We had 35 people in for a sales meeting in early May. The hotel is far from the main city area. Meeting facilities were adequate, but the hotel is showing its age. I wasn't impressed with the area. The nearby beach was a bit littered, but many surfers each day. I can't say the waves warranted them, but they tried. They did have a nice boardwalk that hugged the rocks south of the hotel. Look for the Olle hiking trails that are scattered around the island. Weather was a bit cold still and mostly o... Read more

I am currently at The Hyatt Regency in Jeju and I could not be more disappointed. We checked n last night. Nobody helped us with our bags and showed us our room. When we got to our room, we could not believe how old everything was. The bathroom needs a major update. There is caulking all around the tub and shower stall. When I took a shower this morning, there was water everywhere. My husband and son decided to use the tub instead of the shower because of this. The stall does not even ha... Read more

This Hotel was obviously one of the first to be built in that spot - it has the top location directly at the cliffs and with direct access to one of the nicest beaches in jeju - the sand is not as fine and white as on other beaches but it is the least "contaminated" by tourism with great nature (cliffs) behind it and nice waves to do surfing - its wide with lots of space for everyone - from the hotel there is direct access to the area of the beach motst tourists (coming from the other end) don't... Overall experience is alright. All the other staff were helpful besides the check in staff giving wrong info about (1) Volcano show at Lotte Hotel Seogwipo-si starting at 9,30pm when it actually starts at 8.30pm. Lucky i went to double check otherwise my family would have missed the show. (2) they told me that the Duty Free shops have moved to the Lotte Hotel in the city, where in fact the shops were still there at Lotte in Seogwipo-si.

I am a Korean American currently living in Korea but my views are those of one who's traveled in the States. The overall condition of the hotel is fair, and clean. The staff is very friendly and tries their best to accommodate your needs. The lobby looks beautiful with a large indoor goldfish pond, however due to this it is slightly humid within the hotel itself. Not only that, the rooms felt a bit humid when first entering, though with balcony doors open and the AC on it was good. The condition... Read more

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Grand Hyatt and did not find the hotel as poor as some of the other reviewers. We were part of a tour group which often results in poorer rooms and service but we didn't have any concerns about our room which we found very acceptable with a good view from the verandah. Breakfast buffet was acceptable with a good range of food choices though the breakfast room was quite crowded. A small group of us did have a drink in the bar on each night of our stay. We fo... Only a one night stay due to travel requirements but had a great time there. Very comfortable room with lovely views. Clean, modern and well presented, the room had all the necessary requirements, however, did lack the provision of an iron and ironing board - you need to call housekeeping for these to be supplied. Handy location with a short walk to attractions such as the Teddy Bear Museum, Ripley's Believe It Or Not and K-Pop Museum.

I'm sure when this hotel was built 30 years ago, it was magnificent. But now, it shows its age a bit. The decor is a bit 80's and would need a good refresh. The service was excellent and everybody was friendly and extremely helpful. It is a bit secluded and you are basically trapped there. The closest coffee shops are a 15-minute walk away (uphill) and the restaurant strip is 25-minutes away (still uphill). You pretty much have to take a taxi to go anywhere. Because the hotel knows this, ... Read more

My friend and I visited Jeju Island for the holidays and stayed at this hotel and I'm quite surely it was a memorable stay of our trip! This hotel is located in JungMun area which takes an hour from the airport by a car. To go to the hotel, you can either rent a car at the airport or take an airport shuttle bus, #600 at Gate 5. It only costs you about USD 4 per one way and it runs every 10-15 mins by 10:00 P.M. To be honest, JungMun area is a bit isolated from the city center and difficult to m... Read more

Got scared by the comments before my stay here. However, i was more than delighted with my stay. The frontdesk is extremely helpful. All staff are polite. Wifi is excellent (fast even to my home country local sites). Air-condition is cool enough (it was too cold when we set it to 23C in the first night, we turn it to 25C after that). The resturant is good that we had dinner there for 2 nights (out of 4). You could call me lazy, but just don't want to travel out again with my tired parents. T... Read more

I think Hyatt Regency Jeju has a good location where it has direct access to the beach and also close proximity to everything Jungmung has to offer, in fact it's walking distance to couple of convenience store, restaurants, Teddy Bear museum, kpop museum, Believe it or not, chocolate land, etc. I like the atrium which is similar to my favorite Embassy Suites. Hyatt Regency on Jeju, located next to the Shill and Lotte, with prime ocean front property. Expectations high, but not met: 1. Swimming pool temperature. The water was not heated and was too cold for too many people. I personally checked the water temperature at the nearby Lotte, Shilla, and Kensington hotels - they all heated their pools to a very comfortable temperature. As a result, their swimming pools were populated and swim-up bar was busy. Your swim-up bar had no business. 2. Room was so... Read more

The hotel has been opened for so long, but the facilities seems like never been renovated and the staff service was awful. This is an exceptionally lovely location. The hotel has a bit of a retro futuristic style which I really love. And it's right on a beautiful beach that is famous for surfing. The hotel overlooks the ocean and the grounds are stunning. The spa is also lovely with Asian style sauna. The only problem is that there is little choice for food other than for Korean tourists. Breakfast is not included in the room and is pricey. And there is little choice outside the hotel for any food other than Korea... Read more

Our kids have grown up traveling extensively with us, staying at various levels of accommodations from Four Seasons and boutique hotels to bed and breakfasts and inns. General condition of the room is okay at best and in need of complete overhaul. Facilities in the bathroom look not only old (it looks so 1980's), but very inconvenient. It was a wonderful, relaxing stay at Hyatt Regency Jeju. We stayed at the executive floor (top floor) and had a room towards the sea/beach. The room as the hotel definitely was built years ago, but with a timeless architecture and vision in mind.
