We spent 3 nights here in January for a short city break. Although not the highest rated hotel on offer (perhaps because of older reviews), we chose it mainly for its superb location but were very pleasantly surprised and pleased by the hotel itself, which is very well appointed, modern and stylish inside, with an impressive classic facade to the outside. Staff were very friendly, helpful and well organised. Our air conditioned room was on the 3rd floor, with a small balcony looking over the s... Read more

Situated very close to the beginning of Las Ramblas we were switched to this Hotel due to an issue with one of our rooms original booked at the Hotel Colonial. We were advised that the Media ceiling was a better upgrade for us and that there would be no extra charge for our stay there. The hotel foyer was small but clean and well presented. We were checked into our room after arriving and we were situated on the first floor with our friends directly above us on the second floor. There's a won... Read more

We stayed here for four nights and I can say we were really happy. The room was nice the bathroom nicely designed and the hall was just stunning. So many things to look at it felt like we were in a museum. The breakfast was ok nothing special. The staff was really nice but the best thing must be where it is located. It is just around the corner of the Rambla and very close to the sea. The only weakness are the ancient windows which are not really any good. It was quite loud the first night altho... Read more

Beautiful architecture for a hotel close to La Rambla. Friendly staff and very clean. Expensive parking but it is Barcelona. Close to everything. Look on line for a good deal. I'd definitely stay here again.

Friendly and welcoming day/night reception willing to provide good advises on activities around Barcelona as well as price offers and travel plans. The facilities provided everything I needed for my stay wich was mostly exploring parts of the incredible city for which I didnt have time during previous visit and studies, and I felt safe as a Solo traveler

This is the prefect example of a once great, probably magnificent, hotel that has been ruined by accountants. The economies of size have been bought about and while grey suited money men get excited about saving 1 cent on a bar of soap the 'guests' suffer. It is the only hotel I have stayed in for a long time that lacked the key ingredient of a hotel... 'Hospitality'... which is strange because the Spanish are renowned for being hospitable. There are good points so let's get to those first:- ... Read more

This was our first visit to Spain. We chose this hotel for its location and were delighted by our experience. Unlike the experience of some others, we had great service from reception. The room was not huge, but we weren't expecting to spend much time in it. he bathroom was roomy and well set out. We loved the breakfast buffet - a range of foods to suit all nationalities and the best bacon I have ever eaten (not a surprise when you visit the markets). Near to the foot of La Rambla, the Medinace... Read more

We had reserved a night at Hotel Medinaceli at the end of October thru AAA travel club. When we tried to check in the assistant manager said they were completely booked and that we had moved to another hotel. The time of our stay was off season and during the time we discussed this matter at the front desk we did not see any guests enter or leave the lobby. The hotel they sent us to was of poor quality and did not compare to what our expectations were when we booked at the Medinaceli. Despite th... Read more
