The location is good but they lie about the internet. There is no internet in the rooms - despite what it says on their website. " Wifi in all the rooms"- NOPE only in the lobby and then it is slow. Also they have only one working elevator for It is right on the beach which is nice- great views and the rooms are a bit outdated but perfectly serviceable... but the misleading advertising just pushed me over the edge.

I have a bit of a mixed review. The hotel had some good points. The breakfast was really very good! Buffet breakfast with a lot of choices. Also the Clippers restaurant was good and the prices were very reasonable. It was nice not to have to go out to find dinner. The location is great, right on the beach and in walking distance to Ushaka and Moses Mabhida Stadium. The people mover bus also stops right there if you don't feel like walking. The hotel is an old hotel and could use some renov... Read more

The staff really try to assist but not to their full capacity. The rooms are not up to a good standard. The toilet in the room didn't flush and when we asked to change rooms they sent the security guard to come and fix it at 11 PM that night. We were two females, extremely scary. Even though it's like right across the beach, I wouldn't recommend it unless you really need accommodation or don't have a few extra Rands to spend.

The checking in time it's 14:00 and most of the people uses bus to come to Durban and they catch the nyt bus to get there in the morning.having to wait till 14:20 was exhausting and excitement killing

Neither do I have to say more about Tropiccana luxuries rooms? Even though the price was too high because of the on-season vacation during December, Tropiccana has best rooms and best unlimited breakfast with more enough space. Beach facing rooms are the best

I never had such a noisy night in my life. The room allocated was street facing with the loudest music and people ever! As if that was not enough at 1am someone started knocking at my door and only stopped when I shouted! As early as 5am the people downstairs where the loud music came from started clearing the bottles and another unbearable sound of bottles. That was my worst stay at that hotel ever and I do not think I will EVER book there again! !security is very invisible if it's ever ther!

Staff are really friendly and helpful. Quiet and peaceful at night, street and nightlife are not adjacent to the hotel. Daytime a step out the front door is onto the promenade and beach. Parking is available at adjacent parkade (may be R60 per day, depending on your booking conditions). Buffet breakfast is great.
