Some time back this was a fabulous boutique hotel - a team that was well-motivated and attentive, attention to detail, great accommodation, caring service and excellent cuisine. We used the hotel frequently to accommodate international colleagues and to hold meetings. Now regrettably the opposite is true and the lack of response from management/leadership to the negative reviews is a strong indicator of where the problem lies. I arrived after a horrific flight from Manchester and was desperate fr some sleep.The reception was brilliant; they understood my predicament and quickly got me into a lovely spacious room. When I awoke the dining room was my next target and again the service was excellent without being servile. The food was cooked to order and was absolutely wonderful. The fillet steak was to die for! Staff are very friendly. Rooms are spacious and nice. Room service food was pretty average though. Comfortable bed. Stayed here 3 times over a 6 month period. Nice views over Gillooys. Spa room has great views and very friendly staff

I was a week on business there. The following sounds incredible but we were a group of 20 and all had same or similar experiences. Two days there was no warm water to shower. The WIFI was not working or disconnected all the time. Breakfast is VERY simple. Water from the rain flooded the bathroom through the outer wall. The swimming pool was out of order. The safe in the room was not bolted and could simply be carried away. Incredible? Yes, but true.

I booked for a spa treatment for me and my husband as a treat thinking i am going to get 5 start treatment from 5 star luxury hotel, as it is advertised. I expected special treatment, since while booking the place was requesting 50% upfront payment, which is internationally unheard of at luxury hotel spas. I lived across the road from this hotel and stayed there for 7 nights whilst electrical work was done on my property. The security there is extremely poor, patio doors in many of the rooms do not lock properly and can be easily hooked out of their frame, I know this because I had to swap rooms 3 times due to faulty plumping in the bathrooms. Although the room was lovely and the staff friendly. I had no hot water in my room on all three days, in the mornings and the evenings. Having to request it and then being forced to wait for it to heat before you need to go into meetings is not on. Having to call the front desk to request hot water at a premium hotel such as yours at the price which was paid I feel it's unacceptable. Cold showers in Johannesburg mornings and evenings are not acceptable and really tarnished my stay at your hote... Read more

The hotel staff made our day truly special from the food, decor and exceptional service. We will definitely be telling others about it and will go back again and again. It is centrally located to most of Johannesburg's attractions
