I have stayed in this hotel twice. When I was returning to Barcelona this year again, I knew this was the hotel that I wanted to return too because of my experience the prior year. Despite the fact that this is a Doubletree it feels more like an intimate boutique hotel with unique and special rooms. Their new pool and patio area is a great addition. They have a great breakfast offering in their restaurant with a nice mix of European and American options. Nice location right off of La Rambla... Read more

I just got back from a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel in Barcelona. It is located just off of Passeig de Gracia so the location is great. Upon arrival the staff was very welcoming and friendly, we even recieved an upgrade and at 11 am the room was already ready for us. The hotel has a terrace with a pool, great for relaxing after a day in the city. Very clean and big rooms (especially) for European standards. The bathrooms could use some renovation as they are quite dated. But aside from that... Read more

I had a fantastic experience at this hotel and what I liked the most was the location. Is located half a block from Paseo de Gracia, the 5th ave of Barcelona where all the luxury shops are. It's a 3 Minute walk to La Pedrera, one of Gaudi's creations and a one of the top attractions in the city. The tour buses stop right in front of it as well. There are dozens of restaurants to choose from within 5-10 min walk. I had a flight delay and missed my connection and I arrived a day later in Barc... Read more

Had a wonderful stay. The location is right where the shopping and city is. Plenty is restaurants in the vicinity. There is Vodafone nearby to get a Spainish sim card. We got a warm cookie upon check-in which was nice. By joining HHonors, we get free wifi which is of decent speed. The decor is modern. The furnishings are of high quality and we slept very well in the room. Front desk is always available to assist with questions.

Had a three day break to Barcelona and used this hotel. Staff very friendly and hotel in excellent central location and good value for money. Room was clean and a little clinical but overall was a good place to stay. there are a number of great cafes and restaurants close to the hotel. it is also located next to all the great shops to keep all very happy. We would stay again.

Point to note for my review: I stayed here for a business trip, which means comfort and sleep quality are my main KPIs. For a holiday trip, this review would probably be different. The hotel is so nice and modern, and the staff is very nice, that it is a shame to say I probably won't return for business. Wanting to optimize the space they have in a crowded city, I guess, the rooms are super tiny. Mine was also very stuffy, and the glazed over window led to it all being rather claustrophobic. T... The location was perfect- very close to La Rambla with many restarants and shops and a block away from Passeig de Gracia which has many high end stores. This hotel is in a near perfect location at the top of The Rambla but far enough away from the noisy area nearer the port. The staff here are superb, very polite attentive and helpful, a credit to themselves and Hilton. But beware this is NOT a doubletree standard hotel, we had an upgraded room (allegedly) but it was small and very very basic. Hard floor and steel furniture?, not the best I'm afraid. It's a good 15 minute walk to Las Ramblas & about 25 mins to Barrio Gothic. The room was a little small & being with a friend the barrier between the shower & room was embarrassing because you can see your friend shower. However the service & front desk staff were very helpful. Just don't expect a "normal" Hilton (or Doubletree).

This hotel just recently transitioned to the Hilton network. It's a stylish boutique hotel with nice appointments and modest size rooms. I was traveling with a friend and found the odd-but-trendy bathroom situation and large window with mini blinds less than appealing. Works for a couple but not singles who would prefer more privacy. Four nights, very comfortable, and the staff very friendly. We had a number of activities planned around Barcelona, this hotel was only 15-20 min walk from them all, so a good position. Did stay for a night again on my long transit to South America via Barcelona. I like the location of the hotel and good upgrades to Hilton HHonors Diamond members. Still didn't make it to the breakfast. The air-conditioning could have worked better. It would have been of an issue during mid Summer but this most recent stay was early September.

The Alexandra is located close to Rambla and a bunch of restaurants, bars and high-end shops. The room was pretty basic, but nothing to complain about. Nice little pool area with bar service, good breakfast (though expensive).

We stayed here recently for five nights and the hotel was wonderful. It is in a really good location and the room size is generous, the bathroom was a little cramped and the shower over the bath was a challenge if you are not nimble! We could walk out the front door and find a good selection of restaurants within walking distance, in a safe neighbourhood. The staff at the Alexandra Barcelona are very helpful, however if you speak only English, make sure you get a staff member that understands... Read more

Very disappointing stay this week. We stay at Hilton brands and Hilton resorts all over. Here we decided to splurge for our anniversary trip and upgrade to the room with the private balcony with jacuzzi thinking it would be something special. The location and hotel were huge disappointments. The only thing I can say good is the pool/terrace area in the courtyard. This was a quiet oasis and I really enjoyed lounging in this area to relax. Now for the disappointments. We arrived from ... Read more

Centrally situated, very convenient and easy to go around in city center by foot. Been offered to upgraded into terrace suite with very nice terrace and outdoor bath tub, the only side back is about water flow in shower room was way too weak.

After a long flight, I checked in, and encountered a gentleman at the front desk named Jeremy. He had no interest in helping me at all, I asked for a room near the elevator, he told me that it was near the elevator. When I got to the room, I found that it was at the end of a long hallway. I went back to the front desk and asked for a different room, and Jeremy told me that I could not change rooms. What ever happened to the Doubletree program where they say they will make it right? I ended ... Read more

Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. Rooms were a bit small and no drawers to store our clothes, but otherwise very well appointed and clean. Staff was very helpful and courteous. Almost everyone spoke English. Enjoyed our stay.

Stayed three nights, 2nd week of September, with a group of friends. This is an average DoubleTree hotel, and it meets expectations. Location is good, and close to attractions within 30 minutes walk. It is also close to tour bus stops, which allowed us to venture out. The room is well appointed, but relatively small. I had an issue with hot water in the shower, which was fixed the next day because they didn't have anyone to work on it in the evening. Breakfast was included, and they offered a... Read more

The hotel exceeded our expectations mainly because the staff was excellent and so was the location, I definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again. The breakfast was . They a need a restaurant for dinner that it it is not as expensive as the one they have. The terrace restaurant (inexpensive) is too small.

We lucked out with this hotel - perfect location to jump on the metro or hop on/hop off buses to see all the sights. The room was very clean and comfortable and modern. And the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating! They easily understood and spoke English, and happily did so (not something we always encounter in Europe). They had great restaurant suggestions too. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here on our trip to Barcelona in September of 2016 booked by our travel agent and did she hit it right! The hotel has been designed in a modern style with marble showers and floors and bamboo laminate in the rooms. The room was clean and well maintained by the service staff. The bathrooms were decent but the shower and lavatory exhaust fans were not working, which was a minor concern. The hotel was kind of on the noisy side as there was quite a bit of ambient noise from other rooms ... Read more
