Stayed there for two nights om a business trip. Booked at room on the top floor, with marina wiev. The hotel are generally some noisy - you can hear the adjacent room and there is no carpet on the floor on the hallway - that definetely adds to the noise level. Nice pool and fitness area. Pretty good breakfast but when you arrice when the breakfastrestaurant is busy the noise level is terrible. We just mowed to the outside terrace and it was OK.

Very nice , very clean superbly located hotel , great for couples Wouldn't recommend the hotel or location (Alicante) for families or groups of guys There just isn't enough to do , but fine for couples We stayed on the 'Level' category and it was excellent One criticism is the exclusive sun bed area is too smal and cramped Great service , people very friendly .....Zoe deserves special mention she was brilliant with us On the 'Level' the rooms have been renovated to vey high standard Nice

This hotel is finished and maintained to a very high standard with very friendly and helpful staff. It is located right beside the beach and just across the street from the main shopping and socializing areas of the town, there is no other hotel in Alicante that is so ideally located. The breakfast is really excellent with a very good selection of produce including a wide range of options that would appeal to the northern European guest as well as all the more usual Spanish favourites.

Do not stay in the standard rooms, ul be very disappointed, its a closed in dark room with no proper view or light. We upgraded luckily to a harbour view that was one of the new rooms on level 5. Air con wasnt very good at all, first night it didnt work at all, had to phone up next day to get a guy to fix it, wasting few hours, still couldnt feel it, did not go lower than 19/20. The hallway air con however was blasting, so I think they are just cutting back on the rooms. The breakfast was great,... Read more

We managed to escape Parent duties for 4 days, and looked for a perfect quick hot escape as a couple. So Alicante was an ideal destination. It is only about 20mins in a cab from the airport and you are straight into the town. And it is a fab town. Much better than we expected with historic areas, a marina and beach. So plenty to explore at night, and lots of chill time during the day. We treated ourselves to a stay at the Melia as the location looked ideal and the sound of The Level was what we ... Read more

We stayed for 3 nights on a girls break and had a fantastic time. I thought the hotel was excellent value for money, rooms were very clean, breakfast was amazing! Alicante is a beautiful seaside town and this hotel could not be in a better location. If you are visiting Alicante and want a central base, right on the beach and marina, then this hotel is a must. Alicante has so much to offer at very reasonable prices compared to other Spanish mini break destinations. I wouldn't hesitate in recommen... Read more

My husband and I just returned from a fantastic weekend at Melia Alicante! It was our wedding anniversary so we decided to splurge and booked "The Level". No regrets, they took great care of us and the lounge with free drinks and snacks was a great bonus. Breakfast was great with lots of options and you were able to get freshly made eggs if you wanted something else from what was offered. I visited Alicante for the first time and stayed in Melia Alicante. I had read reviews and most of them encouraged to book the LEVEL EXPERIENCE, which for a bit more cost is well worth it. Fantastic staff, very well looked after, private breakfast and sunbeds & pool and drinks and tapas free throughout the day. The only downside was the limited number of sunbeds and demand was greater than supply. AIso the wifi connection is very weak in most parts of the hotel. But I would recommend it to anyo... Read more

We have stayed at this hotel before and will probably stay there again as the location is perfect for the beach, old town and the marina. We are getting older and less active so this suits us very well, our latest visit was for 4 nights at the beginning of June. We splashed out on a business suite which was very spacious with a splendid sea view from floor 5 on a large balcony. The bathroom was very large and boasted a multi function shower separate from the spa bath which also had a shower. The... Read more

We popped into Alicante for a night whilst we were travelling along the coast. We got an upgraded Premium room which is a must as the standard rooms are very tired now. Due to the holiday we couldn't secure a sea view room but had a very nice harbour view (these rooms can be a bit louder at times). The premium rooms look nice but are not very functional - this is a room Melia are rolling out across a few properties - the bathroom is of a particularly poor design - not something the hotel can ... We saw the Melia hotel on a cruise stop in Alicante as we left the port for a walking tour. Our tour guide told us about the annual Festival of Fire in June so we subsequently booked the hotel for that week. It is perfectly located for the beach and the old town. A trip for my birthday, from my lovely wife. The hotel is in a favourite spot of ours, just by the beach. It has views that are perfect for the beach lover and if you like looking at the marina. On the nights of the festival of Sant Juan the beach was packed until after the firework displays. We had 2 nights at "the level". Basically we have been very satisfied. We asked for a quiet room when we came, and we changed room. BUT the second night there was a wedding party just below the floor and the room. There was noise until 3 o'clock at night. Really really loud music. First stay at the Melia Alicante and will definitely be returning in the future, Had a wonderful 4 night break there last week and couldn't fault anything. My sea view room on the 4th floor was spacious, clean and met with my expectations. The Melia is a fantastic base with the beach and Marina only being minutes away. We stayed in Melia during the fiesta in June for six nights. Every other floor is renovated, every other is not (our 4th floor was not). The balconies of the junior suite were very small and some birds were living there (don't leave the door open...). The house keeping wasn't really working, towels were missing one day, the next day no glasses etc. The room was ok but old fashioned and the wifi sucked (being so slow that you could not really do much). Great location right on the habour/beach of Alicante. Everything within 10 min walk! A bit dated and expensive. Low capacity at pool area, that could only accomodate about 20% of hotel guests. It is right next to the beach - where you however will need to pay ‚?¨18 per two sunbeds/umbrella for the day. Service is on par. Wifi generally not that great in room. Useless when sitting at balcony

It's a nice hotel in a good location close to the main beach and restaurants. My main observation is that the room just wasn't clean. It was serviced every day and the bathroom was cleaned but the carpet in the bedroom wasn't vacuumed once in our weeks stay and there was dust and cobwebs all over the place. The balcony was filthy and covered in bird droppings. It didn't look as though it had been cleaned this year. Our stay was for a week at the end of June 2016.

Room was clean and comfortable, but furniture too crowded. Had to move glass table to open door to balcony. Floor lamp nice, but foot switch behind desk. Wonderful view of the sea and sound of the waves from my hotel room. The rooms facing the sea are well worth the additional price versus the ones facing the harbour. Breakfast is a luxurious feast and is spectacular. 2 slight negatives which had meant that I didn't give 5 rating: (1) too many sun-beds reserved for hours with nobody using them, despite notices telling people not to do this- it should be monitored. (2) the swimming pool only has metal steps to get in and out- not good for people with knee problems.

Stayed here for three nights with my good lady. Nice place, good location near the marina. We upgraded to a suite which is not really worth the cash as you don't use the space apart from maybe the balcony depending on what you want. The level is nice and when you compare having breakfast in there with the main hotel it is night and day. The breakfast at this hotel out with the level is embarrassing. Massive queues to get in and they give you the smallest plate you can ever imagine. The lev... Read more

Stayed at this hotel two years ago ,on booking for return, asked if possible to get same room as the last time we were there. On arrival we were charged extra 200 Euro and told the room had been upgraded.this was untrue as when we got to room it had not changed since we were there two years ago, as even the chairs had the same damage on that they had previously .when we pointed this out, they were not interested .

Not the best as we had a wall at the side . We also didn't get any sun at all , although that actually was a good thing as it was extremely hot when we were there and it was nice to cool off on the balcony .
