We stayed here after staying at the Protea Breakwater and this was so much bigger and cleaner than we could have expected. The security is extremely strict. The only complaint is how long it takes to check in. I found this with most accommodation in South Africa that even though they use websites to promote their places, there's no communication about payment. I would recommend this place as it is close to the V&A Waterfront. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment and each bedroom had it's own p... Read more

Top floor of self catering apartment block. Spacious rooms with all you need to cook for yourself if you wanted to, but why would you with so many fantastic restaurants and bars nearby? Ten metre swimming pool nearby, we had this to ourselves every day. Lots of help and advice about trips and excursions from the office/concierge. Free wifi only available in the office but for a bit extra you could have wifi in the apartment. View of Table Mountain on one side and the harbour on the other, a... Read more

We stayed in one of the apartments offered by the Waterfront Village for a visit to Cape Town. Registration at 14:00 took a long time before we could settle into our apartment but once we were settled we were very happy with our choice; a superb two bedroom apartment overlooking the Waterfront. The apartment was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed from a coffee-maker to an iron. The rooms were clean and tidy and yet I felt a handyman could just fix a few small issues. Myself and my wife stopped in the V & A Waterfront Village in May 2016. This was our first visit to Cape Town and we were really impressed by both the location and the size of this apartment. Situated a short 2 minute walk away from the V & A waterfront the area felt very safe and offered a superb range of restaurants right on our doorstep. You can also find a supermarket and a number of tour companies there as well which are very useful. The apartment itself was bright and spacious and included... Read more

Stayed at Bannockburn 404. Overlooked the Canal. Check in was fast and efficient. It's a 3 bedroom unit which had everything that you needed. The beds were comfortable and the thick windows blocked out all noise from the road the 2 bedrooms faced onto the parking facility and the road. The main bedroom overlooked the Canal. We had the most frustrating 3 weeks ever. On checking in the heating pad and TV in main bedroom did not work- was 2 weeks before fixed. The 1 GB of internet I bought went off after 3 hours and they claimed I had used it all. The fridge door fell off on the 3rd night. Every night for 3 weeks the DSTV signal was lost, so we could not watch TV in the evening. I had mixed feelings about this place from the other trip advisor reviews, however, it turned out the be a very nice value for our family of 5. The location is realistically about 10 minute walk to the V&A waterfront shopping center or aquarium. There is no convenient store or restaurant around the area that is easily accessible. At night, it's a little strange with all the working docks busy cleaning, but we felt safe among all the locals going home for the evening. You can't beat the value... Read more

We had a fabulous two bedroom apartment in the marina area. The apartment was very spacious and finished to a high standard. The location is perfect for the V&A shops and restaurants. No more than 6-7 minute walk. Security was very evident and we felt very safe. The downsides: Our apartment wasn't that clean (it wasn't dirty but I expect a higher standard). This is a great location as many others have said, but the problems began when we arrived and no one was at the main office (supposedly open 24/7) for check in. They had been told of our late arrival but we still had to wait 1/2 hour for someone to show up. We had 2 apartments for our group. Ours was pretty run down; theirs was uninhabitable. Apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. View was over the canal so very quiet. Parking was also easy though you do have to check in first and then take care to security gate but all very secure. Location near the V&A Waterfront was just great as easy walking distance. Loads of shops and restaurants to choose from. For the British it's useful to know Woolworths is equivalent to M&S. Useful if you want to do self catering. Access to a pool and gym at the apartments but you pay... Read more

In theory, ideal - an apartment, city living, near the water in the midst of Cape Town. In practice, far from ideal - we found our place to be a rather dark space, with an unpleasant smell, and not as ideally located as we had wanted. And I'm afraid we have to join others on this site in reporting that some money went missing from our apartment. We can't prove this (or know exactly when it happened) so we couldn't report to police or claim on insurance. Did provide some polite written feedback t... Read more

Stayed here for 5 nights. Very nicely appointed apartment. Situated alongside the canal. Quiet location with plenty of security. Allocated parking space. WiFi free at reception and available in the apartment for a fee. Towels changed daily. Short walk to V&A waterfront where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Would stay here again

Check in was a bit hit and miss but they did take our luggage round to the apartment and then came back and collect us. The apartment was adequate for our requirements two bedrooms two bathrooms however the second bedroom only had a bath and it would have been so simple to add a shower unit over the bath. We thought we had paid for wifi only to be told on check out that it hadn't been connected I am not sure how long we spent trying to log onto the system on hindsight we should have contacted ... After reading mixed reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. I stayed in a 2 bed, 2 bath with my husband and 12 year old son for a weeks vacation. We arrived early in the morning after 25 hours of travel and so I had requested, and even offerd to pay for an early check in, but we didn't get it and had to wait until 2:00pm. I did send copies of passpoerts etc ahead of time, and the check in process at both places went quickly. I know each unit is privately owned and so what you get is hit and miss.... Read more

Our three weeks in South Africa climaxed in our week in this self-catering accommodation. We had a second floor two-bedroom apartment overlooking the marina. The apartment was spacious and very well furnished and kitted out with a huge veranda complete with a dining table for 6 and a couple of recliners. The kitchen had all the accessories imaginable and a vast range of pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and glasses. Housekeeping is provided 6 out of the 7-day week. Probably the best self-cateri...
