Caledonian hotel has a great location near the La Ramblas, without the noise of the busy street. We stayed in a room which was very silent. The rooms with the balcony on the Grand Via was a bit noisy, but you are on the road then ! The breakfast was good with all the necessary things (we did not find butter for the toast, but it was a minor issue) and the helpful staff guided us with all the relevant informations. We reached the hotel by Metro from the airport and not at all a problem to sea... Read more

The good: location, working elevator, clean room, good breakfast, good WiFi signal. The bad: thin paper like walls and insulation, could hear from left, right and above, and our room was on the fifth floor next to elevator. Also, water pump was extremely noisy. The in between: small elevator, if you have tons of luggage, several trips. You can't check in prior to 2 pm, but luggage is stored for free. Nice little balcony, but noisy if your room is street side and keep it open, double windows do... Read more

Caledonian Hotel is situated close to Universitat and easy walking distance of Placa Catalunya / La Rambla and is in a great location. Reception staff were friendly and check in was easy and efficient. Had a double room at the back of the hotel so no road noise to report. The rooms are not well soundproofed so any noise in the corridor or adjoining room could be heard. The bed was comfortable but the pillow on each bed was thin and not very practical, we asked for additional pillows and were g... Read more

Caledonian Hotel is located about 5 minutes to metro station Diagonal and 15 minutes to Catalunya Plaza. The hotel is really good. I reserved single room, breakfast included. The breakfast was very good. The room was clean and comfortable, but very small. If you travel alone, I recommend to book double room anyway.

Lovely, modern, clean hotel in great location for tourism. Easy walking to Metro stations and to Catalunya square. We had a huge, comfortable room on the sixth floor (608) with a very large patio/balcony that was great to relax on after a busy day touring. Bed, bathroom, wifi were all great. We arrived off a cruise in the early morning and there is no check in before 2pm. However they cheerfully locked up our cases so we were able to start sight-seeing immediately. There is a safe in the ro... Read more

Great hotel, clean rooms. The workers are very kind and welcoming, always assist and help with any issue. Great value for you money. The hotel is in a central location, only ten minutes walk from Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas. Highly recommanded.

We (2 adults and 5m baby) stayed at the hotel for 5 nights. The hotel's location is superb! It's approx. 10 min from plaza Catalunya and Rambles and 20 min. from the airport's shuttle (all walking times). The room was clean, spacious and though it's situated right on a main road and under us there was a busy restaurant, it was very very quiet! The hotel provided us a baby crib and there was enough space for the 3 of us and our luggage. The breakfast buffet was fresh and offered a variety of fo... Read more

I have stayed at this hotel twice now; once in June 2016 and another in 2014. I had great experiences both times. The rooms are clean and quiet. We stayed near the rear of the hotel overlooking a lot of other apartments. Our friends stayed in the front looking out at the main street. They said their room was a little noisy but not bad. The front desk was helpful getting taxis. Good restaurants close by and the metro stop is a 3 block walk.

Spent 4 nights here, and only two nights were enjoyable unfortunately. Great things: 1. location, location, location. 2. Located next to a mini "supermarcat". 3. About 2 blocks from Metro Universitat stop. And easily accessible. Bad things: 1. Room we were given was a large room with a large balcony. (Actually the room was nice, although we requested a room with 2 twins, and were abruptly turn away by one of the male receptionists and were told that we booked it that way). Basically, sorry, b... We arrive after a long flight to find only one staff member checking people in there was a que of maybe 6 different groups it was honestly the slowest check in to a hotel I've ever experienced! . We was woken up every single day by reception ringing between 9:30-10 to ask when the cleaner is able to enter the room , by the last night I disconnected the phone . Extremely basic 100% better value elsewhere !

Ideally positioned for visiting Barcelona, spent 3 nights and we saw a lot of Barcelona, excellent location and price. Walking distance to main areas with good restaurants and cafes nearby. Would definately stay here again.

Disappointed with the rooms and service. The rooms were small and cheap 2.5 star. Not a good location if going on tours had to Get taxi every time you go out. Can't recommend this hotel , we were booked in By our travel agent unfortunately .

Excellent hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Only two blocks away from Place de Universitat for metro and bus stops to and from airport. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The hotel was great, looks even better than in photos. Loved everything about it, rooms are nice, really clean and spacious. Ours was overlooking the street, which was great. Staff is nice and helpful, they speak English well. Breakfast was great, loved the local deserts they served. Hotel's location is superb, as it is located near the city centre (8 mins walk) and it is also near all the main sights, even if you choose to go by foot (as we did).

We were quite disappointed in the hotel considering the price, location was the best thing about it. The bed was rock hard, pillows so bad we asked for more and we received a cushion. No facilities for making tea or coffee, for drinking out of they give you a couple of plastic disposable cups (one had a crack so couldn't be used), breakfast was included, very average if not on the poor side. The hotel front desk staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, we had to keep asking questions as there w... Read more

Stayed for 4 nights in September 2016 as a solo traveller. The location isn't bad and a 5-10 minute walk to nearest metro stop. There are plenty of supermarkets and cafes nearby. The single rooms are internal to the building - no window facing outside. You do have a window out onto an internal space which is dark and gloomy, so not much use. The room has a single bed and is one of the smallest rooms I've stayed in - you had to clamber 'over' the bed to get to the other side of it. However, on... Read more

For a 3* it sucks terribly. Poor sleeping comfort, no self-service kettle in the room, no drinking water, have to pay extra to use the room safe deposit, poor breakfast options, lousy air conditioning. Only good points were - the room at the back was very quiet overlooking a quaint courtyard. And the location is quite convenient to access Placa Catalunya and the start of Las Ramblas. I'll avoid this next time.

Seriously, keep looking for accommodation in Barcelona, there are 100 better places than this closer to la rambles, and I bet the staff would be 10 times more helpful and polite! We unfortunately stayed here for 4 nights in September 2016, I had booked a double room with terrace, and paid for it mind you, only to arrive and be given a room on the first floor the size of a shoe box with a tiny window, no terrace, no balcony, nothing! When I returned to the front desk to confirm my reservation ha... Read more

Sad hotel with unfriendly staff, uncomfortable beds, dated furniture and definately not a 3 star. The only plus was that it is clean. No breakfast and pretty far from Ramblas and Placa Catalunya. Would not recommend, there are definately better places to stay and this hotel is not value for money for what I paid I feel ripped off. Also WIFI in public areas only and very slow.
