Stayed here two nights. Very nice hotel - a bit unusual, very very quiet, people hardly spoke, almost silent throughout hotel. Seemed like more of a German/French tourist hotel. Staff was helpful but not friendly, again very very reserved. Views are ridiculous - surrounded on 3 sides by cliffs with drops to ocean, could spend 2 days just taking in views of ocean. Rooms very nice, with perhaps the nicest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel (baths are 5 star hotel quality). Very quiet location i... Read more

My wife and I spent two nights here in April, 2016. We used the parador as a base for touring the Costa Brava and up to the Bay of Roses and as the jumping off point for going into the interior of Catalonia. As a hotel the parador is excellent - spacious room, large, well appointed bath, comfortable bed, prices much lower than Barcelona. The restaurant serves good, large meals specializing in Catalonian dishes. The views along the coast are magnificient.

We only booked two days here and wish we had stayed longer. Our room faced the bay, which I think is better than facing the sea. Spacious room with a balcony. Simply excellent food, especially the breakfast buffet. The beach just below the Parador was charming with lots of activity going on all day. Clearly our favorite place on our trip through Spain.

Great views from our 3rd floor suite - and from all the public areas too. For this reason, I would definitely recommend a stay here. Food is good, staff are helpful, and opening hours for breakfast are very civilised: up to 11 am. Walk down to the beach takes 5 minutes down steps where there is a great restaurant (Toc). We drove to other places nearby but nothing compared to the Parador.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel for a wedding . The hotel is situated in a striking 60s modernist building overlooking one of the finest bays on the Costa Brava . The hotel has spacious bright public rooms with great views of the sea. Our room on the second floor w ;large and comfortable . The pillows and bed linen of good quality. The bed itslef was on the firm side but not uncomfortable . The bathroom was also spacious with a shower over the bath. The balcony overlooked the sea . Breakfast is ta... Read more

This is a beautiful hotel we. Really enjoyed our stay very relaxing Breakfast is great ,service very good . What a shame that diner was absolutely terrible. French fries were soggy meat was served with no vegetables for that price we expected a great dinner the rest of the week we ate in Begur. You should really find a new chef.

There is one advantage about picking a Parador. They are usually in great locations. This one is no exception. It is situated in the most beautiful of places. The views from the hotel are spectacular . That's the good part. On arrival, we were not even greeted by the surly receptionist. We had booked a junior suite. We had to hawk our own bags down to it and to our amazement found it was looking over the car park and not a nice room. Back up again to reception and the receptionist livened up and... Read more

Pros: Spectacular setting on a seaside cliff. Near a small, sweet beach with a couple of dockside restaurants. Really great breakfast buffet, with a huge number of choices. Interesting, modern minimalist architecture in the public spaces. Balconies. Parking. Cons: Rooms are a bit beaten up and basic. Feels like they could use a refurb - especially for the price charged. A lot of steps to get down to the beach. A lot. A bit isolated. To get more restaurant choices, you need to drive into Begur ... Read more

The setting really is hard to beat. I was going to note that bits seemed a little "faded". Carpet worn, paint needed touching up. But im told the parsdor is closing to be refurbished in october so it looks like these small jobs arent being done. It will be closed for around 2 years so visit whilst you can.

The location of this Parador is what it's all about, as the interior is rather plain and unloved. The bedroom was large but dull, and the bathroom rather old-fashioned. We had the feeling the whole place could do with a good face-lift. Breakfast was excellent but the food in the restaurant in the evening was very poor indeed. We only ate there one evening. The swimming pool looks excellent - we didn't use it as we walked down to the beach each afternoon for our swim. Parking isn't ea... Read more

This is a modern hotel, high on a cliff coasting the Aiguablava cove. Beautiful view, Nice and comfortable hotel even if not to compare with other Paradores. We had drinks on the terrace, enjoying the view, A studio room, with updated bathroom and view on the cove. It has its own parking (which a plus) and service was good.

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the fantastic location with views on two coves. The bar, the restaurant, the rooms all have fantastic views on the sea and coves. Breakfast is up to standard for this type of hotel and price. Service is of a parador. Up to standard but do not expect the extra (s)mile. The swimming pool is large; the beach is a short walk down to the cove. We ended up by staying at the hotel and the beach, not bothering to find better places around. The location is great but this hotel is in need of an upgrade. Our Superior room still has decoration and a bathroom from the 70's. Clean but very out dated. Balcony was damaged and the airconditioning is making a lot of noise. Even if you turn it of the aircontitioning of the neighbours will keep you a wake!. Food is poor and of a very los quality all the price is pretty high. Parking is not well organized. Not a 4 star Parador.

we stayed at this hotel for two nights and the staff could not of been more helpful. they food was really good value. the breakfast will fill you up and the bedrooms are clean and tidy. This hotel is not full of technology and the Wi-Fi is really slow. some times it is just good to get off the grid. When you can walk down to the cove and choose form three great restaurants each serving fresh fish you can survive without Wi-Fi. There is a stunning view from both the room and the pool area. The pool area it-self is very nice (the pool is a few degrees too cold but still fine for a swim). The staff is very pleasant and the rooms are nice. A very nice beech is only a few minutes walk away and you can rent cayak and motor boats so that you can experience the beautiful surroundings from the sea. Begur which is a very cosy town is 10 min away by car. This was an excellent relaxing four day start for our tour around Northern ... Read more

This is a modern Parador built to take advantage of its spectacular location high on a promontory surrounded by sea on 3 sides. The architecture is beautiful from within with huge glass windows and vast panoramas, but the exterior is ugly and from the outside pool it feels more like being in a prefabricated factory complex unless you take care to face the sea. It has the usual Parador standards, with good-sizes rooms and bathrooms, attentive staff and local foods. Some of the furnishings are ra... Read more

This is a modern parador built on a beautiful promontory and with magnificent views over the lovely coastline. The outlook from our room over the pretty bay of Aiguablava was breathtaking. The public areas of the parador also take full advantage of the amazing location. I hope that, when the property is renovated, the open outlooks of these public areas will be preserved. Our room was spacious and attractive, but a little dated. Breakfast, as always, was excellent. There is a pleasant and... Read more

We stayed in a suite and loved it - the four suites have recently been renovated. We had one of the two which look out to sea and it was truly amazing - huge room, staggering view, very contemporary design , amazing bed. It was fantastic. We also liked the rest of the parador. The location is amazing. We didn't eat here. Staff can be a bit mixed - some are great whereas others are less helpful. We absolutely adored the location and the spacious halls and restaurant. The buildings and furnishings are effortlessly superstylish. The staff is very good, friendly but not overbearing. Our daughters loved the in-room gym and jacuzzi (Junior suite). The pool area could be a bit bigger.

First of all let me say I'm a huge fan of the Paradors and have enjoyed staying in more than 20 all over Spain and have pretty much enjoyed every one. So for me to criticise this one is exceptional. However, they booked me and my wife into a room where workmen were refurbishing the room above from 8am to 8pm throughout July and August. To say I was shocked is an understatement. To pay 220 Euros for a night in a room for this was simply a disgrace. I couldn't actually believe they had done this. ... Read more

Stayed for 3 nights last month. Had reserved a junior suite (for just my wife and I), thinking it would be more luxurious and might be in a better location than the standard rooms. When we were shown to our room, we were extremely disappointed. The junior suites are on ground level, with a view of cars parked alongside the hotel. Nothing about the room was appealing. LUCKILY, the person assisting us at the front desk (I don't have his name) was able to move us to a standard room, which we l... Read more

Really nice hotel in a stunning location. As other reviews say, it is true that standard bedrooms are a bit old. But they are fine, clean and spacious, and the views are worth the stay. Breakfast and dinners at the restaurant were algo really good.

Great hotel, shame about the Montivent restaurant on the beach. Aiguablada is served by an excellent, inexpensive bus service to Fornells and Begur from June to September. It would be good if this could be extended to cover the months in spring and autumn, as driving in Spain is not easy for strangers to the area. Overall, an excellent experience.

What a location, what views! Cliffs, coves and pine trees! This Parador is in one of the most beautiful areas of Mediterranean Spain. The hotel, while nice and quite elegant, is In need of some update in the bathroom area: The bath tub is old and most fixtures and all racks and grab bars were loose. The generous sized rooms, with balcony, have great sea and cove view . The restaurant is expensive but nice with good food. Where the hotel is a total failure is the information and the service. We visited this lonely place in the second half of August this year, when stayed for 2 nights. The beautiful nature, interesting views, privacy (the nearest town is 15 minutes away by car). The hotel friendly staff, nice view from the room, the room clean enough. The parking of hotel is a lot. A breakfast and dinner was variety, we did not have time to get bored during two days. We have stayed in many Paradors - always excellent rooms and food - this was the exception to the rule. The rooms were dated with poor furniture and bathrooms not to 4 star standard. This hotel is NOT value for money. The actual location is stunning but the hotel should be at least 30% cheaper - it needs upgrading. The majority of the staff were sullen and I would say over worked which might have accounted for their attitude. The restaurant was fine for breakfast but dinner was not good - I saw ... Read more
