Originally has booked a single night here for the first night of our stay in Cape Town and stayed in one of their sea view suites. We had been here on a previous trip just for a drink in their wonderful veranda bar. The rooms are comfortable and staff here are fantastic, breakfast has a great selection and it's lovely to sit outside and watch the paragliders land in front of the hotel. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant but it did seem busy in the evenings and had an attractive menu. The... Read more

We (parents + 2 young couples) stayed 4 nights at the Winchester Mansions in July. Very friendly and helpful staff, relaxed ambience with 'oldfashioned' elegance, delicious breakfast, comfortable and clean rooms. Guest parking (75 rand per day) on the premises. Hotel is beautifully located at Sea Point where you can do a promenade. This was our third visit (previously Dec. 2008 and Dec. 2011) and we were pleased to see that this hotel is still very nice. This time we stayed in Modern Classic Roo... Read more

Always nice to come back to Winchester Mansions and see that they still have that "Winchester Mansions" touch and feeling of brilliant service and good atmosphere, always a good stay there. Very good value for money. A plus is the free transfer to Waterfront and to the ares around the hotel.

This hotel is across the road from the glorious ocean known as Table Bay of Cape Town and is located in the preppy waterfront area. V and A Mall is a 5 minute drive and table mountains is a 15 minute drive. The hotel had an old world feel to it but was very well maintained, it also had a touch of European feel. The room wad spacious and very clean. Every night they filled in a jug of cold water for us to drink complimented with lemon and lime cordial. During our stay there was a bit of build... Read more

We didn't realize what a great location WM has! On a beautiful waterfront promenade just minutes from the V & A waterfront. And it's a great hotel, with all the amenities, in a gracious beautiful building with an outstanding restaurant and bar. The hotel staff are warm & inviting and superb. There was a shuttle to the V & A waterfront and the concierge staff will arrange for anything!! We loved it!

My husband brought me here for a birthday treat and it worked out perfectly because last minute we also got tickers for a Stormers game and it happened to be the Cape Carnival. The hotel had a beautiful, classy old-world feel. We spent a lot of time in the room just enjoying the AC, TV, comfy bed and room service. The room service food was yummy. The best thing about our time was probably the breakfast. There was an Omelette bar where a lovely lady (with a great memory considering the line-up) c... Read more

Our room faced the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel has "Old World" charm and a history. A buffet breakfast was included in our tour package which provided us with a great selection of foods to start the day with. I especially liked the courtyard with it's beautiful flowers and fountain. Great views of the ocean from the bar and dining room plus some outside patio seating as well. The Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location and views.

We stayed here for 4 nights at the end of our wonderful South African holiday. From the moment we checked in, to the moment we left it was a wonderful experience, the check in staff even upgraded us to a balcony suite which was amazing. Cannot fault it in any way, if we ever return to Cape Town, we will definitely stay here again. A big thank you to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable.

With minor improvements - excellent tourist location. Constant follow up and supervision is necessary. sometimes due to pressure of work staff tend to relax this is very dangerous to a business like this. Every client is important and should be valued.

I expected a light snack when ordering chicken straps and nachos but was pleasantly surprised by the quality and quantity. This is still one of my favorite spots on the beach front, bar side balcony allows dogs... Service could improve. Dogs not allowed on restaurant balcony? So if they're full...they don't seem to care... Wouldn't let me sit and wait on the other balcony with my Chihuahua

From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable, with hotel staff going the extra mile to please. Well done! This really is the grande dame of Sea Point and we are so lucky that this hotel has been preserved in its original style. The charming courtyard is the venue for great jazz at the Sunday morning brunch. Remember to book!

What used to be a beautiful hotel 10 years ago with awesome memories of our previous stays, has turned into a severely neglected hotel in terms of facilities, cleanliness , overall service and atmosphere. Expect standard classic rooms to be substandard in terms of furnishing, sleep facilities and cleanliness. Bathroom lacked hot and cold tap indicators, visible mould in shower, only one chair to sit on in room which makes iin-room dining a challenge. My booking confirmed King size bed although o... My wife and I recently stayed here on our trip to Cape Town. The original plan was to stay one night, go to Hermanus, then stay another night. Well, our plans in Hermanus were cancelled, when I spoke with the front desk they arranged a room for us right away. The next day while walking in the park, my wife broke her ankle! Upon hearing this the hotel offered us a room and gave us a really good rate as well. The amenities were really good, my wife loved the spa, the location could not be better ... Read more

The beds were so big and comfy. Facilities are excellent and staff cannot do enough for you. There is a courtesy bus into the V&A which is frequent and accommodating. The views of the ocean are fantastic with the most amazing sunsets you can watch whilst having dinner on the terrace. Food is fantastic whether eating in the restaurant or bar area. It is the second time we have stayed here and we absolutely love it and would recommend a stay here.

This hotel is steeped in history but the rooms are to a great standard while still in keeping with the architecture. 30 mins walk to the waterfront but not expensive by taxi. Staff are extremely friendly and the drinks in the hotel bar are not expensive. Great restaurants on the road which is parallel (up the hill) with great food and good value for money. We were a party of four in two rooms - 304 and 324. Both these rooms were at the side and front of the hotel and had a veranda. Both rooms were very spacious with lounge areas separated from the sleeping areas. The cleanliness of the hotel and rooms was very high with attention paid to all areas. We couldn't fault the hotel at all. All the staff went out of their way to help and nothing was too much trouble.
