From its early days, the hotel was integrated in the Barcelona Gran Via Avenue architecture as a new time enduring symbol.

And if in addition to this the food is dressed with the quality distinctive and the variety of Mediterranean food in general and the Catalonian one in particular, that, as well as nourishes, seduces and benefits, it is the best choice. Situated in the Avenida Palace lobby, bright and with a varied menu with which you can satisfy all palates and thought to reach all economic possibilities.

Spend some time at Bright Cafe out of the usual hours of lunch and dinner, sitting at one of the Gran Via Cafe tables, situated behind the Avenida Palace lobby big windows and enjoy that cafeteria in the Gran Via Cafe is also possible one of the most privileged stands in Barcelona centre.

It was a real shame the smell of drains was so bad as it spoiled the room, we had to try to remember to close the bathroom door every time we left the room and to leave the window open. The hotel was well located, the staff were helpful but I think the system of keys should be renewed and to be honest it doens't seem very safe to just be able to go in and say the room number and get the key automatically. Whilst we were there, there wasn't once the same receptionnist so it wasnt even as if they ... Read more

We stayed here for a 3 day city break. The location is perfect. We had breakfast included in our hotel price and it was good. The hotel needs updating . We didnt have wifi in our room, but they sorted that the next day.The room we had was very dark & dingy, with hardly any natural light through the windows. It wasnt a cheap hotel, but if you are not fussed about the room, then the location is the best.

After staying at this hotel in May 2015, I stayed there again in May 2016 and it was just as nice as it was the first time. The staff is very friendly, the hotel is well appointed and well maintained, and the location is excellent.

The hotel is extremely well-located, a 2-minute walk from the very busy Catalunya Plaza (tourist transportation, metro stop, taxis, myriad shops and restaurants), the "top" of Las Ramblas, and close to all the elegant shops on Passeig de Gracia. Happily, our room was ready for our early morning check-in which was quick and easy, the reception staff was welcoming and helpful. Our room was at the front of the hotel, sunny and bright with a large, lovely and immaculate marble bath. We often had e... Read more

The hotel is located in central Barcelona. We stayed there 3 nights and enjoyed the nearby sites. The staff all spoke very good English and were very helpful. I had my wallet stolen and they were extremely helpful negotiating the Spanish phone system in my attempts to contact my credit card companies. I was on international calls for about an hour and they were kind enough to wave all the charges. The included breakfast was quite good. It was varied enough to satisfy many travelers from dif... Excellent and would recommend anyone staying there. The location is perfect and the staff really went out of their way to accommodate us. The only criticism is that we arrived first thing in the in the morning and was very tied from the travelling and we were not allowed to get into the room until 4pm that afternoon. When we checked out we were told 12noon was the deadline and not further extension so had to wait around again until 4:30pm for our airport transit but they allowed us to us the po... Read more

I was very happy with our choice of this hotel. It is a 4-star hotel but very nice. We actually upgraded to a junior suite and our adult children had a connecting room so it was actually a wonderful 2-BR suite. They were kind enough to give us the room that was ready (jr suite) upon our morning arrival because we hadn't slept all night. It is the perfect location...just a few blocks from Las Ramblas but near many restaurants. It didn't look that dated to me....look you aren't paying for a Ri... Read more

This is a great place to stay for a bit of old world charm, great location with a roof top pool and bar. Rooms are roomy with everything you need and the value for Money is quite good. we arrived early as a party of 4 with two rooms booked and they managed to get our rooms ready quite quickly which is always nice. We would definitely stay again.

Very good location, close to Las Ramblas and the shops of Paseo de Gracia. Excelent service mainly at the front desk but the bedrooms have to be renowed, they already did it on the bathrooms. Noisy and old type of air conditioning

This was the first of four locations where we stayed. We were on convention and centrality was very important. We were in the middle of all the action, the location was great. The lobby is classical and ornamented of an age gone by showing the legacy of Spanish history, but the rooms are modern, most especially the bathrooms are great! Clean and innovative, loved this place. Reception staff kind and helpful. They only have one key per room. Because it is the old school keys. There was a gy... Read more

There for 4 days in June. Beautiful old hotel, but nicely up to date and stylish. Location is great. Right at the top of Las Ramblas - a walk to the water is probably 25 minutes, but glorious on a warm evening. Tapas on the corner were as good as any we had in the city. 4 blocks from a laundromat. 2 blocks from a huge department store. Taxis always available outside. Rooftop pool area look 360 degrees around the city.

Great hotel at a great price. The rooms were plenty spacious enough for the two of us. Reception staff were very courteous and excellent English. Good location just 5 mins from las ramblas roof top pool was more than adequate for a cool down at the end of a long day. Have often stayed in much more expensive hotels and not enjoyed them half as much. Comfy beds and decent air con.

My husband and I stayed there 2 nights pre-cruise in July. Our luggage had been lost by the airlines on our way over and we were at a loss for exactly who to deal with to retrieved our belongings. We purchased through AA, but British Airways was the service provider. The clerks at the front desk provided us with the unlimited use of a house phone and a office area to make the calls. The hotel room was spacious for Europe and very clean. We took all of our meals in the hotel due to not havin... Read more

The hotel is very nice. The attention and breakfast is very good and the location is excellent. The room was wide and comfortable but it was a little bit dark (second floor) and smelt humidity. The swimming pool is great and has a gorgeous view of the city! .

Just spent six nights at this fine hotel in the Heart of Barcelona. From check in to check out everything was perfect. After an overnight flight from Atlanta I arrived at the hotel around 11:00 a.m. Even though check in is at 3 p.m. for most hotels the wonderful staff had a room for me by noon. Everything in my room worked perfect. The bath was equipped with two shower heads (a standard type plus an overhead fixture). The water temperature was easily adjusted and the water pressure was excelle... Read more

Fashioned charm. Perfect situation in downtown near a metro station. Good breakfast. Terrace on the roof, nice place to have a drink and resting in the sun. But no really a swimming pool but rather a (very?) large spa.

this is a grand old hotel with an amazing staircase entrance, we enjoyed our stay, newly furnished bathrooms & beds very comfortable. The staff including the doorman in his top hat & tails took you back to a bygone era. It's a good location short walk to hop on/of bus & plenty of shops etc near la Rambla expect to pay 30E max to the airport. The roof top pool was a little small, but a nice view can be seen

Avenida Palace has a great central location and the amenities we appreciate. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, but the reason for my excellent rating is the bathroom. Unlike most hotels, this bathroom has a place for your personal belongings. I need space for toothbrushes and paste, cosmetics, contact lens solution, and travel kits, and this bathroom provides those spaces. In addition, it had an excellent shower and two sinks. Three cheers!

I booked a twin bedded room in the Avenida Palace . The situation is perfect , but the check in was quite disappointing ! When we arrived in the evening , the check in did not reflect a 4 stars service . While we were busy with our check in , the lady who took care of us , cannot avoid helping by the same time all the guest arriving at the reception => she needed double time to manage our check in . In addition to that , after more than 10 min at the reception , she finally informed us ,that ... Read more

The Building outside and specially inside ist wonderful. We had a Junior-Suite with a big renovated bathroom, very nice. The rooms are a little bit dark. The breakfast ist very good. The view on the roof is sanationell and the Hotel ist in the middle of the town. We liked to stay there and the price of the rooms are cheap for us from Switzerland. If we come back to Barcelona, we would choose this Hotel again.

Top hotel in a great location. Roof top pool bar - views were breathtaking. All the staff were lovely throughout our stay, house keeping staff cleaned our room daily, the rooms were spotless. We would certainly return to this hotel if we returned to Barcelona in the future. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is my third visit to this hotel in 3 years. The standard is high. The rooms are clean and useful. The reception personal are kind and helpful. Also the waitress are ok in the breakfast area. They have some things to improve from my point of view. The lifts are not enough when the hotel is fully booked. I was in the 9th floor and I wait a bit too much time for a lift often during my stay. The breakfast choice was better in the last years. I found a little bit less quality and choice this yea... Read more

You can't beat the location of this hotel if you're in Barcelona for sight-seeing. Less than 5 mins from the top La Ramblas and if you don't mind walking you can even walk to Park Guell. The hotel itself if more classically themed than contemporary with lots of lavish decorating. We found the room we had to be large and comfortable with the biggest bed you've ever seen (although a little hard!) The bath room was large with two sinks and a lovely big walk in shower.
