I visited this beautifull, small hotel, and I was very satisfied with their hospitality and kindness. The food in their restaurant was fantastic, it was the best paella I've ever eat. Atmosphere in this hotel is so nice, that you might think that you are visiting your friends. I hope that I will go there again.

Each time I visit Barcelona, i make sure to have a meal at La Ciudadela. It is consistently excellent. The fall menu is no different. The stuffed artichoke appetizer is one of the best apps i have ever eaten! Staff is very hospitable and the wine is great, too!

Friendly atmosphere, very professional staff, tasteful food, nice location, at heart of Barcelona, close to the park and Arc du Triomphe, with very friendly staff at the reception and amazing Catalan meals in the restaurant

Excellent location right opposite a major park, with huge fountain- waterfall, boating pond and palm houses. Also near to old town and Arc de Triomf station. Room small but clean; small shower/bath with good hot water. Bed comfortable. Our outside room was noisy during evening with restaurant diners, but became quiet later. Excellent restaurant; great food. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Good value for money.

This was such a great little hotel. Loved the location...short cab ride or reasonable walk to main sights and close to Barcoleneta and a beautiful park across the street. My only complaint was there was no hair dryer ???...but great price and great stay.

Lovely little hotel, great base for exploring Barcelona with a lovely park opposite. We stayed one night and enjoyed drinks from the bar and exploring nearby, short walk to Las Ramblas, lovely receptionist who gave us directions etc. Shower wasn't up to much at all but ok for a quick, cold 'wash'. We didn't complain as just staying one night.

The location is great. Opposite a beautiful park and a short walk to Franca railway station for trains (renfe). The food is wonderful an although I didn't have menu del dia it seemed very good value and scrumptious food. I had a two course meal one evening and it was lovely. Being a solo traveller I felt very comfortable having a drink outside in the evening. I tried to book this accommodation again but it seems to have increased in price and gets booked up quickly. The staff were all very frie... Read more

I stayed at La Ciudadela in Barcelona for 4 nights and I have been very happy. The hotel is resonable priced wise, with great service and very polite staff. My room was perfect, modern, clean, cool; Its location is great for getting around Barcelona - short walk to the Arc de Triomf train station. If you're willing to walk, the old Town is 3 mins walk, Sagrada Familia 20 mins & the beach 30 mins. La ciudadela is the proper place to stay.

The only good thing about "La Ciudadela" is the location, a stones throw away from the old town. But even for a modest city Hotel, I would rank it definitely below average. The rooms are really small, the noise levels are high, as the Hotel is situated on an avenue, and the rooms are very poor equipped. No Refrigerator, Phone (although almost nobody needs one anymore), Hairdryer or Mirror outside the Bathroom. But I could accept all these potentially trivial shortcomings. What I think was unforg...
