for clean ones. The beach is a five minute walk away and so are the shops, restaurants and the few bars that are open in La Cala. The beach is very nice and clean but very small so we spent most of our time at Levante. We didn't try any restaurants in the area and they didn't look busy as we passed by in the evenings. The bars had maybe 5 people tops at night, we did like Molly Malone's bar at the end of the beach, bar staff were very friendly and came up with some fun drinks for us to try including one called "the gas chamber", it is as lethal as it sounds lol. Now for the all inlusive at the Monika, the walk from the Atrium takes about 10/20 minutes for a healthy mobile person, longer if you have walking difficulties and if so i would not suggest the Atrium all inclusive package to you. Now there are 2 ways you can get there hence the 10 and 20 minute walks, the 10 minute is up the street and through dirty, dog mess filled, smelly streets and at night is not lit very well, also the pathways are slippy due to the bricks they used. The 20 minute walk is towards the beach and round past the pharmacy and shops, this walk is well lit and quite clean but still a little smelly at certain times of the day. I walked this way most of the time as i don't like having to avoid dog mess 9/10 times on the way to eat, kinda puts me off my food. Anyway the food and drink at the Monika was plentiful and very tasty also not repetitive, there was something for everyone and i didn't eat a burger or hotdog once while i was there. The soft drinks were what you would get here and the alcoholic beverages were a mix of branded and unbranded, the measures were huge so be careful as its easy to forget your not drinking normal measures, also the bars serve till midnight everynight. The hotel is very clean including the huge tropical pool with a swim up bar. The reception area has sofas, an information desk, a phone and computers with internet access, if i remember right the charge was 50 cent for 7 minutes or 1 euro for 15. The reception staff are quite ignorant unless your Spanish or speak the language, when we checked in we were told are room was not ready and to wait one hour, so i went back and hour later and asked about the room and ended up waiting at the desk for 45 minutes while at least 20 other guests all Spanish kept getting sorted out before me, i know i am in another country and should probably no how to speak more than the basics but we paid a lot to stay there and deserve to be treated equally. It was not just my party that were treated this way either, and it was the same treatment all week. Also the hotel Monika has a security guard who thinks himself a casanova, we nicknamed him the Mateo of the Monika. He spoke to us a few times and tried to arrange dates but nobody in our group was interested, he is also on drugs according to him, he sneezed as we walked by one evening and said it was due to all the cocaine he had taken the night before, not great behaviour. If you want to go to Benidorm during the day there is a free bus for guests that leaves from the Monika at certain times of the day, this takes you past all the hotels in the Magic chain and you can get off and use the all inclusive at any of them. There is also the number 12 bus to Rincon de loix that takes you all the way to to benidorm for 1.30 euro, this service runs late and on the way back you can catch the 12 bus which says passe Bali, La Cala Finestrat, the last bus is around midnight and drops off right outside the Atrium. A taxi to benidorm costs between 8 and 12 euro depending how far you go. We visited China Garden chinese restaurant on the last night of our holiday and i would recommend it, especially the roast pork in spicy ginger sauce and the sweet and sour chicken balls, the spring roll starter was lovely and a large portion, the rose wine we had was nothing to write home about. The staff were very nice. Visited Morgan's Tavern and saw the Showaddywaddy tribute act, i didn't know any of the songs but they had a large crowd entertained so they must have been good. We also tried KFC whilst their and i have to say it was better than at home apart from the gravy, it was just normal pale chicken stock gravy not the same at all as the tasty stuff in the uk. Anyway hope this helps someone decide on their holiday. If i had to go again i would go either self catering or I would stay in central Benidorm instead.
P.s the deposit is 25 euro each payable on arrival and given back when the keys are returned, and the sea views are no longer at the Atrium block 4 as they are building a huge all inclusive hotel in front of it. It is part of the same chain and looks like it will be great when its done but they have only got the frames up at the minute.
