We last stayed in this hotel in 2010, and sadly then, we were less than impressed by the overall lack care or concern for us, (their paying public!) and their guests . As long time Starwood Preferred Guests we were very disappointed at that time with both the hotel and its staff, so it was something of a leap of faith to return the same hotel again. The courtesy shuttle to the V&A Waterfront, being a significant driver in our overall decision making. First indications of better levels of servic... Read more

It's been two years and what a nice surprise. This time it was a perfect stay & we enjoyed every minute. We arrived Friday afternoon and were greeted by very friendly staff at the door, at the reception and at the bar. Our room had a nice view of the harbour and everything was just perfect, from the fresh, crisp linen to the ultra clean bathroom, to the well stocked mini bar and the coffee bay. The bed was most comfortable and the turn down staff made sure we had a comfortable rest. Breakfast is... Read more

Great setting for a meeting. It is located just across the street from the convention center. We did like the restaurants and amenities. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. The biggest negative was the housekeeping. It seemed like they would forget to leave wash cloths or hand towels or both. We would run out of paper In the bathroom and had to call down at an inconvenient time. This has not been my experience at other Westins.

The Westin Cape Town is a ideal hotel for a business conference. The building is modern and comfortable. Every amenity is here and the attention to detail is unsurpassed. The staff is warm, engaging, and professional. My room was modern and well-appointed. But, mostly it was COMFORTABLE. The lobby restaurant provided tasty delights to keep me fueled and on the run. Room service was prompt, the food was hot, and the menu was eclectic. The 19th floor gym sports a spectacular view. Even as I was ... Read more

I stayed at the hotel whilst on a family vacation in Cape Town. The hotel is located across the road from the Convention Center and a short distance from the renowned V&A Waterfront shopping centre. The hotel exudes an atmosphere of class when entering the lobby area. Guests are greeted with a valet service upon arrival and welcome drinks. We were lucky enough to be upgraded upon arrival and complimentary kids packs were provided daily for my three kids to keep them entertained. The hotel has... Read more

Disclaimer -- our first stay was during the Two Oceans marathon and the second during Jazz fest and since we were not attending either of those events that was not a plus a massive traffic jams surrounded the hotel and the Jazz fest rocked well into the night. Rooms were spotless, but housekeeping was spotty -- not all towels that were collected were replaced, water bottles were not resupplied, etc. Front desk and bell staff did a great job managing the crowds. There was no, can I offer you a discount on the room you paid a premium for to have "Club" privileges, not even an offer of a complimentary drink at the bar. Although the Front Desk staff and Concierge were helpful, so many things went wrong during our 4 night stay in this hotel. For some unknown reason, the water in the shower was scalding at all points on the cold-hot range. We had to wait 3-4 minutes for the water to slowly adjust, but even at that point, the water temperature was barely tolerable. The hotel sent someone to look at it and he said that all the rooms on floors 2-7 had the same problem. This continued for our entire stay. Othe... Read more

I enjoyed a lot the accommodation - the hotel was very clean, the room was large enough, had a great view and was overall comfortable. The non-working part was the food, especially in the lobby bar and restaurant. This is a typical Westin with the linen, beds and loaner gym equipment. There are some nice touches in the rooms including heated floor in the bathroom. Service was good and responsive and the breakfast buffet (included in my rate) was extensive and good value Conveniently located next to the convention center and near to the waterfront (although the prevailing advice is not to walk but take the half hourly free shuttle)

A few critiques, the food here is just not good for a higher-end hotel. The breakfast was ample, but not particularly tasty (blueberry smoothie was delicious). What a start to the weekend - checked in at the Westin in Cape-Town - the spectacular room and was not only greeted to a panoramic view of Capetown - which included Signal hill , the waterfront, the harbor and views of Robben island!!!! , but also was greeted with champagne and feathers decorating the bed as well as a birthday card. They really went all out. Thank you for a beautiful stay! Stunning service and experience!

As a Lifetime Platinum Member of the SPG Program, I do spend a lot of time in Starwood Hotels. The recent stay - for a week at The Westin, Cape Town was a revelation. Very rarely have I faced such a sense of disappointment. The hotel seemed to be running on auto pilot - with the Guest Relations at the lobby offering standard stereo-typed responses / apologies to every guest query. The Westin is located at the convention Centre which is convenient if you are going to a conference there but otherwise it's location is not great. The standard of the rooms is good but the service leaves much to be desired. I stayed there for a conference and hosted a dinner in the evening. I stayed here on business for 2 weeks in August and had an excellent experience. The staff are very attentive and always ready to help with whatever you need. As I stayed over he weekend I used the leisure facilities including the pool and again these were excellent. The only (minor) criticism I had was that the restaurant menu could have been a little more extensive as after several days of working late it was a bit repetitive. Overall a good hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for business. Excellent breakfast spread, great front desk (twice they went above and beyond to makeup for my incompetence), and HEATED TILE FLOORS in the bathrooms!! Typical weather was rainy and cold, the tile floors were very welcome to quickly warm up. Rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean. While its definitely a more corporate/businessy hotel, I would definitely stay here while on vacation. Close to lots of things and an Uber is usually right around the corner.
