Lovely old style hotel, charming and comfortable and relaxing. Central location. Food was good and room perfect. Service was very good. Near public transport and bus tours and sightseeing. We travelled by train to get there as it is down a narrow street . Ideal for city break. Parking non existent. We got to see what we wanted to see eg. Sagrada Familia and the cathedral and we also went on the cable care to Mont Juic and saw a very good view of the city.

This hotel is in a little side street just off la Rambles. I thought initially it would be noisy being in such a central area, but the only noise was from selfish guests coming in late at night, and once they had settled, it was fine. Lovely entrance to the hotel, quaint, charming. Great staff. We were only here on room only basis, but we could have had breakfast, but chose not to, preferring to go out and sample the various nearby cafes etc. We had two single rooms on separate floors, my room 2... This hotel has a lot of pros and cons though overall I would stay here again. It has been newly remodeled and it is charming. The location is excellent. Most of the rooms are VERY small so ask for a bigger room! After we changed the day after we arrived we were much more satisfied and it was the same price for a much bigger room. I believe it was room 375. The staff is very nice. However, the rooms are stuffy, the AC is sluggish and the windows open into a shaft which was very noisy and the beds... Read more

Stayed for six nights, but only slept for three due to night noise of bin collection. Room overlooked a side alley which the bins were trundled down - very noisy. On the plus side the small room was exceptionally clean, the shower good, water hot and reception area quite beautiful. On the down side the bathroom was accessed by squeaky sliding glass doors, making using the bathroom at night a problem as the bathroom light illuminated the whole bedroom. Overall the hotel is in a great location... Read more

The hotel does not look anything like it does in the pictures. Its lobby is crammed and the grandeur soon disappears as you leave the lobby and head to the rooms and corridors. The service was terrible, and I hesitate to say this but I believe I was a victim of racism right at the front desk. As I arrived, I witnessed a Caucasian (American) couple being served, and naturally I waited for them to finish. However, the difference in the attitude of the receptionist was starkly different in both sce... Read more

This hotel is just off La Rambla and a stones throw from Placa Catalunya where the bus arrives from the airport. We went with friends and ended up with identical rooms. It was small, but adequate. The only negative was we looked out into the internal wall of the hotel and the window was opaque so there was very little light in the room. The bathroom was fine and overall we were very happy. We had heard Barcelona would be full of pickpockets near La Rambla and wondered if we should take a chance staying near this lovely avenue, coming home in the dark, people brushing up close. Nothing to worry about on Calle Santa Ana where this hotel is located. Actually we never experienced any trouble with theft here. We went to Barcelona with my friend and reserved a hotel that seemed good. When we first arrived to hotel we were positively suprised by it's location - it was near everything. The main street La Rambla is like 2minutes away and everything else is also very near. We were exited. Then we got our room. The hotel is in a fabulous location with La Rambla street right out the front with fantastic places to eat and shop. Front desk staff are helpful. Unfortunately we were in room 250 and throughout our 4 night stay every morning around 7:30-8:00 there would be stomping and scrapping chairs in the level above us that woke us up. This hotel is well-placed. We were able to walk from here to almost everywhere - even to the Sagrada Familia and Barsaloneta. That said, its not a great hotel. The rooms are just okay. They have been updated lately but in an uneven way. The saving grace of our room was our large balcony, which overlooked the balconies of the apartments inhabited by local residents. We didn't buy the breakfast- there is a patisserie just across the street that we used instead. It is a drag not to be able to have ... Read more

Easy to get to with the Aerobus straight from the hotel too. The Hotel was in a side street off the main street to the port. A lovely old style Hotel with very helpful staff, good food and comfortable rooms. Architecture of Barcelona is extremely Gothic and very attractive. The Cathedral was started in the 19th Century and is still not finished and the intricacies of stonework is breath taking. The hotel is a terrific location. Cecilia was just lovely at the front desk. Helpful and patient with our many questions and always ready to assist. Beautiful older building. It was a bit noisy at times as you might expect with an older building near the action, but that was part of the charm. We just kept the bathroom fan and light on all night and it was just the right amount of "white noise". Didn't bother with breakfast which is extra because little patisseries so near.
