On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room as we arrived around 11am which is 3 hours before check in. This was fabulous as we were very tired after a early flight. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely with a good view despite only being on the first floor. Huge windows with electric blinds meant you got a panoramic view, but they were black out so you didn't get too much light from the neighboring tourre Agbar, with is beautiful b... Read more

The hotel is amazing! The breakfast was plenty, and also very good. The top with the lounge and swimming pool was great. I did find that the location was better then in the city center. Here you could take the metro just a few steps away. If I ever go back to Barcelona, I am going to chose for this hotel again. For sure.

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Silken Diagonal for 3 nights and we could not fault it. We arrived late morning, when we checked in our room wasn't ready which was not a problem. When we came back later than evening we were told our room had been upgraded to a suite as the hotel was full. We were speechless, the room was unbelievable. Made our trip somewhat unforgettable, we never wanted to leave the room! Location wise the hotel is a couple of minute stroll from 'glories' metro stop, over the r... Read more

Unfortunately a massive let down for the beautiful city that is Barcelona. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, stained carpets and a shower that expelled water smelling of sewage. For the managers information, we checked out a day early even though we paid up front. On check out no questions were asked as to why we cut our stay short. Quite happy as the list of negatives is very long and more wasted time explaining them would have ruined our stay here even more. Very glad to ha... Read more

The room smelt bad the whole time; even after the cleaners. The water from the taps and showers has a really bad smell to it. The bed was as hard as a table and we found it almost impossible to sleep. On top of these two basic complaints; additionally the wifi does not work AT ALL, the carpets were stained and shabby, the fixtures in the room were damaged, the light fitting was broekn showing all the wiring. We had a lovely stay here in June, staff is very polite and helpful, the rooms have aircon, comfortable beds and en suite shower. We had direct view onto the Torre Agbar and could see the Sagrada Familia in the distance-very nice view of Barcelona. View from the top of the roof is even nicer. Good distance to all the important sites in Barcelona. It is reasonable price and good quality service. So I would recommend it!

Location is brilliant if you're looking to explore the city by using public transport, a tram stop is not even a 2 minute walk away which takes you right to the beach. There are two metro stations under a 10 minute walk away which can get you to all of the main attractions. One of the metro stations (El clot-Arago) takes you directly to the airport without needling to change. Walking to the beach would be around a 30-40 minute walk so it's much easier to use the tram, you can get 10 tickets for ... Read more

A while ago, I found the hotel via the internet and the pictures are looking stunning. I was very happy to hear that they could provide us with a room for disabled guests that I needed to go for a citytrip with my mother. Stayed 2 nights pre cruise last week with my husband and his parents. Excellent customer service from reception and the porters. Rooms are beginning to look tired with loose electrical fittings and chipped furniture but were very clean. Only real niggle was the lack of pillows and hard beds. Having stayed here last year I was aware of this situation so emailed the hotel a couple of weeks before hand to request extra pillows but was told they were in short supply and it was doubtful they would h... It is a beautiful hotel and the room was lovely. We would have really enjoyed it if wasn't for certain clientele and the lack of any action/power by the staff to do anything about it. Every single night we have stayed here (3rd night so far), even the first night we arrived, there has been heavy hammering on our door (between 3am and 5am). The first night we thought it was a mid-understanding but since then we know it's a bunch of drunken English men, who look way old enough to know better. ... Read more

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The good reviews are inaccurate for this high of a rating on a hotel. The staff is non-existent. They barely look at you or answer your questions. Most interactions were one word answers with no warmth or greetings. The hotel rooms smell like chemicals, the bed is extremely hard and uncomfortable. It was almost like sleeping on a box spring. The bed linens are very thin and dingy looking. The large screen curtains are loud and if left open ... Read more

Really liked the location as a base to explore , it's just outside the main attractions in what looks like a developing area of Barcelona. The Red tour bus stops opposite , their is a shopping centre currently being constructed. However their a few cafe s open to have breakfast at a good price. You have the tube a few mins walk away or the tram outside so lots of options to get around. Alternatively a cab is around ‚?¨8 to the Rambles. This hotel was the perfect last stop on our trip across Europe. It is very modern, clean, and located near a metro stop and a small mall across the street where there is some great eateries. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The top of the hotel has a rooftop lounge which boasts some stunning views of Barcelona both during the day and at night. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and look forward to coming back!

This is a great hotel in a good location. The hotel is very modern in design, very clean and the staff were incredibly helpful whether it be advising on local restaurants, ordering you taxis or just merely smiling and acknowledging you in passing. The hotel is situated a little away from the tourist centre - it took us 25 minutes to walk to the Arc de Triomf but there is a metro station 2 minutes walk from the hotel and the hop on hop off bus stops directly outside the hotel across the road. ... The hotel itself is around a 15min metro journey to Cataluyna (shopping area) and about the same for the gothic quarter. The hotel is clean and tidy, the rooms are spacious and exactly what we were looking for. We had a room next to the lift and the lift was annoyingly loud, breakfast isn't fantastic so I would save your pennies and go into town for something to eat. The pool is small but a really nice place to spend the day sunbathing, nice and quiet with a bar and snacks
