Started a 3 week trip to South Africa here, and it couldn't have been a better gateway. After 30 hours of travel, from Los Angeles, we were greeted with enormous charm and champagne by one of the managers, Hope -- our room was ready, as was a carefully curated list of restaurant bookings. That attention to detail and above and beyond service continued throughout our stay - detailed advise on sight-seeing, travel, running routes, you ask it, Kensington Place provided. The hotel itself is small bu... Read more

Halfway the Leeukop mountain, looking at the table mountain from one side and overlooking Cape Town in the other direction, at the end of one of the thriving streets of Cape Town, loader street, you will find this very nice boutique hotel. Very tranquil le on the one hand and very close to many restaurants, bars etc. and not far from the town centre. Very nice rooms, great staff and excellent service. A very kind and friendly ambiance. A very special place to stay.

We stayed three nights at Kensington Place and really enjoyed our stay. The large rooms with views right up towards Table Mountain and the harbour in the distance were a treat to wake up to every morning. The location is fantastic - we could walk to cool cafes and restaurants on Kloof Street in 10 minutes, and it is a 10-minute Uber ride to the cable cars to get up Table Mountain (which is really handy as you would want to get there as early as possible in high season). Staff are extremely frie... Read more

The best kept secret guest house near Kloof Street in Cape Town. Elegant and charming your hosts will make you feel most welcome and special. Great service and amazing club sandwiches to enjoy on the terrace mid-day by the pool. The most relaxing place when you are on a business trip.

Service was outstanding and the food was delicious. The room was spacious and totally gorgeous with a great high cut-out window with stunning views of Table Mountain. I still remember and appreciate the heated bathroom floor.

Stayed here for the first few days of our South African trip. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, offering excellent knowledge on nearby trips and just making you feel special. The views off table mountain are great and with it being on the outskirts it's so peaceful. As with most parts of South Africa I wouldn't recommend walking at night but use the uber As it far less than normal taxis even though they are cheap. The rooms are adequate size with a large bathroom with a shower and plen... Read more

This lovely guesthouse is in a very nice residential neighborhood off of Kloof Street but of course like most of Cape Town town it is surrouded by a high fence and gate with 24 hour security. It is up a steep hill so you might walk down to Kloof Street during the day but take an Uber back up. Like most of Cape Town I would always take an Uber at night.....they are reliable and reasonable. Our room was very comfortable and it had a low legged sofa and a chair. I like when hotel rooms have seati... Read more

This was our second visit to Cape Town. Having previously stayed at the V&A Waterfront, I debated whether to repeat it or try out something different. I'm pleased we chose Kensington Place. Everything about our stay was impeccable. The service was great; all staff were friendly, helpful and personable; they were always at hand to give advice. The location is a lot more residential than the V&A, but it's something I enjoyed. We were able to walk from the hotel to Table Mountain which was great... Read more

Starting with the staff, all here is great! The location at the base of Table Mountain is ideal and the mountain is visible from your spacious terrace (tho we hit a streak of bad weather & never got to get to the top)... breakfast is included ...location is quiet and requires a cab ride or long walk to get to Kloof Street, where the action is...Rooms are lovely and supply all the comfort you need...CAUTION: NO ELEVATOR and all rooms require walking flight of stairs...

We spent three nights at this bijoux guest house. The staff were very helpful, the room was great with an amazing view and the breakfast was extraordinary. Situated near Kloof Street it is a 20 minute walk to the Waterfront and the centre of town.
