I stayed at this hotel while in Barcelona on business. The location was perfect for where I needed to be in the city and within walking distance of good restaurants. The room was clean and functional. Unfortunately I did not get much sleep during my stay for a number of reasons. First of all where my room was located there was quite a bit of noise from people out on the street but worse than this there seemed to be a large group of young people staying. The noise in the hallway outside my room, ... Read more

I managed to grab a deal of this hotel for couple of nights through agoda.com Hotel itself it at a very convenient location, not very much clean, beds are just alright as well. You would expect staff be friendly and helpful but that wasn't the case unfortunately. Air conditioning wasn't working and couldn't be fixed throughout the month of April. As a result it was too warm to sleep at night.

First visit to Barcelona. After much research decided on this hotel. Excellent safe location. Only a few yards from the bottom of La Rambla, the sea end. Safe neighbourhood and always 2 on reception keeping a watchful eye. Excellent value by pre paying for the room. Did not have the breakfast but had a few coffees and croissants at the many cafes close by for a few euros only. Only about 200 yards from Drassanes Metro stop on the green line. No bar but there are millions around. Walked to Barce... Read more

Hotel in great location just on the sea front and close to the beach. The rooms on the ground floor very very noisy, when the toilets flushed on other floors you can hear it running down the sewage pipe in the room, not recommended. The breakfast is awful, worst I've ever had in a hotel. My advice eat out locally. The staff where passive, showed little joy for there jobs. Barcelona a beautiful city with lots to do and see..

Lovely hotel and brilliant staff. The only downside is there is no bar in the hotel, but there are loads nearby. We loved Gran Turino which was a couple of doors down. Highly recommend the tourist bus to see the city.

Beautiful hotel. Room 420 was spacious and clean. Front desk staff were friendly and more than willing to help with any questions. Highly recommended. Didn't have breakfast but grabbed coffee in the morning and the restaurant staff were more than obliging.

Rooms are very comfortable, and situated close to the ports and right in the Gothic Quarter. It took us a while to get our bearings, and appreciated just where we are located. Don't bother with the breakfasts at hotel. There are plenty of places near by. Look for the places in the lane ways or at the market a few hundred metres up vibrant La Ramblas. Good food to be had. Unfortunately we chose to include the breakfast at the hotel, and the hot food just wasn't. There was plenty of choices on off... Read more

It is near city center and the location is kind of romantic in old part of the city near the center but sadly my room was on the first floor with the windows facing the noisy street. I don't recommend any of the rooms facing the street. Pick the upper floors if you can. Since I had my earplugs with me I didn't change the room. Some things still worth mentioning: I immediately noticed that there is no carpet on the floor, instead it was a very cold stone floor. Carpets can be nasty and expensive ... Read more

This is not a 4 star hotel by any means. Its only advantage is location. The staff is trained poorly. They charge for a security box key, they don't tell you until you get into the room. So, you have to make pick up the key. There is nothing in the bar. No breakfast. No coffee maker, Amenities in the bathroom are minimal. We were asked to change our room for a less comfortable one, because they had made a mistake in assigning it to us!!! Of course, we refused. This shows how poorly the staff is tr... Read more

The Hotel is located at the end of the Rambla in a quiet street. The hotel is kind a romantic in the old part of the city center. Its right by the harbour and 10 minutes from the beach. The rooms are big and clean. The pillow is kind of hard, but ok. If you want to use the safe you need a key witch they will charge you for. If you want a taxi the reception said it would take about 20 minutes to get a car, so its much easier to just go out to the street to get one. They will write you on a lis... Read more

The reason you stay here is to be closer to the beach and/or the gothic neighborhood and nothing else because amenities are few and far between. It's pricey for what it offers and you really can't go by the fact it's been given 4 stars. Europe has a 5 star rating system and lux hotels are actually over 5. Pays to understand the hotel rating system before you choose! Anyway the room itself was in need of an upgrade with the wallpaper peeling off and bathroom showing signs of wear and tear. The li... Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of June 2016. Well situated at the southern end of La Rambla, 2 minutes walk from Columbus statue. Pleasant enough hotel with smaller than average room. Left a £10 jacket in the room with my wallet containing £100 and a debit card. Phoned hotel same day from a cruiseship to explain I'd pick it up the following week when I returned to Barcelona. Jacket returned minus wallet. Don't make my mistake and leave valuables behind as you won't see them again.

Breakfast was okay (12.5 euros plus tax if not included nightly rate) - some not so hot, hot dishes, cold meats etc. Wi-Fi was fine. Medinaceli is a great deal. Strongly recommend. It is centrally located in the Gothic Quarter a few short blocks from La Ramblas, at the Eastern end of La Ramblas as it heads toward the beach and promenade. The Dressanes metro (green Line 3) is 3 minutes walk. I had a 3rd floor room which had two little balconies, one off of the main room and the other off of the attached ensuite bathroom, and there was room for a chair on the main balcony and enough space for two to stand out on it. Corner shop, bars and tabac in the square the hotel is located on as well as it being a 5 minute walk from the harbour, gothic buildings and las ramblas. Excellent location. First room was very old, small, dark, and the ligths didn't work, after having spent the whole day walking I had to ask for support 5 times, after which they did change my room. Second room was on the ground floor, adapted for handicapped persons. Very noisy and had a rat, so I had to move again! Third room was acceptable. Wi-fi didn't work, breakfast was very poor. I stayed for three nights to attend a conference but elected to stay not at the conference center but closer to the touristy sites. This hotel is an easy walk to Barcelonetta, La Rambla, the subway, etc... and I had plenty of easy-to-reach sites and restaurants. My room on the fourth floor had a view to the tree-lined park where the hotel is located. The room is functional and had a spacious bathroom.
