The Winchester is a historical landmark in Cape Town seaboard area. It is conveniently located on the (main) beach road - close to the beaches, CBD and Waterfront. The bustling Sea point promenade is literally across the road, perfect for early morning runs or lazy walks. The hotel bar , Harvey's, is a classy and popular sundowners spot to admire the setting sun across the Atlantic. Really enjoyed the breakfasts in the courtyard, and the hotel also had a great pool (which is important for coolin... Read more

We enjoyed four nights at The Winchester Mansions in September 2016. Our room was lovely and quiet. The restaurant delicious for both breakfast and dinner. The bar served great cocktails and the view from the front over the water just amazing. This hotel is located at Sea Point and is opposite a stop on the Hop-On / Hop-Off Tourist Bus, which made getting around very easy. They offer a complimentary shuttle to the V&A Waterfront and it took us about 30 minutes to walk back along the waterfront t... Read more

This place is really well located to travel around in Cape Town and area. It has a great bar in the front that looks out over the ocean. The restaurant is good and breakfast was excellent. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, our room had an ocean view and we could see the whales from our window. The staff is very friendly; we had a great time!

We were met at the airport by the charming and polite hotel driver who pointed out places and areas of interest on our way. The reception staff were warm, welcoming and efficient. Our room 324 on the top overlooking the front and side had a spacious bathroom which included twin basins and a separate shower. The bed room had a sittting area but the sloping ceilings were a little hazardous The decor could maybe have done with an uplift it was a bit dull for a sea facing room. Our breakfasts were... We regularly visit the Winchester when we stay in Cape Town and would always highly recommend it for the level of food and service in the casual dining and its amenities - it's always served us very well but they have surpassed themselves with Justin - we have only been here for a week and have had three different meals and each one has been exceptional. Fresh and beautifully presented - pub grub with a Michelin star!!!! Talent and Francis deserve their stars too!!

We stayed here for a week and it was brilliant! Great location with lovely views and very easy to get anyway in Cape Town. The rooms were a good size and well kept by the house keepers twice a day. All the staff were lovely and very willing to help at all times! We had dinner in the restaurant twice and both times the food were excellent and very good sized portions. The breakfast each morning was also great, lots of choice and very fresh. On Sunday the jazz brunch was excellent and had an am... Read more

The views are simply to die for, location location location. The whole stay is designed around making the guest feel so so special. We booked the Robben Island suite which was a wonderful luxurious place to relax/sleep after either using the hotel facilities or experiencing the joys of Cape Town during the day. We experienced all the offerings we could over a week and this was a massive thank you to so helpful and professional staff, Brian, Patrick, Shahid, Thalia and Bongo to name but a few. We... The hotel was first class. This is because of the great location, services and most of all - the staff. Nothing is too much trouble and everyone smiles and is pleased to see you at all times. We used the hotel shuttle to arrive and leave, this was quick and comfortable and our driver was happy to give us good tips of where to visit. We stayed 6 nights and were very impressed with the delicious breakfast buffet served every day, ranging from fresh omelette to scones with gooseberry jam, fresh fru... Read more

This hotel is steeped in history but the rooms are to a great standard while still in keeping with the architecture. 30 mins walk to the waterfront but not expensive by taxi. Staff are extremely friendly and the drinks in the hotel bar are not expensive. Great restaurants on the road which is parallel (up the hill) with great food and good value for money. The hop on hop off tourist bus stops outside the hotel and there is a free shuttle to the waterfront. Pool is a bit small but you won't ne... Read more

The beds were so big and comfy. Facilities are excellent and staff cannot do enough for you. There is a courtesy bus into the V&A which is frequent and accommodating. The views of the ocean are fantastic with the most amazing sunsets you can watch whilst having dinner on the terrace. Food is fantastic whether eating in the restaurant or bar area. It is the second time we have stayed here and we absolutely love it and would recommend a stay here.
