We booked a So Studio room and it was really the right choice. The hotel is wonderful designed by Karl Lagerfeld and let you feel like you're in a very stylish fairytale. Everything was perfect from neck-in to check-out. The only thing what's a bit pity is that there is no changing room at the pool and only two tiny showers and that the WiFi was very slow. But I'll definitely come back to stay longer!

Labelled as redefining luxury boutique accommodation in the Lion City, Sofitel So Singapore is certainly a perfect mélange of French elegance with a chic Singaporean twist. Housed within the iconic former telecommunications building, the Karl Lagerfeld-designs lend prominence and give credence to comfortable accommodation in the heart of the business district.

We arrived at 6.30 am and all the roads around the hotel were closed for a bike race. The police would not let our taxi through so we had to get our cases out on the road and push them across the road in front of buses and then across the race lanes to get to the hotel. The staff were expecting us and ran out across the road to assist us with our bags. This set the tone of our visit. The staff were so helpful and courteous. Staff were exceptional, friendly, obliging and efficient and could actually remember our names. All the taxis we took did not know this Sofitel exists. But mention Lau Pat Sat eatery square quickly gets us there. We have been living out of our suitcase for 2 months checking in and out of hotels but this hotel manged to surprise us: 1. If you are into local Singaporean hawker foods, the location of this Sofitel (<50 metres from Lau Pat Sat) is an added bonus. One can still savour a sumptuous satay meal way past 12 midnight. 2. I stayed at Sofitel SO Singapore with a friend for 5 nights last month. The hotel is located in the heart of the city right next to the local food market. It's very close to coffee places like Cotsa and Starbucks and business destinations like the big 4 which are all located one block away from the hotel. The rooms are really beautiful, clean, and artistic. They are a bit smaller than they seem in pictures but still they are alright. The branding is so cute and is very well done all around the ... We went with our two small children and booked a suite which was well worth it, lovely big room with a balcony, big bathroom with a huge bath and shower. They put an extra bed in for us at no extra cost. We loved everything about the room except it could do with double glazing as it faced a main road which was noisy with traffic most of the night. The staff were excellent and we enjoyed the little coffee shop and their macaroons! You can walk across the road to the food market which is huge and ... Read more

Went for a high-tea session at Sofi So hotel. When I arrived at the hotel, I realised their hotel location is located right smack at the edge of CBD area, which doesn't allow them to have a proper drop-off point. So do keep a lookout for their hotel name to locate them. Once I get inside their hotel lobby, I was really fascinated by all of their chic and fanciful decorations. Worth taking a couple of photos here. Unfortunately, their high-tea was disappointing. Although it was a high-tea b... Read more

If you are your typical Brunswick, Prarahn etc. hipster, trendy or chic type of person, then make a trip to Singapore just to stay at this hotel, you will love it... The SO series of sofitel hotels are a boutique collection, each with their own individual theme and inspired by a selection of famous designers I have never heard of (but the Fiance knew them all). Stayed in a king room in the SO heritage wing, room was spacious, airy with high ceilings, and clean. Despite the name, the rooms were... Read more

Price: Everywhere in Singapore is expensive I guess, so price-wise, it was fine. Location wise: It was opposite a local food court/market, which was extremely convenient for my older parents. Rooms were excellent and extremely modern. Small, but I don't mind that so much. Staff were excellent and friendly. The pool on the top level was excellent, and so good to drink at when night fell. It's like a full nightclub bar, with great views.

I checked into the So after having previously stayed at a number of other luxe hotels. It was a gamble, which certainly paid off. The service exceeded even my high expectations as a Sofitel lover. The rooms are opulent and very gorgeous. If you like minimalism these rooms will challenge - you need to consider the novelty of opulence! I prefer a sparse room, but the novelty of a truly beautiful room combined with fabulous service, a very gorgeously presented buffet breakfast, and a very chic... Read more

Fareh at reception arranged an amazing room (338), more a Paris apartment than a hotel room. Breakfast was good, covering all the bases, if I had to make a suggestion it lacked a little x factor. A great location for downtown and perfect for the hawkers centre opposite. The Hotel is centrally located and next to the iconic Lau pa Sat, which offers good street food at an affordable price. Service is good and no compliants The train station is not far away, so it offers convenience to travellers. However, it is not near Orchard Road (shopping district), nor any attractions. The surroundings are a bit dead on the weekend, as the hotel is in the central business district, which serves the office crowd.

The hotel is hip and funky and lacks the typical bells and whistles of a 5* hotel. But what they lack in facilities they make up in style. The rooms for instance are equiped with high end connectivity. The ability to browse the Internet on the TV was novel for a while... The in room amenities like the cocktail bar and remote control for lights were also cool. The restaurant is alright. And the rooms are small. Fantastic quirky hotel. We experienced a small issue with our TV in our room. To our surprise we were upgraded to a much larger suite and provided with some local delicacies and received a formal written apology. We were expecting to be moved to another room on the same floor however the hotel upgraded us. Fantastic customer service. Will definitely be staying at Sofitel So when we return to Singapore. Hi,I would like to thank Chef Yong Qiang and Chef Ben for the excellent dinner that they cook for our family. It was the most scrumptious and amazing food I have eaten. The salmon fish was so moist that the fish melts in your mouth. The beef that was serve to us was of the right texture that we wanted to be. The seabass is my Favourite and most recommended dish because the fish was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The Chef are all very nice and very friendly. I feel very at home and... Great location, fantastic staff, brilliant rooms. Was allowed to book in early - 10.30am. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Location is superb for exploring the Quays. What more could you ask?

The hotel is a very cool experience. Starting with the modern French style decor you know this place will be special. The rooms are decorated in a nice way and they are loaded with amenities. Everything in the room is controlled from your ipad. Free wifi and some free minibar food and drinks. Nice pool and bar on the roof. And excellent location. So really little to complain about but the one complaint i have is not a small one... the rooms are very small. They do try their best to make the room... Read more

Excellent hotel with friendly staff. Rooms are comfortable for a business trip. Chairs in rooms maybe are not suitable for lots of working at the desk, but perfectly comfortable to check those emails. Room functions are controlled by iPad which is quite novel but would recommend for anyone

What an experience. In the room they give you an ipad. With the ipad you can steer everything: lights, curtains, air con, tv, access to internet. Forget your own devices, just arrive and you are online. The room has all you want. And it is light and a great height in the room, makes it feel more spacy. Drinks in the minibar are for free, extra mineral water will be delivered every evening. Breakfast is great choices, good quality. The seating benches aee not comfortable, if seated make sure yo... Great location and an amazing bed. Your close to China Town, Marina Bay Sands and the CBD. Across the street from LaPaSat. This is our second visit and we were not disappointed. Accor Member drinks night is a great new addition. Piotr, the GM and his well trained team do a great job of offering 5 star service with a twist!

Currently staying here for our 50th birthdays, the hotel upgraded us to a suite, it's incredible, size of a small apartment, no tiny house living here. Incredibly affordable drinks & eats at Lo Pau Sat markets across the road, a little convenience store selling drinks & snacks. Chemist close by & MRT 2 stations sitting 5 mins walk.

PROs: - very central location (business area) - awesome buffet breakfast - cultural heritage building CONs: - very small rooms - decadent decorations make the whole place feel over the top and outdated - loud electronic music playing throughout hotel all day and evening - rooftop parties on weekend attract drunk teenagers to hang around the hotel - no quiet working areas Generally, this Sofitel is not good value for money in my opinion, but I should have guessed from the "Boutique" branding, ... We picked this hotel because we are familiar with the group's other hotels but this turned out to be a disappointment. Upon checking in to our room, we were greeted by a musky smell along the corridor. Also throughout our one night stay, there was a vacuum cleaner along the corridor that was never kept away. When we tried to take the lift to go out, the lift was not working and we were left wondering what was going on, until we caught hold of a housekeeping staff who tried her best to tell u... Read more

Stayed there for 3 days, visiting Singapore for a business conference. The hotel is very new, built in a restored historical property. The design and style is ultra chic and modern. Upon my check in I was informed I had been upgraded to a suite. When I walked in I was truly wowed. Super tall ceilings, huge space, super elegant and stylish. The staff is super helpful and the bar by the rooftop pool is super trendy. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. On the negative side: PRiCEY! Be prepar... Read more

What an amazing place. Had a lovely room with a very funky decor. The staff were wonderful and couldn't have been anymore helpful and inviting. A handy location with the famous Lau Pa Sat food market right next door, it couldn't have been anymore convienent. The room was automated which made it fun to push all the buttons! Would have liked a docking station to play some music - maybe they did have one but didn't know where or how to use it. Highly recommend staying there.

Spent a weekend with my wife in this hotel that I only knew from its rooftop bar so far. It is actually a wonderful surprise to discover the rooms : crazily tasteful decoration with full service from expresso coffee machine to every thing you need in a bathroom. The staff is very professional and friendly. Of course if you only fancy classical decoration style you won't like it. The hotel is 5 storeys only so it is very cozy and you will enjoy most the difference with the usual large scale hote... Read more

We chose this funky little hotel primarily because it was one listed with Amex and we wanted to redeem some points. What a lovely surprise! Our room, the SO Lofty Suite was enormous and eclectically fitted out with gorgeous furniture. Super comfy bed with glorious pillows. I want one. I could have spent the entire stay in the bathroom. In fact on the Sunday, we almost did.....in the bath with a glass of bubbles. The rooftop bar was a very pleasant place to slide into the evening and the buffet ... Read more

We recently stayed at the Sofitel So. Beautiful hotel. Rooms are well set out and super trendy. The ipad by the bed controlled everything - lights, curtains, TV, etc. Staff were all very nice and helpful. Had a lovely 2 nights there. The "SO Sofitel" is different from the regular Sofitel chain. Local and international designers have a much greater say in the style and design of the rooms and decor.

This place was a lot of fun! The style of the hotel with its funky French vibe was amazing! We stayed in a So Urban room and the size was adequate - the kind of place where you would expect fashion over function - looked amazing but some features like a place to store bags off the floor would have been great. The minibar being complimentary was great! Rooftop pool is fun and wasn't too busy during our stay, so was a nice place to relax. A couple of things however tainted our otherwise wonderfu... We stayed for three nights in a So Urban room which was a nice size and well laid out. There is a separate toilet and the bathroom is huge with bath, large basin and massive shower with a powerful monsoon shower head. There is a minibar with free snacks (nothing to get excited about) and a selection of soft drinks which are restocked daily. There is also a nice selection of tea and coffee (choice of plunger or espresso) The room has a smallish desk and a single seat. It would be appreciated if t... Read more

Very clean and nice hotel, with good breakfast and generous toiletries, walking distant to MRT station. Satay night market and food court at night just outside the hotel. Free softdrinks and snacks. They gave me a Birthday cake in the room when I came back to the hotel at the end of the day.

A true boutique hotel. Very cozy service. Rooms have rather restricted or no view but inside very thoughtfully designed. iPads for controlling the climate and lighting. I struggled to find a taxi though due to inaccessible location. But I would love to go back.

The SO Sofitel Singapur is really worth a stay. The Hotel is co-designed by Karl Lagerfeld and really fits into this art-loving city. The staff is really kind, devoted and helpful. Completed by the rooftop-bar and pool, the hotel facilities are in very good condition. Our room in the heritage wing was really fantastic, spacious and well designed. The whole room, from lights over the room-temperature to the curtains and the TV-Set is operated with an Ipad-device. One of the best rooms we ever had... Read more
