Amazingly beautiful boutique hotel! Made our honeymoon extra special! Breakfasts are to die for! Great restaurant recommendations - hussar grill in camps bay is a must for steak lovers. What a lovely place to stay! This is a small, boutique hotel located between downtown and Table mountain. I loved waking up every day to watch the sunrise over Cape Town's downtown and harbor. Our hotel room was beautiful, spacious, and clean. Breakfast every morning was delicious. The staff were all very kind and helpful. I can't wait to stay here again!

The location, facilities and staff are excellent at this Stylish guest house. My husband arranged a surprise overnight city break for me and we stayed here. It is within walking distance to the ever popular and trendy Kloof Street and the restaurant recommended to us was lovely. The rooms are lovely and the views from the balcony of our room were beautiful. It is located in a beautiful green and leafy suburb with great view of Table Mountain. We were made to feel comfortable and special from t... Read more

Located in a quiet neighborhood, the staff was attentive and service excellent. We were looking for a boutique hotel and KP was perfect. Easy access to sights and waterfront. Transportation was also easy to arrange.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a beautiful location, with fabulous views of Table Mountain yet a short walk away from restaurants and shops. The rooms were very well appointed and the staff were so helpful and made you feel completely at home. A special thanks to Hope who was so helpful offering great restaurant recommendations and providing really great advice on the best things to do in Cape Town. We spent four nights in this beautiful little oasis and hated to leave.

We just returned from an amazing vacation in Africa. We closed out our trip in Cape Town and wine country, staying at Kensington Place four nights. We arrived during the evening and were immediately offered a very nice glass of red wine (our choice). They even prepared a light meal for us as we were too tired to go out for a late dinner. The room was lovely - nice sized, bright, comfortable with a nice sized terrace that provided a partial very nice view of Table Mountain. The breakfasts were co... Read more

We loved our stay at Kensington Place. Our welcome and the service we received was so warm and friendly! The communal areas were very stylish but homely, our room was spacious and always clean. There were some really nice personal touches that were really beyond expectations. For example, the hotel had booked some restaurants for us, one of which we had tried to get a table at but they were fully booked. We were very pleased! Breakfast was very good - one of the best breakfasts I think I have ha... Read more

This place has such a cool vibe. Great art work, beautiful spaces, especially the outdoor lounge areas, and awesome food! We didn't stay for dinner but if breakfast is any indication, there is a very talented chef in the kitchen. All the staff were so nice, so interesting and so helpful! The rooms are divine (we were in Room 1 with a roaring fire to warm us up from the winter chill!) My only complaint was the lack of plugs for all the iphones, ipads, computers etc. which was INSTANTLY addres... Read more

I stayed at Kensington Place for a weekend in the winter, and it was absolutely lovely. The hotel was quiet but easily accessible to everywhere I wanted to go, the staff was unfailingly helpful, and the atmosphere was serene. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for three nights. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel had booked us restaurants for all three nights without being asked. Drink selection was very good as we're the room. I will stay here again next time I come to cape town.

This accommodation was booked by go 2 What an amazing place and very intimate and special. Right from our arrival we were treated like we were royalty. A welcome champagne and lovely Hope helping us with all the information that we required. They had also made dinner reservations for the next few nights if we wanted it. Let me say this was amazing as the restaurants were absolutely wonderful and very reasonable in price. A lovely touch. The rooms are outstanding with lovely views of ... Read more

It is very disappointing to have to write this as KP is actually a pretty good hotel as other reviewers have pointed out. It was our first visit to Cape Town and a visit to Robben Island was the absolute top of our list. Kensington Place emailed a few weeks before our visit asking if we needed help booking anything. This was a good sign and we emailed back asking about Robben Island. No reply. My wife emailed again - nothing back. We asked when we arrived in the afternoon and it was suggested th... Read more

We loved this small upscale hotel but the location was not awesome. We had to use taxis to get to town and waterfront. It would have been great if we had a rental car but our arranger did not feel that was safe for 2 single ladies. The staff was excellent and the public areas and rooms were lovely. We had breakfast on our deck in the mornings with side views of Table Mountain that we loved...then explored Capetown and its environs during the days. In retrospect we might have preferred to be clos... Read more

We arrived before check in time and were welcomed with a drink and led to Room 9. The room was fabulous, the balcony huge and the view awe inspiring. The staff couldn't do enough for you. Breakfasts were delicious. A wonderful place to which we will return.

We spent five fantastic days at KP. The staff was AMAZING - just so incredibly thoughtful, the breakfasts were excellent and the rooms were spectacular. The location is also very convenient to lots of great restaurants and little shops.

Thank you for a fantastic stay. Great hotel, location and service. Nothing was too much hassle and the breakfast was really good. Best bacon I've had in a long time! Also thank you for having cold and flu tablets in the room - it really saved me! We'll be back again.

Starting with the staff, all here is great! The location at the base of Table Mountain is ideal and the mountain is visible from your spacious terrace (tho we hit a streak of bad weather & never got to get to the top)... breakfast is included ...location is quiet and requires a cab ride or long walk to get to Kloof Street, where the action is...Rooms are lovely and supply all the comfort you need...CAUTION: NO ELEVATOR and all rooms require walking flight of stairs...

This was our second visit to Cape Town. Having previously stayed at the V&A Waterfront, I debated whether to repeat it or try out something different. I'm pleased we chose Kensington Place. Everything about our stay was impeccable. The service was great; all staff were friendly, helpful and personable; they were always at hand to give advice. The location is a lot more residential than the V&A, but it's something I enjoyed. We were able to walk from the hotel to Table Mountain which was great... Read more

This lovely guesthouse is in a very nice residential neighborhood off of Kloof Street but of course like most of Cape Town town it is surrouded by a high fence and gate with 24 hour security. It is up a steep hill so you might walk down to Kloof Street during the day but take an Uber back up. Like most of Cape Town I would always take an Uber at night.....they are reliable and reasonable. Our room was very comfortable and it had a low legged sofa and a chair. I like when hotel rooms have seati... Read more

Stayed here for the first few days of our South African trip. The staff are so welcoming and helpful, offering excellent knowledge on nearby trips and just making you feel special. The views off table mountain are great and with it being on the outskirts it's so peaceful. As with most parts of South Africa I wouldn't recommend walking at night but use the uber As it far less than normal taxis even though they are cheap. The rooms are adequate size with a large bathroom with a shower and plen... Read more
