great rooms very peaceful considering where you are and we loved the roof terrace with a pool. Only downside was the restaurant didn't open for dinner until 20.30 but there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walking distance.

On arrival we were upgraded to a superior room as we arrived around 11am which is 3 hours before check in. This was fabulous as we were very tired after a early flight. The hotel is nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Our room was lovely with a good view despite only being on the first floor. Huge windows with electric blinds meant you got a panoramic view, but they were black out so you didn't get too much light from the neighboring tourre Agbar, with is beautiful b... Read more

The hotel is amazing! The breakfast was plenty, and also very good. The top with the lounge and swimming pool was great. I did find that the location was better then in the city center. Here you could take the metro just a few steps away. If I ever go back to Barcelona, I am going to chose for this hotel again. For sure.

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Silken Diagonal for 3 nights and we could not fault it. We arrived late morning, when we checked in our room wasn't ready which was not a problem. When we came back later than evening we were told our room had been upgraded to a suite as the hotel was full. We were speechless, the room was unbelievable. Made our trip somewhat unforgettable, we never wanted to leave the room! Location wise the hotel is a couple of minute stroll from 'glories' metro stop, over the r... Read more

Unfortunately a massive let down for the beautiful city that is Barcelona. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, stained carpets and a shower that expelled water smelling of sewage. For the managers information, we checked out a day early even though we paid up front. On check out no questions were asked as to why we cut our stay short. Quite happy as the list of negatives is very long and more wasted time explaining them would have ruined our stay here even more. Very glad to ha... Read more

The room smelt bad the whole time; even after the cleaners. The water from the taps and showers has a really bad smell to it. The bed was as hard as a table and we found it almost impossible to sleep. On top of these two basic complaints; additionally the wifi does not work AT ALL, the carpets were stained and shabby, the fixtures in the room were damaged, the light fitting was broekn showing all the wiring. The staff were dismissive and grumpy, the top floor terrace is much smaller than the pho... Read more

I really like this hotel. Great rooms, well presented, great decor and kept very clean. Rooftop bar and sun lounge area is great with a plunge pool too. Good location for the metro (glories) is just a short walk, there is a shopping centre over the road and the Ramblas de Poble Nou is 5 mins walk away for great bars and restaurants. Breakfast in the hotel is expensive ?18 per person - there is a small cafe next door though - we had 2 coffees and 2 breakfast panini's for ?8 - well worth the s... Read more

We had a lovely stay here in June, staff is very polite and helpful, the rooms have aircon, comfortable beds and en suite shower. We had direct view onto the Torre Agbar and could see the Sagrada Familia in the distance-very nice view of Barcelona. View from the top of the roof is even nicer. Good distance to all the important sites in Barcelona. It is reasonable price and good quality service. So I would recommend it!

Location is brilliant if you're looking to explore the city by using public transport, a tram stop is not even a 2 minute walk away which takes you right to the beach. There are two metro stations under a 10 minute walk away which can get you to all of the main attractions. One of the metro stations (El clot-Arago) takes you directly to the airport without needling to change. Walking to the beach would be around a 30-40 minute walk so it's much easier to use the tram, you can get 10 tickets for ... Read more

A while ago, I found the hotel via the internet and the pictures are looking stunning. I was very happy to hear that they could provide us with a room for disabled guests that I needed to go for a citytrip with my mother. The hotel looks fine, but the pictures are very well done and you can see already many damages everywhere. The breakfast was well organised and loads of choices. I have a huge problem with the staff: no 'good morning', no 'how was your stay', no smile when you pass, etc. Th... Read more

We stayed in this hotel for three nights, and as soon as we got their, we were informed that we had been upgraded to a Club Room. The room was beautifully designed and modern. Couldn't ask for more on the design side. We had great views because of the huge Windows, which were easily closed off for privacy with the electric blinds. I had read in reviews that you could hear other people's blinds in use but we had no issues with noise. The rooms were also very quiet and blocked out a lot of noise ... Read more

I had an upgraded room, as there was a two of us staying there. Awesome rooms, with great front service and a great location if you want easy access to the train and to all the major sights in Barcelona. About a 15 minute walk to the beach, a museum next door and Sagrada Familia about 10 min walk.

Stayed here with my partner for 7 nights for a long break and was very pleased with the hotel. Staff were incredibly friendly and were very welcoming even when we arrived in from the airport for a late check in. Staff were always very accomodating giving us advice on the local area and even putting tennis on the large lounge TV when we asked where we could watch it locally. I have just returned from a girlie holiday at this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel isn't quite in the centre of Barcelona but has really good transport links with 2 Metro stations, a tram stop and a train station just around the corner, so getting around is easy. And the centre is only 10 mins away by Metro. We walked to the Sagrada Familia in about 20 mins. And the bus 92 takes you to Park Guell. The pool is really small and in the evening looks like its not clean. Leaks from the shower, air con do not work as it should as i had it on 5 degrees all the time and still it was really warm. Me and my friend have just come back from 3 days at this hotel. The location is perfect, the hotel is one of the best I've ever stayed in and the staff could not do enough to help. I went for my 30th birthday and arrived back to the room to a complimentary bottle of bubbles, what a lovely touch. The hotel is so close to Glories metro station which means easy access to central Barcelona and the hop on hop off bus stops right outside. Would really recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at the Silken Diagonal Hotel from Tuesday to Friday in July and loved it! The rooms are really luxurious and we had an amazing view of Barcelona from our window. The rooftop pool is really small but still a great feature of the hotel and is great to cool down in. I stayed at the Silken Diagonal at the beginning of June 2016, at first glance the hotel looked very cool and sophisticated, the rooms are of a reasonable size and well appointed. However... the rooms are so noisy, I could hear the lifts all the time, and when the person in the next room, either to the left or right, or above and below, opened their blinds, you hear it like they are in your room, I don't think I slept more that 3 hours a night the whole week I was there. The staff I couldn't fault at all, arrived in the morning and was allowed in to our room early, also booking a taxi for our departure which was a massive plus. We stayed 5 nights at Silken Diagonal and were not overly impressed. The interior of the room had quite some damage and tears from guests who stayed there prior to our visit and had not been repaired properly. The WIFI was unreliable at best and as mentioned on other reviews the screens on the window work well but make quite some noise when the neighbors close them. And for a hotel in this price range you would expect a waterboiler, coffee maker or at least a complementary bottle of water, but u... Read more
