Sitting right next to city hall and the old Lotte Hotel and department store, the President Hotel is somewhat of a Seoul legend, yet a rather bland one reminiscent of the 1980s in South Korea. However when I recently stayed in the President for a few nights (on the 17th floor), I was in for a pleasant surprise at first. My room was modernly furnished, boasted exposed bricks style architecture and had free and fast wifi. But make no mistake: you get what you pay for! There is no gym or pool in th... Read more

This is not a luxury property but it has all you may need for a Seoul visit. I openly recommend it and these are the reasons: 1. Location: Unbeatable in the middle of Seoul, right next to Lotte Shopping Mall, in front of the main square, walking distance to the most lively pedestrian malls in the city and with restaurant, convenience stores and cafes all around it. That alone justifies booking it. Seoul is a big city. 2 Rooms: They are not super luxury but they are all perfectly adequate, nic... Read more

First of all, the staff are very friendly (as is usually the case in Korea). Also the location is hard to beat right on the door step of the main tourist Myeongdong area. For us, that was about as good as it got for us. Given the hotel shares a foyer with an office building, it gets quite busy there at times and doesn't feel like a hotel. Despite being on a non-smoking floor the room we were given smelt strongly of smoke (obviously the previous tenant). We complained and they were happy to mov... Read more

The location is very convenient, subways, Korean Air Airport bus stop the shopping district within very short walking distance. My room was small and in a very odd shape. The bathroom was rather small, but functional. The room was quite old and there wasn't enough outlets to plug in my iPhone and iPad. The wifi was relatively fast in comparison with the one in the hotels in the US. The breakfast was ok. I think I should have gone to the shopping center gourmet level for breakfast instead. ... The President hotel is very well located in central area and close to tourist part of the city such as the Palace. It is very good value for money, the building is a mix of commercial in some floors whilst others only for hotel. The reception and all hotel people are quite nice. Rooms, they just revamped some floors, are not so big but good size and very nice and tidy with a lot of TV channels. The Korean Limousine Bus stop just meters from hotel doorstep,it is extremely close to the tube and loads o... In the middle of downtown of Seoul you will see all historical places like castles, all entertaining places, and shop centers, it's the heart of the city, where you can find so many restaurants and coffee shops. Also, it is near to Lotte Outlets mall and it is very convenient to go where ever you want by the metro, thus because the station is located very close to the hotel, but the only problem that the hotel is of two sections. One old and the other is new . In order to be more comfortable book... Read more

Hotel is a great location. Overlooks Seoul Plaza. Next door to Lotte for meals and Myongdong for shopping. Room size was large. Furniture is old, worn, and cracked. Really need to replace. Free wifi was good. Lobby and elevator give good impression. Would stay again based on price and location.
