The hotel was very nice! The room was not that big but very clean the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also absolutely ok. At the breakfast everything was delicious. The location is a bit outside from the city center but Sagrada Familia is just a few minutes walk. Recommended hotel.

I visited this hotel on 11th April 2016 and the staff was very friendly. Only thing we wasn‚??t aware when we booked was that we had to pay City Tax on top of our booking which was around 72 cent for every night so it wasn‚??t too bad. The rooms were quite clean and they use to clean it every day and change towels etc. There was a safe in the room as well but you have to pay for it extra. We didn‚??t need it to be honest. It was little bit noisy for us at night but it wasn‚??t too bad. The bre... Read more

Hotel Medicis is well located in Barcelona nearby Sant Pau and Sacrada Familia. Rooms are rather small but comfortable with modern furniture and well equiped. Rates are reasonable. Reception has friendly staff and the breakfast is good with fresh fruits, bread, meat, cheese and sweets. From the hotel you can visit all highlights of Barcelona by foot or by Metro and busses easily.

Location is awesome: Near the metro (San Pau -Dos de Maig L5), also bus stop at the very corner. Ten to fifteen minutes and you are standing in front of Sagrada Familia; in my case i visited most of the attractions by food and here i am ...loving it and waiting for my next trip! Room (205) comfortable, cozy and really clean. Balcony. Bathroom is mid-sized but has everything needed and, most important hot water guaranteed. Staff: Friendly, really helpful and always with a smile. Big fan of them!... Read more

Room good equipment (refrigerator and electric kettle for preparing tea - I recommend not to use the water from the tap), In spite of the window at streetside it wasn't noisy, but I slept very bad because of the extremely hard bed. Location good for visit Sagrada Familia, Hospital St. Creu and the city, metro and bus neirby. The staff was very friendly and recommended us events, restaurants and museums. I would book this hotel once more when I could have a comfortable bed.

The hotel staff were very helpful with giving directions and maps around the city, they made it very easy for us to get the bus around town, pointing out which routes we should take. The room we stayed in was very small but clean. In Barcelona you are rarely in the room as there is so much to explore around the city so the size of the room was fine for us. Good location for lots of sightseeing and close transport links although quite far from Barri gothic and La Rambla, beach etc. about 20-30... Read more

Transport including metro and buses also sightseeing bus (green line stop 12). Whilst short stroll to Sagrada Familiia (advisable to book ahead on line) also very handy for the Hospital San Pau which has been recently renovated and well worth a visit. Not crowded there either! Great shower let down by thin towels and can be noisy internally with early risers. However would stay again

Very helpful on front desk. Gave us a map and told us best bus routes from outside hotel. No. 47 to Catalunya. Basic clean room, bathroom seemed brand new. Didn't care that we had no view as we only came back to sleep. Great base for our first visit to Barcelona.

Recently visited Hotel Medicis with a friend. Only stayed for 3 nights. Just a room to get some kip. Staff were friendly, receptionist used his personnel phone to call my friends phone after he'd lost it. The room was small but very clean. Roof top terrace was nice but not walking distance to the parts off Barcelona that we wanted to visit. Although there are things to do close by. Nice restaurants and shops but a sign saying "tourists, not welcome" with a rope to hang ourselves on a street wall... Read more

Perfect location. Lovely clean room with large balcony (room 602). Very helpful staff. Forgot our adapter and they gave us one for ‚?¨10 which we got back when we returned it. Nice and quiet but close enough to get where you like. Would definitely go again.

We came here for my wife's 30th birthday. It is a small hotel but enough for us to sleep here. It is far from the beach, but close to the Sagrada Familiar. A lot of bars and restaurants around. Close to metro. Staff are friendly.

We went there for a 4 nights city break. The hotel is small but very clean. The staff is so friendly and the breakfast is far better than a two-star hotel. the hotel is just five minutes walk from the Sagrada and there are lots of nice places around the hotel. You can access to the city centre by bus or by small taxi fare.

We stayed here for 3 nights- it is a compact hotel ten mins in a taxi from Barcelona centre, the rooms are small but immaculately clean, the bathroom has a power shower and hairdryer and our room 602 had its own private sun terrace- it is the only room that has this, all others have a small balcony! The staff are very professional and do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. The breakfast is a continental style buffet so no full English but we loved it- every day there was fresh bread, fruit... Read more

We stayed at Hotel Medicis in July 206, for a short/leisure trip to Barcelona. The hotel is located in a calm neighborhood, far from the crowded Las Ramblas, but with easy access to public transportation. La Sagrada Familia is a only about 15 minutes away and there are restaurants, supermarkets and coffee shops in the neighborhood. The room was impecably clean and the staff very friendly.

This is our 2nd visit to Medicis and we're still impressed with the value for money you get here. It's a great base to explore Barcelona from. The metro is close and from there you can get to anywhere in the City. Barcelona is a wonderful place we really love it here, there's so much to see and do. The free wifi in the hotel is fast and consistent. The room is clean and we love the location. Yes there is some road noise as the hotel is at a busy junction but we enjoyed sitting on our balcony ... Read more

Hotel Medicis is very basic but for what we paid could not really complain too much. Nice big bathroom twin beds. Small desk/ chair and kettle / fridge. Floor is tilled so noisy when people were moving around. Needs a bit of maintaining. We had room 501. Internal room , so no balcony but also no traffic noise. 10 min walk to metro , bus stop outside hotel We had breakfast once ‚?¨10 each for basics. There are dozens of cafes restaurants and supermarkets nearby so lots of choice.... Read more

This hotel is very basic. It's perfect if you are only staying there for a couple of nights and just need it to rest your head. Although the beds were incredibly hard! There was a safe in the room but we had to give reception ‚?¨25 deposit for the key. We also had a problem with ants. The receptionists were all very helpful, it was in a good location, 5 mins walk from the tube and a bus stop outside which takes you directly to Park Guell. Also close to the Segrada Familia. My partner and I stayed at the Hotel Medicis for 5 nights in early October and were very happy with our booking. We are relatively cheap travellers, so the basic necessities of the room suited us just fine. We had a double (twin beds pushed together) room, with tea/coffee making facilities on a small desk, a large mini fridge, a double wardrobe, and a TV. There was a safe in the wardrobe which we didn't use, and I believe the key had to be retrieved from reception. There was enough space for us ... Read more

Stayed for a week . Had room on 5th floor which meant our room was fairly quiet. The staff were friendly and very helpful. It is in a pleasant neighbohood with plenty of places to eat in the immediate area . Just round the corner from the Hospital Sant Pau, an Art Noveau gem and about 5 mins from the Sagrada Familia. Metro was nearby and the bustop just round the corner, so easy to explore the rest of the city. Would definately stay there again if visiting Barcelona

The hotel was in a great location, situated right next to a local bus line and just a couple blocks from the metro, but the hotel itself was a bit disappointing. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. As far as the accomodations though, the bed was exceedingly firm (it literally felt like we were sleeping on wooden planks), the walls were paper thin (we could hear EVERYTHING in the other rooms on our floor), and we could not turn off the heat! We even turned off the thermostat and h... Read more

Took L3 green metro to L5 blue metro and got off near our hotel. Walked rest of way to Hotel Medicis. Could not check in until 1430 so we left bags in storage. Came back later and checked in. The room safe is operated with a key. Had to leave a cash deposit of 25 Euro to get the key. The room was small, but clean. Had to open the door to the balcony to get good air circulation. My boyfriend and I recently stayed here for 4 nights on our trip to Barcelona. Although a little further out than some, it was a great base for our stay- we paid about £200 for the two of us. The room was a little small, and could be slightly noisy from early in the morning (road noise and people moving about in the corridor), however, this wasn't really a problem, as we were up and out for most of the day. The reception staff were super helpful, pointing us in the right direction, and provid... Read more
