This hotel was recommended by our travel agent, Buon Viaggio Travel in St Helena. Thanks! The hotel was very well located, close to everything important, clean, quiet (although other reviews said otherwise), and the hotel was staffed with really great people. Two outstanding staffers were Marta, who took her personal time to escort us to an ATM that was one she felt to be safe and Marta, who booked us into one of the best restaurants we've found in a long time, Salamanca - our review well be ... The hotel was very nice and clean. It was close to La Ramblas street and convenient to get around. There were many shops and restaurants within walking distance. There was a large open air market nearby. The hotel desk attendants were very helpful and answered all of our questions. The breakfast was very good with plenty to eat. The coffee machine was great

Hard to fault, room was good, as was the standard of cleanliness. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It's location was very good. We did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to eat in the bars and restaurants that the locals did. We was told by our taxi driver, that the prices and quality of the food on the Las Ramblas was poor compaired with the Gothic Quarter and other areas. The hotel is set off the main street of La rambles. You could nearly walk past it. When you walk through the front doors there is always a lovely smell. Hotel staff were welcoming and we got to check in slightly earlier than 3pm stated. It has a lovely bright foyer with the hotel bar just set behind it.We drank here two of the nights and it wasn't busy either night. The room was for three of us. As others have said, this hotel is in a great location. Just off the top end of Las Ramblas. Close enough to walk to the harbour at the other end, the Gothic Quartet, Gaudi's House and the main pick ups for the open top bus tours. These are a must, as they give a fantastic view of different parts of Barcelona. Next to the hotel is a great little square with excellent Tapas restaurants too. You can always tell when a hotel is falling short in delivering customer expectations, when the staff at checkout do not ask you "How was your stay" as they are taking your money. The Silken Ramblas is quite a hard hotel to rate in terms of 1-5, the hotel itself is graded as a 4 Star, but realistically I do not see it as that, much closer to a 3 Star. In fairness the hotel image is as seen in photographs on its own website, BUT, this hotel is tired and old. Well at least the room we stayed in w... Read more

Silken Ramblas is located pretty much in the center on the city just a few steps in from La Ramblas. It is within walking distance of most good bars and cafes. A few minutes walk to the Plaza Catalunya, where you can get on either of the 2 city tours offered in Barcelona or go shopping in El Corte Ingels or have a drink at the Hard Rock Cafe. Our first impression when we booked at booking.com, was still OK, modern, clean, etc. But when we arrived there, we were very very disappointed & shocked. It began already when we check-ed in, because of a very unpolite and rude female receptionist, who lied to us regarding our wish to have a double bed & a silent room. The hotel has a good restaurant which offers a nice breakfast after a night of partying. Try the Croquetas (ham potato appetizers) at the rooftop bar, they are excellent. I am surprised this hotel was rated as well as it was. The lobby is nice, location is decent - you cant hear Las Ramblas but you can definitly hear neighbors in the hotel, and loudly. The people immediately next to me came in from a late night out and the door sounded like someone slammed my door, and i could hear their conversations quite clear. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here due to the location & the roof top terrace with pool. Not many hotels in Barcelona have a pool. Whilst the staff weren't that friendly & the heavy doors on each room were noisy when the people either side of us went in or out, we still felt this was fairly minor compared to the benefits if location & rooftop terrace. We would stay again. Never ate there but the room service coffee each morning was good.

The hotel is just 100m off the madness at La Ramblas, hold on to your wallet..... The great treat with this hotel is obviously the rooftop bar with pool that the children loved after a long and hot day exploring the town. The hotel is not brand new and a small renovation would do the trick. The staff in the reception did not pay much attention to people entering the hotel which was maybe a little worrying considering the location of the hotel.

Great Hotel- Excellent Location, The staff is amazing in how they help you. You are just around the corner from Ramblas, across the street from outstanding food. The rooms are modern and well kept, space is ample, but not overdone for Spain. The Breakfast is the very good - with fruit and eggs and breads- plenty of coffee.

All that was good about this hotel is the location - very close to la ramblas. The rooms and hotel is very old inside - the bath even scratches your skin when you sit in it. Breakfast not included for an expensive hotel. Pool area on rooftop very average. Not worth the price or the star rating.

The location of the hotel is very well situated just off the Las Ramblas. The area around is buzzing till the wee hours in the night. It seemed safe enough to move around even in the night. The famous Tablao Flamenco Cordobes show is just a few minutes walk away !! But you do need to book in advance :) The hotel is quiet and well managed. The staff is good and courteous. The only drawback is the Wifi connection. It works well only in the lobby. The signals are not available in the rooms.

Booked as a family holiday and this hotel initially seemed ideal, on arrival we were advised there was a problem issuing key cards and therefore to get in and out of our room we would have to keep asking at reception, this was the case for approximately 24 hours. The room we were given was dark and miserable with no balcony and no cot provided for my baby. Cupboards were broken in the room and there were no plugs in the bath or sinks to wash my children. Rooftop area was ok, however the pool i... Read more

Great location with a small nice outdoor pool. On the negative side you will hear everything which is said in the neighbour room, the gym is poor and they lack ironing possibilities outside the laundry which is useful if you pack your shirts as bad as I do. For a holiday visit it might be great, but would not recommend for business travellers.

We had the most amazing stay at the silken ramblas. The location of the hotel is perfect, just seconds away from the rambla and la boqueria market. The room was great, very clean and spacious. And the hotel staff was kind and helpful in what ever we asked. The breakfast had a wide variety of food and everything was fresh and delicious. To sum up - we highly recommend the hotel and would definitely come back in our next visit to barcelona!

We stayed here for one night during a whirlwind visit to Barcelona before boarding a cruise ship. The place is a little bit off the beaten path, on a side street off Las Ramblas. But despite that the hotel was close to the action and near some very nice restaurants. Our room was spacious and airy with a french balcony overlooking an alley at the rear of the hotel. Maybe it was because we were exhausted after 30 hours of traveling and sightseeing, but we slept well on the firm bed. The breakfast ... Read more

Looking at the hotel, it is nothing short of stunning; it is modern and so lovely and we had really high hopes for it. The rooftop pool was really nice and the food and drink were fairly priced (considering we were staying just off La Rambla - the biggest tourist trap in Barcelona). However, we faced a problem pretty much straight away with the fact that our door didn't close properly let alone lock and when we complained to reception asking for a new room, they sent a handyman up who managed to... When we arrived late (mid November), our room was cold and uninviting. We tried to up the heating, but it didn't work. When we spoke to the reception the next morning, we learned that the whole heating system is not working, because they are changing to a new system. They offered us an electric heater and extra blankets. The noisy heater heated the bedroom, but not the bathroom. Where is the point of renting a 4 star hotel room where you have to shower in a cold bathroom? Why did they not prov... Read more

The location of the hotel is prime. It's close to everything in this part of Barcelona. About 20 mins walk from the beach and close to tons of amazing places to eat. The room was quite nice, the bed was amazing. The reception was very helpful. The bar staff were a bit disinterested but the drinks were nice. The big negative for us was that there was no soundproofing in the door so we could hear everything from the corridors. But overall, as a city hotel, it's decent

Good location it's right in the middle of places you need to be in Barcelona. Our room at the 1st level didn't have A/C, it's not working. The bathroom is small and tiles need thorough cleaning. Breakfast was great for me because they served all I preferred as breakfast food.
