Explore the Local Area
Barcelona is located on the north east coast of Spain on the Mediterranean Sea and is one the country`s most important cities, alongside Madrid. It has played a prominent role in the cultural and political development of Spain, a fact that can be seen and admired in its different buildings and historical monuments. Barcelona`s Old Town, the Ciutat Vella takes in the Barri Gtic and the world-famous promenade of Las Ramblas. The former is the city`s medieval core, a maze of atmospheric alleyways clustered around the splendid Gothic Cathedral. Quirky specialist shops and characterful bars and eateries abound. Don`t miss the Museu Picasso and the Museu d`Histria de la Ciutat, as much for their palatial settings as their content.

We were pleased with the location and the lobby of the hotel. However; when going to our room it was obvious they spent most of the money in the lobby. The carpet in our room was dirty, the ceiling tile in the bathroom was coming down and moldy. I always carry disinfectant wipes when traveling and when I finished cleaning the "common" things, remote, light switch etc, the towel was "very dirty". Towels. . well I have rags that have more pile on them. The beds are low to the ground and our m... Read more

My friend booked this hotel via Hotwire. It's decent and clean, but really needs a full updating. The bathroom sink faucets are pitted and the chrome plating is worn down to the brass. The toilet seat is chipped at the edges. The bed is comfortable enough, but if you sit hard your bottom hits down to the platform. Beyond the overdue wear and tear issues, it was ok.

The hotel is ideally situated for tourists, especially those embarking on a cruise as it is very close to the cruise terminal. It is also close to the Metro and bus stops and less than a five minute walk to the wonderful "La Rambla" The staff were very polite, helpful and professional and the breakfasts are good. The rooms are, however, tired and although clean are showing signs of pretty heavy wear and tear. The aircon barely coped and would need to be serviced prior to summer. They offer free ... Read more

Just stayed a night here before going on a tour of Spain. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. Bothe the room and ensuing were very well appointed. The breakfast choice was incredible - almost everything that you could want including freshly made food. It catered well for unadventurous tourists as well as those of us who wanted to try different kinds of food. It was well placed and had many restaurants nearby. Free wifi was available in the rooms. Sadly, no tea or coffee facilities.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Our room was clean, however the hotel could use a remake of the flooring in the halls. Our breakfast was included and was excellent. A patio was available during the breakfast, if you wanted to be outdoors. Polite and very helpful workers. Wifi was available for free. It was within walking distance to the nightlife of Las Ramblas. Safe day and night. We will not hesitate to stay their again when we return to Barcelona.

The breakfast was super with a with wide selection of fresh fruit, bread, sweets, juices and much more. The staff was very friendly. La Rambla is a short 10 minute walk. Next to the hotel is a metrostop. The beds were very good. Next to the hotel was a nightclub. You can't hear the music, just the people talking outside. But with the windows closed it was ok.

Great service, friendly personnel, located near a metro station. The room was fine, except perhaps a bit noisy at night (the street beneath our window was a busy one) but it was clean and spacey, as well as the bathroom. Nice view of the city from our room on the fourth floor. Service was great, people were friendly.

Stayed here for 1 night as a pre cruise stay, was perfect! Check in was easy, ended up getting upgraded to a top floor room with balcony! Amazing views and a rather large balcony for Barcelona compared to others we have previously had! Little shots of lemon water at reception was nice and refreshing after walking in the hot heat! The hotel corridors and rooms it's self are a little outdated and due a refurb.. Only thing that let the hotel down. Very clean and perfect location to stay in. ... Read more

decent hotel, but the place it is located in is not good at all, the only thing you find outside are shops selling fake FCB t shirts & strip clubs & the only people outside are pakistani's & prostitutes. The plus side is that it is not very from La Rambla. Breakfast was decent enough, Rooms were good & there were too many amenities in the toilet but none of them had any use. They said they have a fitness club but it is a 10 min walk from the hotel & not a part of it. I would call that lying.

We thought this hotel was a great value and although a bit out of reach by foot to major sights the metro parrallel was at the doorstep. Very responsive well trained and professional front desk crew. Security guards always polite , courteous and smiling! Rooms well isolated for noise and more than enough amenities provided! We had a minor problem in the the room and it was fixed within a few hours. Overall greatplace to stay and services are of very good quality.

I went down to reception and asked to get another room and we did. It was better but still very old. Beside that, rooms are pretty clean, WI-FI works well, staff is very nice and helpful and there is a metro station right next to the hotel which we used to get to Font màgica de montjuïc and to La Sagrada Familia.

The hotel is 10 minutes from the Ramblas but is just minutes from the Metro on direct lines to Montjuic, Nou Camp and Sagrada Famiglia. Nice restaurants nearby, not too pricy and family room was 2 rooms sharing a bathroom with air con and was ideal. Great location if you want to stay just out of the centre

Have just stayed at this hotel with my grandson for 3 nights. The hotel is in a good location a few minutes walk from the bottom of the Rambla. There are a variety of decent bars and restaurants close to the hotel.Parrallell metro station is yards from the hotel and allows you to reach the nou camp stadium very easily , good on match nights. The hotel itself is good the staff being very cheerful and helpful the public areas are comfortable and the free Wi Fi performs well anywhere in the hotel. Our room might have been a little bit dated but the overall experience was very pleasant. The staff there is very polite and speak English very well. Roomservice is great and everyday when we come back to our room it's really tidy. What's also nice is that there is a metro-line literally in front of the hotel. So it's a good place stay when you want go sightseeing in Barcelona. I Would definitely visit again!

I stayed at the Tryp Apolo for 1 week while in Barcelona and found it close to walk to many iconic and shopping locations, as well as a metro station and bus stop directly out the front to get to the beach (15 minutes on the bus). It had fabulous cafes and bars to eat and drink close by and was a 10 minute walk to La Ramblas with a variety of alleys and shops to explore along the way. The hotel itself is being renovated, so the rooms are clean, functional and roomy enough with a safe, TV, tea/co... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for 4nights with a friend and we really enjoyed it! On arrival we were greeted with friendly hotel receptionists and given a card to our room. Rooms were clean (fresh towels everyday) as well as the rooms being a comfortable size with even a spare bed at the far end of the room!! When initially booked, we chose the room only option however, they gave us the option to upgrade to breakfast for an extra 10 euros for the both of us per day. The breakfast catered for all from... Location is fine, walking distance to most things. Breakfast is brilliant, certainly worth adding to your booking. Rooms are dated (as mentioned in other reviews) and ours seemed to be one of the few non smoking rooms on our floor....The corridor often had a fusty, smoky smell and at times, it smelt like it wasn't just tobacco being smoked!! Our main problem with our room was the noise! Road noise wasn't too bad, but at about 3am we discovered there is some sort of nightclub right below our roo... Read more

What can I say about this - one of the best hotels I've stayed in. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. In particular Jorge was outstanding, we were able to check in early, he advised us of offers they had on breakfast and was lovely. We were able to choose our own room and Jorge advised us which room was best as I'm a very light sleeper. Breakfast was a lovely all you could eat buffet style and the staff greeted you with smiles. The room was lovely, the beds were a ... Read more

We booked this hotel pre-cruise. Loved the hotel and staff. Breakfast was wonderful! Rooms were clean. Although the bathrooms were very clean they showed signs of aging. We only stayed there one night so it was no problem at all. Would definitely recommend this hotel. Wonderful location. Loved Barcelona....hope to return!

The hotel was great & the location excellent. When we arrived at he hotel we were greeted warmly by Deyvis at reception, and told him the reason for our visit was to surprise our friend for her 60th Birthday. She was arriving in Barcelona with her husband the next morning direct from a cruise. He totally entered into the spirit of things & helped us to make everything very special for her. Deyvis arranged for us to have rooms adjacent to one another and as soon as she arrived at the hotel he cal... Read more
