Arcadia Hotel belongs to my favorite places to stay when I travel to Bratislava. Located in a historical building dating more than 700 years ago and sensitively refurbished it offers all the modern amenities appertaining to a five-star hotel. The rooms are clean and surprisingly spacious; the king-size beds are comfortable and, well, large. The hotel is relatively small with just about ten rooms per floor and only three floors, which grants the hotel a nice and quiet atmosphere, quite enjoyable ... Read more

I would not think twice about recommending this hotel to anyone. Such a positive experience. From Joseph the doorman's greeting at arrival to his greeting at departure - I think he is one of the hotel's greatest assets. At arrival they took our luggage and offered to park our car, a bonus because the entrance to hotel is in pedestrian zone. Parking is extra at ?26 per day, but that did not bother us because of the convenience. We had a lovely large room on first floor overlooking the Francisk... Read more

We stayed in Bratislava for 3 days. Hotel is in ideal location. Room itself was nice - the only thing that let it down was that they described it as a court yard view when in fact it was a room with no window. This meant it did feel a bit claustrophobic but we didn't stay in it for long. The old town is lovely and we did a day trip to Vienna. Go on the bus - 8 euro return compared to 30 on train and boat. Easy to do as well - from bus station on Bratislava to bus terminal in Vienna then undergr... Read more

Our Stay was quiet nice BUT : Room was very nice and clean spacious bathroom, View to the courtyard inside was sad :( no fresh air but we managed . ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS WELLNESS AND SPA / GYM we enjoyed it so much was very neat and great. Unfortunately ROOM SERVICE WAS ONLY TILL 22:00 which is weird for the 5* hotel and we did not have any option just to go out and eat. Location was great..

The best thing about this hotel is the fact that it is just around the corner from the centre of the old town, yet is on an extremely quiet street. We had a courtyard room, which was fine, and quite quaint, although I panicked a little when we heard voices from people in the lobby which carried straight up into our room, it was echoing badly and extremely loud. As it happens, that was the only noise we heard during a three night stay which was lovely and peaceful, but I imagine if there were pe... Read more

This is a lovely hotel with good service. The location is at the edge of the pedestrian only area which has lovely cobbled streets and squares with plenty of lovely architecture, cafes and shops. There is an elevator. If you are getting a taxi to get to your flight or train when checking out, allow extra time as we experienced a half hour delay.

Perfect location just around the corner from old town square. Nice rooms and facilities. However we chose a courtyard view room and there is no outside window therefore we feel a bit like we are in a cave. This was a mistake. Would not recommend this type of room. Staff was very helpful and attentive. Arrangement of a driver from the train station was perfect. Would rate this higher if the room had an outside view.

Nestled in the old town area, this 5star hotel has plenty of character and friendly staff. Rooms are of a good size and whilst I feel that the hotel needs a swimming pool to claim being 5star, it is a good contender. Quiet location. Good restaurant. Reliable and friendly hotel staff.

Very central small old style hotel with friendly staff. We were there for a business meeting of 30+ people. The food at breakfast and the buffet lunch was very good. Rooms were nicely furnished and decorated with comfortable beds and very good spacious bathroom facilities. I would have given it 5* but for a couple of things. The couple of days we were there were very hot around 35. The air con in our room which was up in the eaves didn't ever get cool enough to feel comfortable. It also kept cut... Read more

My room, amazing, very big comfy bed with apply space for storage of luggage, bathroom huge, massive bath with glass sectioned off toilet. Thought I had died and gone to heaven. Breakfast very good, all that you needed for a good start to the day. Old part of Bratislava a lovely place to visit on the Danube River. Restaurants plentiful in the old market square, als... When I was booking I realised that some rooms were inward facing and wanted to avoid these. I rang the hotel to check what category I needed to book to do this. I was advised Deluxe rooms had windows to the outside so that's what I booked. When we were shown to our rooms (we had two rooms) I was horrified to find that both rooms had windows that opened to the corridor outside. I rang Reception and asked what category the rooms were and was told:'standard'. I confirmed that we had booked (and pr... Read more

This hotel is clean and well appointed. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to accommodate. The breakfast was nice. Parking is possible. No pool for swimming, just a dip pool. But we would definitely recommend this hotel. There is smoking in the hotel bar...we didn't go in for this reason. Located in the very centre of old town Bratislava, this 5* Hotel is the best in the whole city. Tasty interieur, excellent service, a very good restaurant and breakfast, alot of TV-stations, great and comfy beds, a smoking lounge in old victorian library style, simply wonderful. Even if its in the city centre you can reach it by car which, after being unloaded, is being driven by a hotel employee into a nearby underground garage. WIll go there again.

We recently travelled to Bratislava for a work trip. There were 31 of us and from start to finish we received a wonderful service, particularly from Karin. The hotel is beautiful and you could not beat the location, right in the centre. We used the conference facilities which were very good and the food was excellent. I would love to go back there one day!

A very classy hotel set in the Centre of old town. The room was large and included a seating area and desk. The bathroom had a separate toilet room, as well as both a shower and tub. Laundry service is available (though expensive). Wifi worked well. AC was good. Our room had windows overlooking the indoor courtyard. One night in the middle of the night we could hear staff/patrons at the bar talking quite loudly at 3:00 am which actually woke us up. The staff member got quite defensive when spoke... Read more

This hotel is located in the old city center of Bratislava. This old hotel is nicely restored and they serve a great breakfast. The bar opens late but stays open very late at night. There is a bell boy who gives you warm welcome. I like to stay there, it is a bit traveling back in time, but with modern comfort.

This was my 5th time at Arcadia. Service has improved: it is now more personal and flexible than before. I requested and got my favourite room (4) with a stunning view on the gothic church of Bratislava. The room is large, rich and confortable. The Penhaligon's amenities a big plus. The SPA is a dream. The butler Robert is very competent and efficient. Still to be improved: a check out time at 10 am is more suitable for a youth hostel than for a 5 star hotel. The breakfast is above average.

Apart from the ?20/head breakfast price which kind of threw me when we were checking in, the hotel was great. I'm a hotelier so always curious what others are doing (or not doing). Joseph from Guana on the front door was lovely - so big thanks to him. We had one of what seems to be the famous inner courtyard standard rooms (according to previous reviews) - well we were nicely surprised how huge it was - under medieval eves, least it had character, and was spotless. We were looking forward to stay here, in Old Town and with walking distance to the most of interesting sightseeing point in Bratislava. But unfortunately, we had a very bad experience with someone came into our room and took our money. The hotel denied this but as we see it, there was no other plausible explanation to us. There still were the pieces of beard after shaving in the sink as well as remainings of toothpaste. In the room there was a huge spider net. Even after asking for cleaning at the reception there were still some beard hair in the sink.
