Spent a couple of nights in The Peech before continuing on to The Greater Kruger National Park. Excellent hotel set in secure gardens in a leafy and quiet suburb of Johannesburg. Wonderful staff, good food and a comfortable bar in which to enjoy a drink before retiring. What more could you ask for?

The Peech is a wonderful boutique hotel for 2 reasons. The quality of the experience when staying at the Peech is outstanding. From the staff to the setting, from the bed to the breakfast the focus is on providing guests with a feeling of serenity and comfort. The Peech is an oasis of calm in the middle of Johannesburg. Our room was very spacious and had all the amenities one could want. Shopping is within walking distance. However the staff is more than happy to arrange transportation or even... Read more

Indeed, a boutique hotel. Super! But reception-staff are a different matter, also one waiter in particular. Read on. The upper-level suites are naturally not suitable for wheelchairs, but more important - not even attractive for people with back or knee problems, or those needing walking sticks. I am fit, but even five days and nights of going up and down steep metal steps was exhausting. The general layout and standard are very attractive. Quality of food excellent. We stayed for one night as a stopover before returning to Singapore. The set up of the hotel was different than we expected (more like flats/apartments than a hotel) although the grounds are pleasant and the reception area warming with a real fire. The room looked good with a large bathroom although the radiators were more style over substance so the room was cold at night and in the morning. The bed however was comfortable and staff switched on electric blankets at turn down. My main disapp... Read more

The hotel is in an upscale neighborhood and feels very safe. Many of the rooms surround an enclosed garden at the rear where you would not know you were in a big city. The food was excellent and the waiters expert. One evening I needed medical attention (I cut my scalp on a city tour!); the staff were very solicitous and the manager whistled up a very competent doctor in less than an hour.
