Wonderful hotel with exceptionally efficient and friendly staff! Great breakfast and a lovely bar. My only gripe: its situated on a very nousy road. Idid not sleep at all the first night so asked to be moved to another room. Also the restaurant was closed on a Sunday evening and we were not informed - no room service. Otherwise a great stay!!

Just stayed at this place for 4 nights. The place is clean and service is good with friendly staff willing to suggest places to eat, sightseeing destinations etc. Foo is not so good as the restaurant menu is very limited. This could be improved upon. Otherwise a great hotel.

I've stayed with this hotel group for years and always been impressed with their standards of service and comfort ..... Until checking in at 3.00pm on a Sunday afternoon and being told that the kitchen was closed and there was no possibility of a snack, a drink or even a cappuccino! The receptionist simply waved her hand and suggested I try one of the many restaurants located nearby! Somewhat surprised, my hopes were raised when I saw a stark white enamel fridge standing in my room ... 'Aha - a... Read more

I was in Durban for a week on business, and Quarters was an ideal place to stay. The staff were very hospitable and friendly, willing to accommodate any requirements I had, and taking an interest in my trip. The breakfasts were delicious, and the terrace was a lovely place to have a drink in the evening. A very calm and relaxed place, and I would definitely stay again.

This hotel is just too quaint! The Victorian style architecture is really beautiful and the location is perfect as you are in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Florida Road, a very safe street, which is important in Durban. You can also walk easily to the beach front in perhaps 20 minutes. If you happen to get sick (as i unfortunately did) i can tell you that there are very good doctors nearby. I do really hope you don't have to use those facilities though!

The Location is very good, whilst on a busy intersection, the hotel room was very quiet. The room was spacious, well appointed, clean and very well serviced. The personnel at the front desk were very friendly as were the restaurant and bar staff. The Breakfast menu covered all of my favourites - especially Lola's breakfast.

Quarters Florida has been my hotel of choice for the past 8 years. I come to Durban 4times a year on business and it was once a beautifull boutique hotel with great service, gorgeous food and lovely rooms. Unfortunately, for the past year, it has been quite clear how they are consistently declining in standards across all service levels, to such an extent, that this month will be my final stay. There is no room service after 14:00 and you aren't even able to order a cup of cofffee or a basic s... Read more

The hotel is nice with a wonderful and accommodating staff. Everyone is kind and helpful and remembers your name from the first day. The rooms are okay and spacious. But, on the downside it is not on the beach (which may be a plus for some), it does not currently have a restaurant so there is only breakfast (no lunch, dinner or room service), the Internet is pretty horrible and there is no real lobby area, gym, pool, bar etc. But it is in a very safe part of town and there are restaurants, shops... I spent a week at the Quarters while on business. This hotel has the feel of a large B&B since it has limited service and is laid out like a collection of several homes with rooms available. It is centrally located and just a short uber or cab ride from the major attractions. Pluses are that the staff are very attentive and pleasant, the rooms are well-kept and comfortable. Average sized and well appointed. The bathroom in my room was a little cramped and lacked a tub, but the amenities were of ... Read more

Stayed for 3 nights. The hotel is made up of a little cluster of old-Durban Victorian (Edwardian?) houses that have been expertly combined into a hotel with a central courtyard for parking and access to rooms, restaurant and reception. Excellent breakfasts were included in my stay. Staff were solicitous and friendly. Room itself was comfortable and attractive. The hotel location was convenient - a short drive to beaches, easy access to highways to get in and out of town. Located on bustlin... Read more

I have been staying at the Quarters (initially in Avondale Rd but that has closed) Hotels since 2010 and it has always been a very pleasant experience. It is located close to Florida Rd so you can walk to go out and eat and down the road from the two stadiums, the beach, Suncoast Casino and major arteries in and out of town. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the bathrooms more than adequate and the breakfasts are fantastic. They have captured a French quarter style setup (which I presume i... Read more

Great location, if you don't want to be by the beach. Close to bars and safe enough to to walk to for a meal. Really helpful staff, nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms are large and good showers. At the moment they only serve breakfast, so you have to go out for dinner or they will order you a take away.

What a beautiful boutique hotel, small intimate and ideally situated for exploring the suburbs of Durban. Our room had the upper floor verandah which looked out over the busy road, the night time traffic was not an issue as we were so tired after exploring the city and surrounds that as soon as we put our heads on the lovely soft pillows we were in the land of nod. The room was spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly ensuring our stay i... Read more

Great little gem in Durban. Have stayed here twice (for Comrades). Staff are friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a limited selection (breakfast and dinner) but tasty and fresh. Safe and secure grounds and gated parking. Room was cold at night and early morning, no heating, but bed was fine. Bathroom was fine. Will be staying here again.

I stayed only one night and the Pub on the other side of the road had a party going on. So if you look for a peaceful sleep just ask for a room facing the patio. The washroom provided a rather irritating smell, but: There's the breakfast! Mouth watering. Outstanding. Not from this world. I had the healthy choice with avocados and porched eggs and that was just great. I'd always go there again. Just for the sake of the breakfast.

I stayed here for a night in October 2016 for work at around R2 700 for a single plus breakfast. I specifically chose this long-time favourite of mine, having stayed there a few times in the past, and needing to be close to the High Court in the CBD. Sadly, I am not quite sure what has happened to it in the meantime, perhaps it's the trek by business and leisure northward to Sandton-by-the-sea (ie Umhlanga); which is a great pity. It's still a comfortable and adequate place, with traces of lux... Read more

Stayed over for our anniversary .... wow staff made it really special....a heart made of rose petals on the centre of a sleigh bed and some yummies! The room was clean and so cosy ... just added to the romance. Bathroom super super clean. Love the balcony. Just perfect for watching the world go by and sipping on a glass of wine. Felt totally secluded and spoilt. Breakfast was good and service excellent.

Lovely looking rooms and hotel but will never be back. Although the staff are lovely, the rooms are smelly. The first room we had last night smelt like cats wee and was so small and dark that we asked to move this morning. And they moved us to a bigger room that was not smelling of urine but the sewerage smell from the bathroom wasn't covered up by the room spray and air con. The staff are so helpful and kind. What a pity the rooms are so dark and smelly. Second room has a view of the side of a ... Read more

Have been here in the past for a function and liked the look and feel, hence why deciding to stay on a business trip. Stayed in a great room on top floor. Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Great restaurants in the surrounds which are in walking distance like Mamma Luciana's. Fabulous Italian spot.

I arrived on Saturday afternoon tired from the week before and I really just wanted to sleep. I'm used to poor service from hotels even from some of the "best" but here I was welcomed so warmly. They explained that their kitchen is limited but they could make arrangements for me and bring it up to me or they could open up the restaurant for me which they did. It was beautiful and serene. My room also felt homely, the food was amazing and when I'd get back late, my lights were switched on. There... Read more
