A wonderful place to stay. You feel like royalty from the moment you arrive. Food is excellent, staff are wonderful and accommodation is superb. We loved our stay.A walk in the beautiful gardens makes you feel at one with nature. Don't miss a massage at the Spa!!!

There can be few better places to stay anywhere in the world; after an unpretentious entrance there are beautiful gardens, very comfortable rooms, many different public areas to sit and drink coffee, great food and lovely smiling staff. The Breakfast buffet is outstanding, tons of choice, and the bread is all home made. An excellent fitness centre, a nice outdoor swimming pool, and at the bottom of the garden their own little vineyard. Perfect!

Had family lunch. 96 year old mom. Very bad service. No waiters. Charmaine was trying her best but we waited ages to get our salad They forgot to put my dahlajies on my salad. And salad was not nice. As I said charmaine tried her best but hopelessly understaffed. We were in the square Disappointed as this is a beautiful hotel. Set in lovely surroundings. You need more staff.

Our second stay at this hotel, just as good as the first. Second time of celebrating an anniversary at this hotel and our room was upgraded again, with a lovely surprise bottle of wine, two red roses and a gift. The staff are all very helpful, friendly and approachable. Although this is very much a business hotel it did not detract from being a wonderful base for our holiday stay in Cape Town. One small problem in the breakfast room was soon sorted out and we enjoyed good service with a large ... Read more

We like the Vineyard Hotel so much, that we haven't tried many others in Cape Town. The breakfast is superb, surpassed only (in my limited experience) by the Charlotte Street Hotel in London. The garden setting, the walks in the grounds, the beautiful views from the rooms (worth paying extra not to have a courtyard view), the gym and heated pool, as well as a lovely spa, all add up to a special holiday or business experience. The staff are mostly friendly and efficient, the weak point being th... Read more

My wife and I spend a night at the Vineyard as part of our honeymoon. On arrival, we were offered to park our car and have our luggage taken to our room while we proceeded to do our check in. There the staff greeted us very nicely, and offered us with an upgraded room as it was our honeymoon. The room we got was a very large suite, with a balcony looking over the gardens towards Table Mountain. we also had a bottle of cap classique and rose petals on the room, which was a very nice surprise. A beautiful hotel in the Newlands area with great views of Table Mountain. It is built around the residence of one of the early British settlers in Cape Town. Very clever architecture. Nice friendly staff although service was sometimes a little slow.

From the photos we thought this hotel would be in a very rural environment but it turned out to be in a busy superb of Cape Town but with the most glorious of gardens. We loved the hotel, the food was fantastic and I ate the best Filet Steak I have ever eaten in my life here. The staff made our stay memorable with top quality friendly service. We chose the hotel specifically because we did not want to be on the waterfront and thought it would be close enough to journey in and out however we d... Read more

Stayed in the upgraded rooms on the 3rd floor, which had beautiful views of the mountain and gardens. Room was luxurious and spacious. The service at this hotel is world class and the attention to detail unparalleled. Travelling for business often means rushing in and out of hotels, but the team here make the experience more pleasant and enjoyable. I have stayed here a couple times this year and will continue to do so. Well done!

Only 20 minutes from an historic victory for Ireland over the Springboks in South Africa, which may colour my judgement somewhat. After that heroic 14 man v 15 man success everywhere in Cape Town seemed great. We had a very pleasant suite with a great view of Table Mountain and the delightful gardens around this historic house - originally built by an Irishman and his wife in the late 18th century. The rooms were tastefully furnished and the bathroom facilities were very good although I have ex... Read more

You have to hand it to the designer ?? the different drinking and dining spaces in the hotel, worked into the fabric of the old building, meant we could enjoy ourselves with friends despite some vocal sports fans in the other parts of the hotel. The staff were lovely, the service was consistently excellent and the views stunning (though find me a place in Cape Town where that's not true...)

Possibly the best hotel I've stayed at. The only thing better was the staff, what an exceptional venue and team. We stayed for our wedding anniversary and wished we could have been here longer. Wonderful room, with all the mod cons you would expect and a beautiful glass bathroom with free standing tub. Wine, food and grounds were delightful and a good gym and pool to try and keep the pounds off. Despite being of the quality of 5 stars with the pound to rand ratio we really couldn't go wrong pric... We deliberately chose to get away from the 'madding crowd' in Cape Town and stay at the beautiful Vineyard Hotel, Newlands - about twenty minutes away from the CT airport. We knew we had made the right choice from the moment we drove into the states estate. The hotel is surrounded by abundant gardens and woods that make for great trail walks. One of the most beautiful settings for a hotel. The Vineyard is situated in acres of beautiful gardens with a view of the east side of Table Mountain. It is an historic building and site, which has been modernised over the years, without losing it's sense of style. The rooms and facilities are very good and the location is very central, based in Newlands, 3km's from UCT,10km's from the centre of Cape Town and 20km's from the airport. A number of colleagues had given me tales of blissful stays, whether here for work or on holiday. This is (still here) my first time and must concur. Spaces for conferences and functions are more than adequate. Rooms and facilities (gym included) are super functional. What thrills me though are the restaurant and the pub. Really cool. Succulent food. Views and garden truly wonderful.

I regularly stay at the Vineyard Hotel when traveling to Cape Town on business - every 2nd month for the last 6 years. The location is outstanding (the mountain view is magnificent), the staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable (they just need to be better maintained), and the food is ok. Since the renovations, the decor of the rooms is too modern for this beautiful old hotel - that was a mistake. I prefer staying at the Vineyard instead of in the busy city or waterfront... Read more

Such a warm welcome on our arrival starting with the driver the airport and continuing through out both our stays. ALL the staff were polite, pleasant and willing to help and advise when asked. Our room was well appointed with a lovely modern bathroom, Nespresso coffee maker and fridge. We overlooked the courtyard which was calm and relaxing. Breakfast was amazing with a huge choose of top notch hot and cold foods, endless coffee and the view of Table Mountain from the terrace was spectacular. N... Read more

There are occasions when pretty just doesn't come close making an appreciative appraisal of this remarkable estate. It offers history, gorgeous gardens, fine comfort and superb hospitality. Ensconced in our mountain-view suite we are entranced with the shape-shifting qualities of Table Mountain... plum pink at sunrise with its crags picked out in shadows or sunset blue and wonderful display of cloud craft when a shroud descends down the slopes. A proper bit of old colonial Cape Town. Magnificent setting, great restaurant and bar area, all set on a beautiful estate. Lavish gardens and great mountain views makes this a very special place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and finishing are all fairly modern and well kept. Worth a stay of you can afford it.

Vineyard Hotel GREAT location - just a 15 minute car ride for the Centre and then Constantia area just 10 to 15 mins. The view onto the mountain is magic - I would request a mountain view room. The onsite spa is lovely very welcoming - if you do want treatments it is very popular so try and book in advance , but they were especially accommodating to us when we arrived to book treatments for the same day. The hotel terrace looking onto the mountain is a perfect spot for a long lazy wine filled... Read more

We stayed there on our honeymoon on recommendation from a friend and we weren't the least disappointed. Aside the welcome gestures, the room was clean and spacious with uninterrupted mountain views. The breakfast had many items and everything we tried was flawless. It's a bit distant from the where the action is in cape town but if you have a car or a taxi, it's just a 20 minute drive to the camps bay or V&A.

This hotel has lovely grounds, rooms and facilities. The gardens are worth a walk round - there are tortoises. I also liked the indoor and outdoor pools. The food was great and so was the service. I would definitely recommend this place and stay there again.

There's not a hotel anywhere in the world that I love so much as this one. It's charming and the gardens are beyond amazing. While it's not a small hotel, it feels like it is; anything you want it just a request away. Their commitment to the environment without sacrificing quality is seen in everything they do. The neighborhood is charming, with great restaurants, shops and walks close by.

I have checked in for a two night stay over on business. Arriving on day one I decided to bring my wife down from Pretoria to join me. From the moment I checked in the hotel staff really gave me the impression that nothing is too much to ask for and that anything can be arranged. The rooms are very spacious and modern with all the amenities one might expect. The gym and spa is very well equipped and the staff is knowledgeable and polite - again re-enforcing the original perception. You will no... Read more

The staff at the reception were friendly and helpful . There was a good selection of food for breakfast , cereals , pastries etc but no halaal meat options. Service at breakfast was erratic probably because they were really busy at that time. The hotel is conveniently situated within the southern suburbs... Read more

This hotel is well located in Newlands, Cape Town. It's easy to access the highway to the airport, and the city is also easily accessible. There is a walking route along the river and you forget you are in the middle of the city. The service was excellent and all round and staff responsive when you have a problem. However, make sure you don't stay in a room close to the restaurant. It was very noisy and was advised to specifically ask for rooms away from restaurant next time. Highly recommend... Read more

The hotel is quite comforting, with easy access to most parts of Cape Town. The rooms are well arranged with the balcony facing trimmed gardens and a scenic view of magnificent table mountain. The dining is out of this world with the staff getting out of their way to ensure your needs and expectations are exceedingly met.

We had some issues on arrival with noise from staff outside and carpets being laid outside our door. we had been travelling for over 24 hours so just wanted to sleep but this was not possible. We had no wifi in the room (because of rain we were told) so tried to move to a public area to at least do some work. the bar area was full and there was no where for us to sit. We escalated to management and to be fair they did a good job of recovery. We enjoyed the remaining time we had in the hotel... Read more

For the 4th time in a year I have taken friends to the lovely Vineyard Hotel. While the position is stunning and the food good, twice I have had to endure sulky waitresses. Today I took 3 friends for lunch and was "served" by a very offhand and unenthusiastic waitress. Its doubly irritating because at most establishments in Cape Town we get excellent and polite service from the many Zimbabweans who do a sterling job in the services sector. Our waitress was local and offhand. It was embarrassing... Read more

My review is definitely slightly colored by the fact that I was upgraded to a suite during my stay, but nevertheless this is a special hotel. There are a few issues but I would still give this a five star review because at the price you cannot go wrong - Rooms are big and well appointed (the suite especially so I will admit but some of the common areas look a tiny bit faded.
