After reading some of the reviews was a little apprehensive of staying here but I should no not to believe everything you read. On arriving did have to wait for the room but nothing major is it room did smell musty but nothing that a good blow through with the windows open didn't cure. Maid was in 5 times during the 12 days we were there and did a fantastic job. After having had a couple of holidays in Caleta this was the first time we have stayed at the Castillo Beach and I am very glad we did. We stayed in the Vista section and had a lovely apartment with a nice little outside area. The apartment was cleaned every other day which you can not fault. As per some other reviews have said the bed was a little on the hard side for me but when you wake to beautiful blue skies I'm sure it's something you can cope with. Go to the Fuerteventura Beach Club or Elite Club instead. ALL of the areas in this complex have high fences and automatically locking gates. Seems good?..... WRONG. The magnetic cards they give you DO NOT WORK !! Forcing you into a VERY long walk to Reception and back (closes at midnight, and any later than that you're screwed). Staff are NO help whatsoever, they just give you a new card because they're fed up with complaints about the locks, This hotel is failing fast and will only get worse. S... Read more

I arrived in the first week of May with friends for a week in a 2 bed 2 bath bungalow which had been exchanged using Interval International. First impressions were not great - the bungalow was not clean at all and in a "secure" compound with many of the gates wedged open with large rocks. We could soon see why as the key cards took forever to open the gates. The curtains did not meet and didn't block out light and I gave up trying to put the parasol on the patio up when it tried to kill me. It w... Read more

We travelled in March and the weather was great. The hotel, although cheap and cheerful was quite good. The bar and dining room were always clean and the service could not be faulted. We went 'all inclusive', the food was ok but not brilliant, but for the money was acceptable. Our accommodation, although basic was clean and quite comfortable. The town is about a 10 - 15 minute walk and is very pleasant with a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars. We would walk to town and get a taxi bac... Read more

We stayed there in May 2016. In general it was good for the price we paid. We booked it as self catering, but we're planning to upgrade to all inclusive if we like the food. The restaurant was just awful - very small choice , food was undercooked and a very low quality. Please note if you pay for your dinner buffet - no drinks are included, just the water. They even tried to charge us for the juice drink made from the powder. The restaurant staff was not very helpful and even rude. On another ha... Read more

Last minute holiday and very cheap. Bungalows were a little dated but very clean and the cleaning staff were fabulous, towels could have been changed daily if needed. Bed was a little hard and the sofa was very uncomfortable but it was a bargain. We were self catering and the nearest supermarket was only a ten minute walk down the hill. We visited in January this year for a week away before going back to work. I think we were the only people there! So quiet we cooked most nights in our adorable bungalow. Had everything you would need, except English channels. We were in a quiet area. Loved it I think it was vistas we stayed. We walked everywhere, even over to the airport and there are some awesome shops for a bargain! We usually hire scooters but they were just to expensive here so gave it a miss this time. The kitchen contained everything needed for a self-catering stay, however the oven did not work, but to be fair I didn't report it so cant comment on whether the reception would have sorted it. We stayed at the Castillo Beach which is a large open complex of low rise apartments for 7 nights. It was a cheap enough deal and was well out of the way, so it was very quiet which is exactly what we wanted, although the nearby 'El Perro Loco' bar did quite a noisy kareoke night one evening. Some of the sprawling complex appears to have been sold off to a developer as the bungalows are being refurbished- we had opportunity to see the work first hand as most of the units around us were gutted- ... Not a luxurious experience but the place has a lot to offer. We stayed two people in a bungalow and it was quite nice. Great pool and cute bungalows. The fan in our bedroom wasn't enough for the heat but it was possible to rent table fans at the reception (15 euro for 1 week plus a 20 euro deposit you get back) which did the trick. The all inclusive pool was a bit dated but the area was very clean and plenty of sun beds. Breakfast was very good, lunch was ok, dinner was "interesti... Read more

I have to say, after reading a few reviews on here, I was slightly worried as to what I was going to. I needn't have worried, we had an amazing time. There was myself, my friend and my 5 children, 18, 15, 11, 8 and 2 staying in bungalows next door to each other in the moon area of the complex. Not one of us have any complaints at all. The pool was lovely, cleaned every morning. The apartments were cleaned(by lovely cleaning ladies if you take time to speak to them) every other day with new beddi... Read more

My daughter (28) and I have just returned form Castillo Beach bungalows, Park area. I would agree with most people's comments. Our bungalow was ok for the money paid, but I would have liked a late checkout as our flight wasn't until 9pm. You could leave your luggage in the Reception Area which we did, but being able to keep your room would have been better. Also on the negative side as far as I am aware there was no aircon in the bungalow so I am glad that we didn't book it in the summer months.... Read more

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks break from the Castillo beach. Having read the reviews it does not give a positive outlook on this complex. We had no complaints about our bungalow . We stayed in lake no 67. As far as I was concerned we got far more than what we paid for . The Bungalow was fully equipped for self catering. It was cleaned 3 times in the week and the towels were changed . The resort town caters very well for the tourist . It did not seem overly crowded just nice. T... Read more

Stayed here for a week with a friend at the end of October. Arrived at midday and our room wasn't ready but we were able to leave our cases behind reception desk so wasn't too bad. When we got our keys (in the 'Park' part of the massive complex) we were given a map which was a nightmare to follow, like other people have said, thank goodness we arrived during the day as it's near impossible to find your way around in the dark! The apartments themselves were clean and basic (only a micro & hob, no... Read more

There is much confusion over names of hotels/apartments in Caleta with virtually everything having the same name. We were led to believe this was part of the Barcelo complex - we couldn't have been more wrong! It was dreadful. Like something out of the 1950's. Imagine a caravan park with club house selling cheap drinks and amateur entertainers and you are not far out. Child size single beds, a plastic shower hose, 2 usable power points in the whole bungalow, building works all around - startin... Read more

Adequate price for the quality. Good location, close to the airport and 15-20 walking distance to the shops and public beach. Close to the city centre. Clean rooms, little terrace, quit place. Recommended!

We were staying in the park area which seems to be the busiest as this is where the a/l bar is.All you can smell all day is dirty chip pan oil. But the pool area is clean. Our bungalow was very tired and dated and it didn't look the cleanest. The beds were so uncomfortable they had plastic protectors on them which I was to frightened to look at the mattress. There is a supermarket a 10 minutes walk down the hill which there is also bars and restaurants do not eat or drink in any off these as the... Read more

We knew where we were going it was a cheap week in the sun. The apartments are very dated and need a good clean and up dated, we had no towels for 2 days had yo use a hand towel. The whole complex needs a good clean and a lick of paint . Love the resort and will be going back, maybe not to these apartments

Arrived on Nov. 11th..sent to our bungalow and on first impressions looked ok .Then we took a closer look ..both single beds were like 1950s hospital beds ..dirty mattresses..worn sheets and blankets ..dirty mouldy walls that stank of mustiness..the toilet door wouldn't shut ..the windows were soaking with condensation ..the shower was filthy..dark brown water to bath and shower in ..light fitting exploded when I turned it on and the kitchen units were falling to bits ..and then the noise ...the... I've stayed at this resort several times over the past few years. Great for the price, very reasonable but clean. We had a cleaner in 3 times over a week with fresh towels etc. Staff at the Zanzibar were lovely and very friendly and reception staff helpful too. The only thing I could complain about was the standard of the beds, a few lumps, bumps and springs sticking through, but if you're looking for a cheap base to stay at in Feurteventura I would recommend the beach club.

Couldn't complain about anything with this accommodation. Very clean everything you need for a self catering holiday. Very accommodating staff. We had a problem with the terrace door and the handyman was there before I got back from reception. Ideally located

Just returned from Castillo beach after 12 day break. This was a return stay here. No complaints what so ever. You get what you pay for, if you want 5 star go down the hill to Barcelo and pay their prices. . Some people have a natural ability to hunt around for fault. Our bungalow was clean, comfortable and excellently equipped with everything you need. Microwave, oven, iron, kettle etc. Towels and bedding were changed. If you want a hassle free cheap break this is recommended. Pool areas clean a... Read more

This was a four night break arranged through Love holidays just to recharge batteries before winter. We arrived at the hotel earlier than expected after a quick flight and were immediately given our all inclusive wristbands so we could go to the restaurant for some food . Our room was ready after that and we were pleased to find that our "room" was actually a small semi-detached bungalow with fully fitted kitchen, separate lounge, double bedroom and modern bathroom with a large shower plus a ... I was dreading this holiday as hubby had booked something with awful reviews... well what a surprise! The bungalow had a clean new kitchen. Very well equiped, had everything you expect and need plus more!!! The bathroom was fine, as was the bedroom. Mattress was hard, but this is cheap as chips! We were amazed at the service and a maid came in three times during our stay of just one week and tidied and cleaned the floors and bathroom, completely unexpected! Pool area was clean and tidy and looke... Read more

We've stayed in lots of places in Caleta over the years including the Caleta Dorada VIP Villas. To be honest, after booking the Castillo Beach Bungalows then reading the recent reviews I was expecting the worst!!!! I was pleasantly surprised. On arrival and departure the reception staff were first class. Other staff within the complex were friendly and helpful too. We stayed for a week and the maids replaced towels, cleaned and freshened the bungalow 3 or 4 times. All in all, the Bungalows ... Read more

I too would like to praise the appartments , staff and the area . For the price you pay you cannot beat it . We stayed (wife and I) for 2 weeks from Nov 9th and loved it . We were in the Vistas area of the complex which had been refurbished . There is a lot of work going on in parts of the complex but ask the reception staff and they will help (couple moved with no fuss when we were there) . Enjoy the fact you are on holiday , chill out and go with the flow ! Chaplins and Halfway House for Bingo... Read more

This was our second trip this year and we are already planning to return. We particularly enjoy the friendly and helpful staff, whether at reception, the Miramar, the tropical bar or the cleaning ladies. I would agree that the mattresses could be better, at least in the Park complex, and that the baths could do with replacement. However, these are really minor irritations compared with all the good points like well equipped and roomy villas, plenty of pool deck space, the staff, choice and qual... Read more

Honestly have stayed here before but can't say I will again. How can something be self catering without an oven or a toaster? Not an iron in sight asked reception and that's not included either. If they have a spare one I might get one? What. Never did get it anyway. Towels are like paper and smell. Yes its cheap but there is other accom nearby about £20/a week more and are far better. Its a long walk to town center but I knew that. But thelocal bars apart from Zanzibar are all English units in... Read more
