This hotel was recommended by our travel agent, Buon Viaggio Travel in St Helena. Thanks! The hotel was very well located, close to everything important, clean, quiet (although other reviews said otherwise), and the hotel was staffed with really great people. Two outstanding staffers were Marta, who took her personal time to escort us to an ATM that was one she felt to be safe and Marta, who booked us into one of the best restaurants we've found in a long time, Salamanca - our review well be ... very good location, just off Las Ramblas. Rooms are ok, could be better but not bad by any means. There is a rooftop pool what we didn't have time to see. Staff is very helpful and polite. Location is close to everything. Would recommend.

The hotel was very nice and clean. It was close to La Ramblas street and convenient to get around. There were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. There was a large open air market nearby. The hotel desk attendants were very helpful and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was very good with plenty to eat. The coffee machine was great

Hard to fault, room was good, as was the standard of cleanliness. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's location was very good. We did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to eat in the bars and restaurants that the locals did. We was told by our taxi driver, that the prices and quality of the food on the Las Ramblas was poor compaired with the Gothic Quarter and other areas. We found some very nice bar's and a brilliant food market off the streets around the hotel. The only criticism I can th... Read more

Staff was friendly an we enjoyed the little pool on the rooftop. What you pay for here is the location and NOT any luxury- you should have that in mind when booking a room. Rooms were ok, but very old. We don't mind, as we stay in Barcelona to be outside

I booked this trip for me and my boyfriend for his 30th birthday I am really pleased with the hotel and the staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The decor was stunning and the hotel really clean. Rooftop pool and bar are ideal for a relaxing drink. Location was amazing too. We will be back!

The hotel is set off the main street of La rambles. You could nearly walk past it. When you walk through the front doors there is always a lovely smell. Hotel staff were welcoming and we got to check in slightly earlier than 3pm stated. It has a lovely bright foyer with the hotel bar just set behind it.We drank here two of the nights and it wasn't busy either night. The room was for three of us. Ideally it was a double room but three beds fitted in comfortably. They were comfortable. Only set fo... Read more

As others have said, this hotel is in a great location. Just off the top end of Las Ramblas. Close enough to walk to the harbour at the other end, the Gothic Quartet, Gaudi's House and the main pick ups for the open top bus tours. These are a must, as they give a fantastic view of different parts of Barcelona. Next to the hotel is a great little square with excellent Tapas restaurants too. My favourite part was the big square behind the Cathedral in the Gothic Quarter, which was a 6,7 minute wa... Read more

Very good location situated just off Ramblas. Nice clean well equipped room ( terrace room suite 501) nice roof top pool. Just like to say how friendly and helpful all the staff are. Especially a gentleman on reception who takes care of our very heavy cases. Would stay here again.

You can always tell when a hotel is falling short in delivering customer expectations, when the staff at checkout do not ask you "How was your stay" as they are taking your money. The Silken Ramblas is quite a hard hotel to rate in terms of 1-5, the hotel itself is graded as a 4 Star, but realistically I do not see it as that, much closer to a 3 Star. In fairness the hotel image is as seen in photographs on its own website, BUT, this hotel is tired and old. Well at least the room we stayed in w... Read more

Situated just off the Ramblas so easy to get to all the local attractions. The room very clean and tidy, not the best view out the window but we didn't go to Barcelona to sit in the hotel room. The staff we're polite and helpful and a complementary drink on arrival was a nice touch. Couldn't fault it in any way and would definitely book again.

Silken Ramblas is located pretty much in the center on the city just a few steps in from La Ramblas. It is within walking distance of most good bars and cafes. A few minutes walk to the Plaza Catalunya, where you can get on either of the 2 city tours offered in Barcelona or go shopping in El Corte Ingels or have a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe. The hotel also has a rooftop pool and sauna along with a business center which can come in quite handy. Plus when you walk into the hotel it smells heavenl... Read more

Perfect location, bang next to La Rambla! Helpful staff and great rooms. We initially stayed for 2 days, kept out extra baggage in the hotel's store-room (free of cost) as we had to travel on ltd baggage allowance to Italy. On our return we stayed for one more night. On the 1st lag of our stay we got suite rooms, while on our second lag we got regular twin rooms....wonder why? Anyway rooms are beautiful, lobby lovey, buffet breakfast fantastic. Our first impression when we booked at booking.com, was still OK, modern, clean, etc. But when we arrived there, we were very very disappointed & shocked. It began already when we check-ed in, because of a very unpolite and rude female receptionist, who lied to us regarding our wish to have a double bed & a silent room. So, briefly, in fact it is a very expensive 3* hotel, with old furniture, dirty & thin walls, stinky & dirty bathroom with grey towels, etc. It was our 3rd trip to this wonderfu... Read more

We traveled to Barcelona for a friends Hen weekend; a rather well behaved affair, as we are all 'over 30'! We had booked Silken Ramblas without a personal recommendation, so not sure what we would find. The location is brilliant for exploring Barcelona and especially The Ramblas. It's on a quiet side street, off the top of the Ramblas. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, with good English. Our room was perfectly adequate for us; spacious and clean. Not a great view, but we weren't t... Read more

Stayed here lash last year and the combination of cost and great location bought me back on this trip to Barcelona. Yes it's noisy at night but that's the price one pays to be in the centre. The walls are thin and you can hear activity in the neighbouring rooms, ear plugs solved all noise issues and we both slept well on the comfy beds. We didn't have breakfast as we are at bar lobo just around the corner every morning for a 1/4 of the price. All the team are friendly and helpful, the rooms ... Read more

Stayed here for a couple of days last week. Very welcoming staff on arrival & the entrance lobby us warm & inviting. Room lovely & very clean. Views onto main street which made you feel like you were part of the action. You couldn't open the windows fully though as it went onto a very small balcony. Very comfortable bed & great pillows Rooftop pool was nice with good views. No complaints at all here as it's a lovely hotel.

Small rooms mostly overlooking a side passage. Nice rooftop pool with pretty limited menu. Breakfast was nice, but rooms in general in need of an overhaul. Wifi patchy at best, even the upgraded paid for wifi. Limited TV options in English. Reasonable location, but what a great city!

Stayed at Silken Ramblas on business for two nights midweek. Hotel is clean and well organised and has a great roof top pool and bar area for a small amount of people. Breakfast was average, not a great selection didn't eat there at other meal times. Three lifts available so always good access to floors. Main problem I had is being able to hear everything happening in adjoining rooms and above and below. This really impacted my sleep time. I would probably not return, and try another in the same... There are many places to stay in Barcelona, I chose the Silken because of its location. The hotel is very clean, well maintained and offers a nice rooftop pool, bar and sitting area. The hotel has a good restaurant which offers a nice breakfast after a night of partying. Try the Croquetas (ham potato appetizers) at the rooftop bar, they are excellent. Unless you have a front facing room, you will not have any view from your room, but in a crowded city like Barcelona it doesn't really matter to... Read more

If you are looking for a budget stay in the great location this is the place. Hotel is well maintained and clean. Found limited people who speak English but crews are good in gesture and showed warm welcome. This is adjacent to La rambla and walking distance from beach ( about a Km). I was there for business so, didn't get much time to visit surrounding but there are many shopping places around. Breakfast was moderately good. We waited a few hours to checkin, others that had just arrived were offered a free welcome drink. When we finally got to our room (on first floor) they gave us two single beds as opposed to the double bed we booked. They claimed there was none available. The beds are low, extremely soft and uncomfortable and have sharp corners that have scratched me several times already. Very convenient location in the Ramblas-across from the Hotel Meridien. The lobby and breakfast area are updated and comfortable. The reception staff are very friendly. It is probably a good value for the money but... The upstairs hallways are beaten up and dark. I am surprised this hotel was rated as well as it was. The lobby is nice, location is decent - you cant hear Las Ramblas but you can definitly hear neighbors in the hotel, and loudly. The people immediately next to me came in from a late night out and the door sounded like someone slammed my door, and i could hear their conversations quite clear. The room is bare bones, almost sterile but not in a trendy minimalist way. Felt cheap.

Very nice hotel, room was a bit small but we didn't spend much time in the room. The Silken was centrally located, walking distance to great restaurants, the Ramblas, and the metro. Great roof top pool. Lame exercise room. Overall it worked very well for us.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here due to the location & the roof top terrace with pool. Not many hotels in Barcelona have a pool. Whilst the staff weren't that friendly & the heavy doors on each room were noisy when the people either side of us went in or out, we still felt this was fairly minor compared to the benefits if location & rooftop terrace. We would stay again. Never ate there but the room service coffee each morning was good.
