Stayed for the F1 Grand Prix weekend and could not fault it. Our second visit here and were equally impressed. Fantastic service from check in to leaving. Rooms are really nice and comfortable and have a safe, wardrobe with plenty of hangers, hairdryer, fridge and drinks making facilities. I stayed with my family for 3 nights in May and we were all underwhelmed by the experience. To begin the staff on the check in counters are extremely slow. Don't be surprised if you are waiting 15 minutes to be seen, then if your room isn't ready waiting again to get your keys later on. Quite frustrating when you want to be out exploring Barcelona. Stayed for two nights prior to a cruise. Used points for room and paid a small upgrade to ensure that our 18 year old daughter would have her own bed. Hotel is in an excellent location. We walked to Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas. The hotel navigator provided excellent restaurant recommendations and directions to nearby sites. The hotel is well located. The rooms are clean nice but the ones we had were bit small... The stuff is well trained helpful and happy. It is not a boutique hotel but wants to be one within its limits. This hotel deserves following visits. Well done.

We booked Executive Room for 5 nights and we got very small room with a small windows to the interior of the hotel. Hotel staff admitted that we got it because we booked through Booing.Com. The day after when they realized that we won't give up they moved us to a bit better room BUT noisy and with a tiny bathroom we decided to give up!!!!!!!

My husband and I traveled to Europe for our honeymoon and Barcelona was our first stop. This is a very nice hotel that was within walking distance of several attractions including La Sagrada Familia Basilica and other Gaudi architecture sites, Las Ramblas, Gothic Area, etc. All of the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. An excellent hotel about a 20 minute walk from the downtown but lots of restaurants and attractions near hotel. Staff were friendly, breakfast was average and rooms were clean and well laid out. The only complaint is WIFI which was expensive. Hotels need to realize that free WIFI is now EXPECTED.

As one whom travels a lot, this hotel is very clean and its staff is very helpful. A lot of cruise travelers stay here before and after their cruises. The roof top bar off the 8th floor is a nice place to relax from a long day of site seeing to have a cocktail. There are a lot of attractions, restaurants and shops within walking distance.

We stayed in this centrally located hotel for three consecutive days. We managed to see all of Barcelona's major attractions including the walk through La Rambla (watch for pick pockets). The rooms were clean and depending on your choice of rooms, you can have a clear view of the famous Familia Segrada church. This hotel is great -- out of the city only 10-15 min metro ride. Loved the vertical garden. We got a black room which was excellent. Micaela got us all situated at check in with all the information we needed for our stay. One of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Unfortunately the rating of this hotel comes from it's false advertisement. It's advertised as having a rooftop pool and bar. The pool on the roof is little more that a wall fountain with a peddling pool beneath it, deep enough for you to put your feet in. That's silly. Also, the rooms are incredibly small.

Barcelona is a world-class city, with many distinct neighborhoods and hundreds of hotels. We stayed at the Renaissance which is right in the heart of the L'Eixample area. Very nice modern hotel and our room was lovely. Upon request, the hotel brought in an extra cot (roller bed) for our younger son. Plenty of space for us plus our two boys.

We just stayed here a few days before leaving on a cruise. The staff was friendly and the location allowed us to walk to most of the sights we wanted to see. We are walkers and don't mind a 20-30 minute walk to get someplace. The hotel is around the corner from Casa Batllo and about a 25 minute walk to Sagrada Familia. You canal so walk to Las Rambles. We arrived in Barcelona with great expectations of the Renaissance. It is a modern looking hotel with a cool vibe. It is centrally located for walking the city. Good restaurants are close to the hotel along with Tapas 24 just two blocks away. Our disappointment was with the size of the rooms. This is a modern hotel with nice furnishings, air conditioned rooms and a 24 hour gym which is equipped with free weights and cardio vascular equipment. I went to Barcelona 2 weeks ago with my 2 adult daughters so we shared a room. The hotel was very conveniently located to attractions, shops, restaurants, etc. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It was also very quiet. Stayed at this hotel during peak tourist season- busy lobby and had to line up for check in and check out services. Rooms are small but clean. Good amenities. With in room illy coffee maker. Rooftop patio is nice with tasty sangria. Buffet breakfast is excellent and the staff are very helpful. Hotel is within walking distance of the main shopping avenue and close to metro station.

Hola!! We are returning here for the 4th time. Situated just off Passeig de Gracia, it's close to great shopping and a comfortable stroll to attractive neighborhoods and restaurants. The Marriott brand is reliable and this one doesn't disappoint. Comfortable though small rooms. Baths feel spacious. Beds and pillows just what I need after a day of sightseeing. Speaking of relaxation after a long warm day, the bar is the first place we collapse. Good food and refreshing drinks.

We arrived at the hotel a little worse for wear due to battling crowds on the French Railways due to a labor strike. We were greeted by Teresa, one of their many helpful employees, who they refer to as "Navigators". We requested a room change and were promptly moved to another room. I was at renaissance few months ago for a city break. Great location just right next to paseo de gracia and all interesting places. I just want to mention that what made our stay superb was not the room etc but the friendly staff, they are the 5 stars especial mention to the happiest concierge woman maike, the joker luis with its warm welcome and the superb manager lorena who gaves us amazing tips, we enjoyed a very local barcelona and we loved it! We have an apartment 50 meters from this hotel and we suffer from the noisy illegal parties that they organise in their rooftop terrace. The music is so loud that it is impossible to be at home, of course it's impossible to sleep. We tried to talk with the hotel staff but they always lie to us saying that the situation will improve. On the next day they have again their loud music on. Please don't stay at this hotel.

Unfortunately it was a quick stay but I would stay there again. First of all: location! It's very central yet not in the midst of the more touristy areas. Beware rooms are small in Europe with bathrooms that only have half shower doors. This hotel is very clean, good bar area and great bartenders. Roof top bar is nice also. We stayed at this hotel for four nights before we took a 14 day cruise around Spain. I knew the rooms would be smaller than American hotels so that was suspected. They did have ample closet space and drawers as we did not totally unpack and just took out things we needed for those days. WE thought we were getting a king bed- at least that is what we reserved. Rooms are nice and many points of interest are a 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. Roof bar is a great place to enjoy the view and music on some days. Service is not great and some staff were unpleasant. Will not return to this hotel. Last visit to Barcelona we stayed at the W and enjoyed a wonderful stay there.

If you want to see something exceptional in Barcelona, you have to see the Renaissance in Barcelona. Stylish and new, it screams ??look at me?? when you enter the lobby. The rooms are all decorated with palm tree-shaped windows, and are either black or white in their decor. Food is excellent so is staff. Highly recommended.

There is a separate counter for Elite customers but that was about all the benefits I had for being Platinum. There were better rooms available that was given to people with no status and paying a cheaper rate, while I was given an accessible room at the end of the hall with no view and it didn't have any of the Executive room amenities. I've stayed at this hotel several times for business in Barcelona and I'm never disappointed. The rooms are ample and well furnished. There is free wifi everywhere in the hotel and the buffet breakfast is excellent. From the minute you walk in the there is a warm welcome and friendly staff available to make your stay more pleasant. We have been there for sight seeing during the weekend and booked a Twin room containing one additional bed for our son. When arriving there the Check in was quite unpolite and the room was not ready. It was really dusty inside and the bath room was not what I expected from a category 8 Hotel. I have seen much much better Marriott Hotels around the world. I myself will never stay there again.

This place has a great central location to explore the city. Close to everything. Nice rooms that are very comfortable with great air conditioning. The 8th floor Terrace Bar is really nice with a nice view of the surrounding hills and city with great tapas and cava. Would definitely stay here again.

This was my first stay at this particular hotel in Barcelona, having been here on 4 different occasions. It is set in a superb location a block off of Passage De Gracia & also from Casa Batllo. The hotel is very modern & clean. The beds are super cozy. There's a nice roof top bar with expansive views of the city. The breakfast is very good too. I usually stay at the Hotel Arts (Ritz Carlton) in Bra?a, might be staying here on a go forward.

Very easy to get to from Barcelona??El Prat Airport using the metro. It costs 4.50 euros per person and takes about 25 minutes to get to the hotel (Europa Fira station). You don't need to change metros or anything and it is air-conditioned. We used the T-10 zone 1 to travel around (it can't be used airport to hotel), and this took us to all the touristic site Barcelona offers. I highly recommend staying at the Renaissance if you are looking for Hotel in Barcelona. The location is great. Walking distance to shops and restaurant. Even a little grocery store across the street. Rooms are small but that is normal for international hotels. If you get the executive suite, breakfast is included. Therefore I highly recommend upgrading. But the best is the Rooftop bar. Perfect to relax and view of Barcelona is amazing.

Spent three nights prior to cruise. We found the staff to be very friendly and very helpful. While the rooms are somewhat basic, they were definitely clean and big enough. Shower was great. Nice view from the roof. Good sized rooms and bathrooms. Great to see action large enough to move around in. Wonderful location which makes the local attractions easily accessible. Good position to stay.....close to Hop On Hop Off bus stop for sightseeing around Barcelona. Rooms very basic but clean and bed was comfortable. Only complaint was the shower did not work so had to make do with the bathtub.

We chose the Renaissance for a long weekend with some girlfriends, due to its excellent location near the Gaudi buildings and accessibility. The hotel is very comfortable, friendly staff and great customer service! We wanted a special paella dinner, and as some of our party had allergies, Sebastian made sure we all got an amazing dinner experience on the rooftop terrace along with some delicious cocktails. The hotel is so nice and the people that work their are really wonderful. Our room was upgraded to the Executive Floor which is the 26th floor. The main issue is that the terrace bar is one floor above the 26th and it is a rooftop bar. The sound from the bar went directly into our room. Spent two nights at this upscale hotel as part of a Viking ocean cruise and found the hotel clean and staffed by professional staff personnel. The included breakfast was good with a wide variety of food. Location of hotel was excellent as it was near major sites and transportation but it was pleasant to walk to many locations. Many restaurants are nearby with good local specialties.

Stayed here for two nights pre cruise. The hotel was nice. We had a room on the first floor which was quiet but had no view. The shower setup was strange because the glass didn't keep the water in and kept soaking the floor. The rooftop bar was overcrowded the first night we tried to have a drink there. The hotel is located in a convenient location in Barcelona. The room size is really small with average furniture. I booked 2 interconnected executive rooms and I stayed there long enough to experience all the hotel aminities. The hotel is location is very convenient to visit the many different sites in Barcelona. We were in walking distance to the main strip that allowed us to grab the walk-on walk-off Bus that gave you a great tour of the city! The concierge at the Hotel was very knowledgeable and was eager to help with anything they could. Everyone was very nice and profession. The rooms are small but very comfortable. We spent one night here as a pre-cruise stay and loved everything about this hotel. The front desk staff and Concierge were both warm and attentive, the bartenders and restaurant staff couldn't be any nicer or more efficient and our upgraded accommodations were well-appointed and clean. Stayed here for a few days for business. Barcelona is a lovely city and this hotel is centrally located. The hotel rooms are very well presented. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Very important note though I'd you need parking be warned the car park in the hotel is very tight. Any car larger than a compact will struggle to get in and out. I had to pull in the mirrors to get my car in. Parking in Barcelona can be expensive so if you don't need a car don't bring one.

the hotel is located in city center, there is a metro station nearby. it is a small hotel, with very tiny rooms. and there is no bidet or handheld bidet in the toilet. the service is amazing, they will do anything for you.

Stayed 2 nights at the beginning of our Mediterranean cruise. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be located close to restaurants, shopping and within walking distance to most of the big attractions (Familia Sagrada) in Barcelona. This is a nice hotel with a very good location and the room and bathroom ware fairly big. The best part was service was very good as I had a sprained ankle and asked for some help with salt and ice and they would provide me immediately every day except once and for which they profusely apologised. We loved this hotel. Centrally located in a beautiful area of Barcelona. The staff here are AMAZING, especially the bartenders at both of the bars. They truly made this a great experience. There were unfortunately no room upgrades available but the standard room was just fine for a nights stay. Spent three nights here prior to our 13 night cruise. On check in the staff were very friendly and helpful and when we checked in prior to 1500 we managed to get our room right away. Our twin room was lovely and spacious. Breakfast was buffet style and a reasonable choice. Rooftop bar had lovely view and really good Sangreria. The hotel was really central to all tourist attractions. The staff giving advice of where to visit and eat.

Stayed for a company off-site for 48 hours. Late/delayed check-in but the room was very clean, very comfy bed and decent size room. Nothing special and not on par with other Renaissance hotels but to be fair, locations like Aix en Provence are much newer. A safe bet, good bar area and very helpful friendly staff. Stayed here with my small group tour. Great location. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Nice size room. Room was quiet. Mini bar and safe. Stayed six nights for a business trip. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center and close to many attractions. The room was clean and service is good. My room faces to a school building and it was a bit noisy during the recess time. It was quiet during the night though. Staff are very friendly. I only had breakfast in the hotel which was quite delicious. There is a small bar right across the street with nice music and decent beers. Will stay there again next time.

This hotel is in an excellent location for seeing the sights. Most sights are within a comfortable walking distance. Our room was comfortable and clean. The touches for Marriott Platinum were nice. The staff is friendly and helpful for the most part. We had an initial glitch over an earlier check in because of our flight but that was rectified in the end. Don't count on an early check in! Overall our experience was great. Don't forget to check out the rooftop lounge. Great views.

Nice hotel, good location. But: No pool, neither indoor or outdoor....not sure where those glam rooftop pool pics come from. Nice rooftop terrace towards the main drag. No spa either. They contract with a spa nearby, and you can go there or have them come to the hotel in a specific treatment room, but else, no spa. The gym is small, 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical, 3 stationary bikes, a small area for lifting, one multipurpose weight machine.

The Renaissance Barcelona is centrally located but geared to the business traveler. The staff was attentive and helpful. It is reminiscent of a boutique hotel. I'm currently staying here and as I speak I'm experiencing pretty poor service in the hotel bar and restaurant which is really disappointing to be honest. This is the best Marriott so far with a great central location, fantastic views from the upper floors, a good complimentary breakfast with an excellent assortment but most of all because of their staff. We spent a couple of nights here before a Med cruise in October. The hotel was excellent, very comfortable, immaculate. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. There is a nice rooftop bar as well. The hotel is conveniently located to Las Ramblas, Placa Catalunia, Sagrada Familia and all of the other touristy sights. Either an easy walk, or Metro access. Highly recommend this hotel for its location, quality and service.

We booked the hotel for a long weekend. Yes its out of the city but with a metro pass for £25.00 for 4 days, it was fantastic value and relatively easy to. Rooms were modern and very clean, breakfast was included and was all you can eat buffet and the staff were extremely friendly. Bar prices were reasonable. I would struggle to say anything negative about our stay.

Bad start cramp 3 people max elevator. Dark damp ugly and close hallways. Very small ugly and uncomfortable room. Super small keep your elbows tuck shower with a rubber plug for the sink style tub.
