The price was good, the the hotel is quite tired. Needs a renovation. But, unfortunately they can not change the location of it. Beautiful view of city at night from the rooftop terrace. For dinner, security escorted us to a pizza joint where we ordered take-away and ran back to the hotel. Not a good part of town for a Muzungu. The local hotel staff say they get mugged as well. Don't take the train (Gautrain) to Sandton and then a taxi. Just take a taxi straight from the airport, it's cheaper.

Well I must say the view is good. If you got a higher room ofcourse. It is very business orientated though. Very spacious, however the room can do with some Touch of remodelling or interior decor. Its more like a boardroom in there than a homey feeling

Stayed here for a night while on business. Fortunately it was just 1 night. The room was adequate, but in desperate need of an update. My room had a bath with a shower over it, but it was useless as the shower head was the worst thing I've ever encountered. The restaurant served a buffet, but to honest I would rather have had a burger from from corner take away. The meat was bland and over cooked. Was terribly disappointed seeing as I usually enjoy Protea Hotels.

Nice hotel and staffs Clean and spacious rooms Great view of the city from the room as well as from the top of the hotel by the pool side The bar and gym were also looking awesome Pick n pay supermarket, restaurants (Spur, Debonnairs,...), shops (Puma, Woolworths,...) located down the street on the left some 10 minutes walk On the opposite direction, there is Park Station with lots of restaurants and shops again some 10mins walk But i didn't really like the city of Johhanesburg But still there... I last visited this hotel more than a decade ago and very little has changed. A grand new gate seals the hotel off from the mayhem that is downtown Johannesburg traffic. There are very few green areas in this hotel but what it lacks in outdoor space it makes up for with views over the city of gold. Sunsets from the 24th floor (sadly only accessible by 1 of the 4 lifts) are spectacular. The rooftop bar promised much but when we got there it happened to be closed (Mondays). It would have added a ... Read more

Visiting the Parktonian for a conference experience I was apprehensive of both the area and the facility. I needn't have been. Apart from the conference facilities which were excellent (and the WIFI worked), the leisure time spent on the top floor was exceptional. Views were amazing and the rooftop bar and swimming pool (although too cold to swim in May!) made it quite special. The room suites were large and my bathroom was recently redone with one of the best showers I have experienced in an ho... Read more

One of the worst internet conexion i've ever seen in a hotel. I've paid for 1 hour (3.5$ ) internet premiun conexion and I've not been able to skype (without video). The room is not a four star room, but anyway it's good enought. I can't understand how they can charge for this type of conexion, it's not a cheap hotel and the free conexion... it's just imposible to use whatsapp, email or whatever.. they should change this if they want to give a correct customer service.

For being an all suite hotel, it's quite spacious but that's it. Lounge area needs a tv, only tv in the bedroom Bedroom should have easy access to the bathroom There are lots of cupboards in the so called kitchenette but needs a little microwave at least Bathroom very outdated need modern bathtubs fitted, could do with separate shower as there is so much wasted space in this suite Shower head does not spray properly no control clearly it's quite old Amenities like tissue is scarce only give ... I really enjoyed my stay there. Rooms and the linen were very clean. I will recommend for any person to go there. The staff was friendly and they helped me with whatever I wanted. It's peaceful and stress relieving.

The 24 circular storey hotel, provide a perfect platform to view the rest of the city from the roof top. One can relax on the pool situated at the roof top and the bar is right up there too. The rooms are clean, spacious and well decorated. The restaurant has wide variety for tasty dishes. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel and looking forward to my next trip.

This is not in a safe area for tourists. This was not clear from reading the other reviews and it was a shock when we arrived. There is nowhere to safely go, no restaurants in the area except the one very dated restaurant in the hotel. The rooms themselves were big and clean and staff were lovely. But if you are a tourist, think twice before staying here.

On the 11 July 2016 05:39 I was coming out of the hotel in the morning on my way to work. As I walked out of the hotel door I slipped and fell down. There was I on the floor I didn't understand what was happening when I looked to my left I noticed that one of the staff members were busy mopping the floor was wet and there was no caution sign I walked back and asked to see the manager I explained what had happened he looked at me like I was crazy...when the driver asked the guy staff members why ... The hotel is situated closer to down town JHB opposite Johannesburg new Metro Offices and closer to strategic offices and institutions like Constitutional Court, theaters, universities, hospitals and gautrain station to name but a few. There are times wen their lift are a mess and you get terribly delayed but at times they are super. The rooms are spacious, they have a great team of staff. I love the rooms from 18 upwards as you get appreciate the beauty of Johannesburg from once centre. On floo... Read more

After having an amazing experience in Cape Town, I came back to Coburg for two days and expected to crash here. Ladies and Gents, this hotel isn't for the faint of heart. To get to the hotel you have to venture through one of the WORST sections of Joburg. Imagine I'm in my uber and the driver is telling me to stay away from the windows and is checking the locks. I get there around 8:30p.m. and it's not to bad on the ground floor. I check in and am taken up to my room. The room is a GREAT size, h... Read more

We stayed as a family on our way out of the Joburg (1 night stay) where we could visit the Aparthied museum the next day before our flight out. We chose because of affiliation with Marriott as well. We came in around 5 and left at 8. There are security doors. It is in the area that requires it, I think. We were on the 18th floor with a nice view. We had dinner and breakfast. We are vegetarian and with food allergies. the service was I think typical for South Africa (2+ hours for dinner)... Read more

We read lots of reviews indicating that the neighbor was dangerous. We don't know who these people were, but we didn't find the neighborhood dangerous at all. In fact, we walked the neighborhood in both the daylight and night time and found it perfectly safe. You do, however, have to be comfortable walking around black people. The room was large, the bathroom was was well stocked, and the hotel was quiet. The internet, however, was horrific. The wi-fi is slow and sometimes just not accessibl... Read more

I stayed here for about 8 nights in July. It is an all-suite hotel, and I was on the 18th floor. The neighbourhood is not a great one, but one feels safe inside the hotel. The suite had a separate lounge/kitchen area and a separate bathroom from the room. All were clean and reasonably maintained. The food was of a good standard. Since I spent 8 days here, by the time I left I was tired of the food. it's hotel food after all. i don't really have anything to complain about this hotel and have visi... Read more
